  1. So ok its probably not for the coffee experts of this world , but tastes ok to me.

Buy one get one free , purchased at boat lagoon but believe its in all the stores.

    140thb , so 70thb for a 100g jar.

  2. Hi Cherchuer ,

Yes I know that , a generic promo leaflet , they also have an app in the appstore if you want to download too.

Maybe we could include that too ,if you go to x Villa for the promo but they dont have stock , post here in case a member knows if its availiable in one of the other two locations.

I was refering more to the offers specific to a store as in the example I gave.

Of course all promo reports would also be welcome.

An example of their generic ofders at the moment would be m&ms chocalates 25thb buy two at 25thb ( same price as 7 / 11 ) get one pack free .

Funny seems like im just buying chocolate and crisps :-)

  3. Not sure if you guys will follow on this one but lets see.

Now that Villa have 3 branches on the island and I do visit all of them depending on where I happen to be on any given day I have noticed that each store does from time to time have different promo offers , buy one get one frees , close to sell by dates , etc .

Now bearing in mind Villa is not the cheapest place these savings can be a tidy sum.

So a tentative idea for this thread is that if you happen to be in one of the Villas and see a good offer / promo to post it in this thread.

Ill kick it off with a simple offer today from Villa Chalong with Walkers Crisps ( ready salted ) they are on buy one get one free , so two packs for 39thb.

Not a big saving but as my kid takes a pack everyday to school ( and im partial to packet now and again ) I brought 10 packs giving me a saving of 390thb compared to if id bought them from villa in boat lagoon yesterday as they are 39thb a pack no offer.

Id like to see if the thread is usefull and if any one else sees some promos to post.

  4. Go to woman beauty salon, they know what they are doing, clean and hygienic and most of them will do an head massage, foot massage and both fingers and toes nails.. Fist stop for me when arriving in Thailand, mine is in Khrungthep.

Well thats gonna help the OP.

A tourist telling a person living in Phuket to go to a womans hairdressers somewhere in Bangkok so he can have a massage too.

Good intentions im sure , but ...

  5. Was there last night with some friends , and I definately agree the place is really quite generally.

That said , Seduction was packed full . There was probably more people in there than the entire rest of all the bars on bangla.

  6. He probably lives in your area and was happy to get a paid ride home at the end of the night.

Was thinking that too croc , cant see as to why else , but even then from experience most of these guys would sooner drive home empty then let a farang get a bargain price normally.

On a side note has anyone else noticed the massive increase in checkpoints all over the island in the last couple of weeks ?

  7. Myself and some friends were out yesterday and we ended up in Patong.

Anyhow I needed to get a taxi home and as usual all the tuk tuk drivers were touting for buisiness.

As one asked me if i needed a taxi I said yes and explained to him I needed to go Thalang.

He quoted me 500thb , puzzled I confirmed with him that he understood where I said I was going and he said again yes , 500thb I take you.

So although still a little unsure as to wether it would be more when he dropped me off I got in.

But sure as eggs are eggs 500thb it was!.

In all the years of being here I have never had that same journey for less than 1000thb.

Anyone else have any experience with a cheaper than usual tuk tuk / taxi price recently ?

  8. Well for sure Phuket Town hasn't got the memo yet.

Currently in the Pint Factory @ Limelight and its busy as hell.

Quick head count , 70 people plus and Im the only Foreigner here at the moment.

And the beer aint cheap , every bottle circa 200thb , but decent imported stuff.

  9. Posted this in another op but it really is good.

Download eatigo from the app store.

Loads of restaurants in bkk offering 50% off. Its genuine too !

    Highly recommend.

Not associated in anyway with company , just wish theyd get Phuket up and running too

Used it many many times ,

  10. Never had medical insurance

past 30 years have spent about 75,000 baht on hospital visits, (blood clot, Broken collar bone, checkups, blood work done)

    figure im ahead

    yea yea i know

    what if,

but to me, i look at it like this, you get insurance an ur betting u get sick or something goes wrong so u can use it. seems wrong to me

If something serious goes wrong, i jump on a flight back to the states where i am covered.

PS; i do have a nice positive balance in my accounts an dont live month to month

Understand your opinion and respect that ,

But id like to see you "jump" on a plane if something really goes bad for you.

For the sake of a thousand dollars or two a year why the hell would people not get themselves insurance here ?

Well for me, I stopped my insurance 10 years ago when I move to Thailand also. Had insurance in the US that was costing me $10,000 per year. Took the money I would have spent on insurance during that 10 years and invested it .....now have over $100,000 for health care and emergencies. My health bills in Thailand for the last 10 years have been less than $1000.

Self insured here in Thailand and have no problem with it, as costs in Thailand for medical care is WAY less than the US.

Agreed thats why a half decent policy here is around only 1,000$ a year and not 10,000$.

Covers you in every place on this planet except guess where , the US.

But I don't disagree self insured is also viable
