  1. Dishing out pardons for those clearly in the wrong and who should be experiencing the just consequences for their actions, only smacks of there being something to hide.

Maybe the fuse that has been lit, is nearing someone holding a keg, who would rather not be, and has stomped it out before it reaches and blows up in their face.

On the other hand, of course, this is symptomatic of Thai culture. With no clear moral compass guiding the nation in terms of collective religion or established moral fundamentals, i can safely predict that Thailand will continue to go round and round in these same circles until judgement day.

Let's not kid ourselves - we are a million miles way from democracy, we might as well abandon that ship now and just reconcile ourselves with the fact that some things will never change.

I for one am bored to death with this whole circus - it'a laughable, pathetic and quite frankly embarrassing.

I agree. When even the Supreme Sangha is corrupt and politicians and business people are not bound by any rules, what example does this set for the average Thai.

I agree wholeheartedly. I frequently move among the 'average' Thai and to a man/woman they feel disempowered and not at all enamoured of the present Incumbent as the farang contingent here would have you believe, and I live in the South.

But what lies in wait for those Thai who would disagree with the status quo? Lengthy jail terms courtesy of draconian defamation/LM laws, or a bullet to the head. And if you believe the current mob will fix that, cite me just one instance. You won't/can't will you. Because the majority of posters on this forum only complain about all and anything spoils their 'fun'. From tarts to beer sales restrictions.

  2. About time thailand grew some balls & prosecuted to the end on all the corrupt idiots & rich boyz who make the place such a joke. Mr average get done in hefty fines or jail time for anything from dropping a cigerette, picking mushrooms, running the family market trading bussiness while the complete scum in government & high ranking businesses lie, kill & theive without any recourse.

They never, ever will. Even the Thais know this. Accept it? What else can they do? The fish stinks from the head down.

  3. Just got back from a trip to BKK found the motor bike taxi’s well priced and taking an orderly turn in customers refreshing.clap2.gif

Just wish the Tuk Tuk and motor taxis here in ISSAN would get the same idea, 100 baht for the same trip it cost me in BKK 40 baht.bah.gif

Multiply that by 5 here on Phuket.

  4. Meanwhile, in other news, a Bank of Thailand spokesman was bemoaning the lack of decent infrastructure and human resources to deal with the upcoming massive influx of tourists (his words). he said basically, that Thailand was too cheap and prices should be brought into line with the likes of Singapore ... Pointless arguing with that type of 'thinking'.

  5. Outrage? Where is it when influential figures chop down ship loads of trees for personal gain?

Because, artists do not come under the get out clause that are 'influential figures'. Duh. Nowhere in the civilised world would an artist, any artist, be party to the wanton destruction of the environment. THAT would cause 'outrage' on a global scale, not so in <deleted> Asia and specifically SFB Thailand. Geddit?

  6. Close most of the markets and street venders and there would be plenty of labor available. Most of the lazies prefer to work only a few hours a day and only a few days a week. Thainess at its best!!!

My God, what a stupid ignorant hateful comment. how about if you were faced with a 12 hour work day with 1 day off per month at 300 baht a day (if you're employer actually paid the minimum wage). There's a very good reason there are so many street vendors (do learn to spell) in SE Asia, the prospect of a lifetime of grinding poverty or trying one's had at entrepreneurship, what would you choose you self satisfied @ss.

  7. I think it was a retirement extension. Sri Racha is one of the rouge offices (perhaps 2 or 3 total) that want a medical certificate to apply for one, The medical certificate is not required according to the police order for extensions.

But requiring it to be from a hospital is way overboard. The others will accept a 50 baht certificate like you get for a driver license.

'Rouge offices'? Khmer? However, and notwithstanding, I do applaud those one or two posters who have solely, and not without humour, taken it upon themselves to attempt to interpret the stupid and diverse statements regularly emanating from the self serving, ignorant monkeys who make up Thai Immigration.

My advice is to take everything and the kitchen sink to your local immigration 'office' in order not to give them a reason to make a lucrative 'ploblem' for you. Apes.

  8. The beaches being used for private 'enterprise' is simply a small part of the ideology of Phuket. No public transport, none. No zoning - anyone can throw up an ugly condo anywhere just so long as money changes hands. Beach encroachment is just one symptom of a massive malaise on Phuket. And no amount of lipstick on this pig will ever change it.

  9. Prayuth is concerned about Yingluck running away. But, he can rest easy, because Yingluck has a Thai Police bodyguard who will uphold and enforce the law when necessary...I just realized I turned the PN's blissful slumber into a nightmare. Sorry wub.png

Meanwhile, in other news, the OAG is not concerned about her either presenting personally for today's indictment on her charge of malfeasance NOR that she may travel abroad, despite a consecutive civil suit in the sum of 600 bn baht (conservative estimate) stolen from the country's coffers.

The Thai admin of any stripe/hue are yet again going about their namby pamby way of making life easier for themselves with no regard to the knock on effect of the citizens of this country's having to go through yet another round of instability, lack of any solid and immutable rule of law which is the cornerstone of any democracy. Because, once they have elevated themselves to a position above everyone else, they can.

If this latest incarnation of concerned pu yai are sincere in that they care for Thailand and ALL it's citizens, they must incarcerate the latest of a very long line of self serving thieves. It's beginning to look as though they will follow Thai tradition and, wont.

  10. She is not in office anymore, so why should the taxpayer pay for het, and especially because she is going to be a convicted criminal

Ex-political officials are commonly taken care-of at taxpayer expense in many countries; and how do you know " . . . she is going to be a convicted criminal"?

Ex (sorry, haha) 'political officials' usually have not taken care of themselves so brazenly and in such a manner as this greedy thieving beeatch. H3ll with her, she's a nothing, a nobody, she is only making news now because the press and sites like this are elevating her to some kind of importance, same as her parasitic brother. Stop reporting about them, no one will notice.

  11. "The ex-PM's only condition was that he wanted to talk to someone with the power to make decisions, so that any agreement reached can be put into practice, the source said. "Thaksin has been fooled many times already. Such talks often failed in the past, so he wants people with actual power to talk with him," the source said.

This poor delusional creature still believes he is relevant. Megalomania really is a fault without limits. Thaksin, me old mate, sit beside me and I'll try to break the news to you gently. Ssshhh, deep breaths, let the muscles relax. OK? Thaksin, you're not allowed back in the sandbox. Sorry, but the other kids don't like your selfish tantrums.

So if he's not relevant, why all the opprobrium?

Because the media, ALL of it, insists on keeping him in the limelight. How many Taksin threads on this site alone over the years? Clickbait, pure and simple. He should long have been kept the irrelevancy he is. Piece of sh1t.

  12. Sorry but if you get bite by a dog you do not get left with a bruise. You get teeth marks and very likely some blood will be spilt.

So maybe this mans 6 yr old son wasn't telling the truth.

    <snip>

I love my dog. I don't hate dogs.

My dog is cool and doesn't bite people...However, if it's dog vs human, it's a no-brainer. The dog has to go.

If my dog started getting viscous and aggressive, I'd shoot her. I wouldn't enjoy it, but I would.

Now, back to the bruise vs bite argument.

How did the stray dog bruise the kid? Wagging its tail, or with its teeth?

I'd have done the same thing this father did, except I'd have made sure the dog was dead prior to tossing it down a garbage chute.

The ONLY reason a dog, properly trained/taken care of, would bite is if it' isn't, trained/taken care of or feel itself or it's carer threatened. None of my dogs would ever feel the need to attack. If your's does, it's your fault, so shoot your bloody self. Problem (you) over.
