I am referring to banking, commerce, airlines, steel and other industries including securities, stocks, investments finance, construction, security/military etc. An adult conversation about the realities of modern economics not just a few shabab.
I believe Mr. Khashoggi was hoping for an adult conversation with the Saudis. It’s what is known as an oxymoron.

The deal has also opened up Thailand to Saudis.
Not until they’ve opened up the knocking shops, in my experience Saudis only travel for one thing (+booze).

I’m surprised the Thai authorities lacked the wit to bribe pollsters and get a higher score.
-
If he’s hoping to promote tourism by the Saudis to Thailand he’d better get the bars & nightclubs open pretty damn quick.

Good, now they need to go after and take down the 'real' insurgents, being the leaders of the protest groups that are US backed, funded and trained to take down the China friendly and democratically elected Thai government.

And checking the statistics, Thailand has ~30 cases per 100 000 while the country where I live has 250 and UK 2000, so where is safer?))))
That should read 30 “reported” cases per 100,000.

Can you send me the name of his dentist? I’m all over that.????

He was reported to have been refused a room at a Pattaya hotel because he didn’t have his passport?

Not really... understanding or suspecting that this could be a mistake in communication and perhaps a face saving exercise is not a ‘Thai bash’ but a realistic possibility.
I have quarantined in Thailand in ASQ (Twice) in Sandbox (once) and Test & Go (once).
In each of those intervals of quarantine there have been examples of miss-communication and the staff not understanding the protocol / procedures, at the Embassy level and the hotel level.
Maybe this guy was arrogant and didn’t think the rules applied to him, or maybe he was told he could leave by the hotel staff who made a mistake - its not a Thai bash to understand the latter is a possibility.
He left without his passport - in all conscience, would you have done that?

I’m no fan of the Thai Authorities but as usual so many of you on here use this story as an excuse to rip into the Thais. The protocols for entering Thailand under the Test and Go scheme is very clear. This arrogant <deleted> decided it didn’t apply to him and is now enjoying the consequences of that arrogance. The accusations on here of Thai overreaction are laughable, if one can ignore the rules then so can everyone.

Just what Hua Hin needs, hundreds of thousands of Chinese tourists streaming all over town. I’ll probably give it a miss for the rest of my life.

Fantastic news. Does this mean the Thai government will sanction the repayment of £500 they owe me for the cancelled flight in May 2020? Make the cheque out to Cupid Stunt please.

As evidenced in other better vaccinated countries the surge will come from the reopening of schools. The presence of vaccinated & tested faring tourists will have a marginal effect but will receive the bulk of the blame.

and tomorrow another Department will come out with another load of utter bo//@cks. This year was my first winter in UK rather than Thailand, in 10 years. 2022 will be the second. I’ll take another look at 2023.

In addition to this I am in advanced stages of negotiations for the Thai government to purchase London Bridge.

300 baht per tourist! That should generate about 1800 baht per week. Thai economy - saved!

The EU is politicising this situation because of their need to punish UK for brexit. Their bureaucracy is covering up its incompetence in commissioning vaccine supply initially. Why do they need more AZ vaccines when they already have millions of doses in storage unused because of its “distrust” of it?

Agreed. Along with Duran & Hagler the greatest and most competitive era ever in any weight division. I recommend the book “The Four Kings” by George Kimball which tells the story of this rivalry brilliantly.

Agreed. But I will not accept the Sinovac. I prefer AZ. But I will not pay more than 2,000 THB. For both shots.
That’s a no from you then.

How can 83 deaths cause an excess mortality of over 10% in a country with 70 million people???
Read the narrative above the graph. It means that the mortality rate 2020 is 10% higher than for the same period (December) in 2015-2019.

New chapter in Thailand-Saudi ties: A happy ending to a bitter saga?

How grown up is a conversation between two unethical morally corrupt regimes? Have you ever had any dealings with the Saudis, I have. Every sector you mention is ripe for corrupt practices. Saudis & Thais, a marriage made in heaven indeed.
