  1. What happened prior to the start of this video to promote a 'race' between both cars?

Both drivers were acting very poorly, though it seems common on Thai roads.

I am not condoning the use of a weapon being used, though it looks like the 'video taker' driver was instigating a response.

If the Honda driver was doing something wrong on the road, then send the film in to the police, don't act just as stupid and then cry wrong doing.

2 wrongs are portrayed here, the worst is the use of a firearm, the other is bad driving from both parties.

  2. I don't believe there is enough of the story told, pre getting out of the car, and therefore once again biased comments are made without knowledge.

Farangs are always warned about confronting Thai road users, in fear they will be attacked or shot. This type of situation is too common.

Someone needs to stand up to the bad behaviour of many Thai [and foreign] drivers in Thailand. The police cannot be everywhere.

At the end of the day, this Thai businessman is a shocking example of Thai pleasantness, and very weak to respond in this way to an elder.

What would the King have thought of this?

Shame to the both of them

  3. So wrong in so many ways.

An apology and payment by the rich won't bring back a special person.

One law for some and another for others.

Jail should be for all killers, whether accidental or premeditated. The time in jail is the difference.

Funny that this is the first if 3 Merc deaths in the public eye at the moment.

Drive a Merc, kill somebody, pray on your knees and go home free. You gotta love Thai live.

  4. Just another cop-out for the rich, famous and well known. You took the lives of two young people now unable to enjoy the wonders of the world. A simple wai or time at a temple will never show you what you have done wrong. I hope the quilt will stay with you to remind you of your wrong doing, though something tells me you won't change, and probably do the same.

    Murder is murder!

  5. Calover and Brizo, you are total skcid (work it out) and need to watch the whole 'uncut'CCTV footage.

Backing the Thai for this outragious attack just shows how biased and racist you are.

The Brits did get more than they deserved when confronting the so called drunk Thais ( I have never seen such control from a drunk person), although this was after the Thai dropped the Brit after he put his hand up to stop the Thai stumbling into him.

Put more competent police in place and better alcohol laws and stronger punishments for wrong doing that is not sweep under the table with a simple and stupid apology.

  6. Ask her to write down her expenses/ payments (including temple payments) and let her know you are setting up a budget.

If she can't/won't understand, then maybe it is goodbye time.

Overall costs have increased in prices.

    'You' come first.

What are you getting in return? How would she/they cope if you weren't there?

  7. Not surprised that certain posts are now 'locked' considering some people are commenting on obvious 'cut video' and stating the English also provoked the attack.

The original video shows the Thai man trying to start a fight with an earlier 'passer-by'.

As the English trio walk down the path, the young Englishman puts his hand out towards the 'drunk Thai', in what would be seen as a way to stop the Thai from stumbling into the trio. This is something that many people would do, and is not in any way an attempt to promote a fight.

The Thai man flattened the English son and the parents confronted him.

Not sure what people like BALO have been watching, but he/she needs to see the whole video, and not the cut version for the benefit of the Thai media and police of whom are now trying to hold face.

This is a total disgraceful act and won't be easy to sweep under the table.

One thing to think about though, these type of acts are now becoming more common 'around the world', where respect to others and especially the elders is being flushed down the drain.

  8. What a pity someone can't hit (with force) and kick (with force) the slimy culprit that attacked this elder lady.

Where is the 'Asian' pride of respecting your elders?

Sadly, these types of acts are becoming too common (and anyone disagreeing must walk with their eyes closed), and it is not only in Thailand, although this act of violence must be the worst we have seen involving elders.

The excuse of being drunk shouldn't even be looked at.

I hope they get the full possible charge and punishment without any leniency for all four men.

Good on the man who tried to help out.

Shame on the rest of you 'cowards' that stand around laughing with your cameras in hand. Due to your cowardly act, you are helping to provide a lawless future.

A group of 10, 20, 30 people standing up together against this group of four, would of helped.

  9. For and against.

    If financially okay, good.

If have friends/family to chat to, good.

If like the quiet life in the country, good.

If have someone who will look after you when sick, good.

If can cope with 35 plus heat, good.

If don't mind the increasing ignorant, arrogant and impatient people, along with increasing crime levels, good.

If you don't mind the changes in laws and regulations, good.

Otherwise stay with the tourist visits.

I love parts of Thailand and a few Thais, though find communication and boredom a worry. Heading home.

  11. Good to see the roadside checks, though more are required.

Many faults seen at night whereby trucks and others have faulty lights, or no lights working.

Also saw last night heading to Moray, a Ute with a bagged load overhanging the back of the Ute and covering the rear lights.

90 percent of drivers seen last night were great, although 10 percent is still too many of ignorant, arrogant, impatient and unlawful drivers/vehicles to be on the road.

  12. Learning the hard way about what is read, too many words, not enough words, misinterpreted, misunderstanding of reason behind words, there are good reasons for this statement.

Outside influences have both helped and destroyed Thailand [in certain areas] over the last fifteen years, and most certainly, person pride and attitudes of many Thai has got worse.

Provocative/sexual dancing seen by many, such as the f me/f you hip thrusts and backside shake, should be kept behind closed doors, as young children gtry to follow their peers not realising where these actions are from, or may lead too.

Look outside 'your' own desired world and try thinking about those people with a desire for a happy, progressive and high valued society.

  13. Of course they are only talking about those people caught, 'where the police were involved in the investigation'.

Most 're-offending' of unlawful or dangerous road use acts seems to go unnoticed by the justice system, as the insurance companies cover any accident [whereby the culprit of the accident is not dealt with], or there are no police around when dangerous driving is being observed.

I suppose the question is, 'what is recognised as criminal road acts'?

The Transport Authority needs to spend money on re-educating all road users throughout Thailand, including the actual road code and showing advertisements of the results of fatal accidents [or what could happen] as overseas countries do.

The 'Police roadside checks' need to include full vehicle checks and driver licence checks [including all vehicles, motorcycles, farangs etc] and not just vehicle warrant or breath test of 'Thai' car drivers.

It is a good idea what the Justice Department is doing re this story, although there is a much bigger issue to cover.

Prevention is better than a cure..
