This debate has been raging for years ---when I was living in Pattaya in the 90s-- they even made an announcement where the first Thai Casino would be Ambassador City Jomtien There was a rush to buy units there --so they could rent them out. This was before the terrible inconvenient -Go tap a computer Key every 90 days came in-- the 90 days then was , Get out the country.

Aranya Prathet border crossing to Cambo was chokka full of buses on Thai day trips to the Casino's & 90 day Farangs --I dont know how many Casinos they fitted in that little town. I know the 3 major ones Diamond City/Crown Casino....... then lots of small out of the way spots.----the money leaving Thailand every day must have been tremendous.

Earlier in the 90s I was in Phnom Penh when they oped their first Casino---an old boat on the river--- there was still fighting in the country side and you were all told not to leave the city area...... Still the Thai's came for the Casino....... Greeks & Asian's all made gamblers aren't they .

When I checked the the one year O-A requirements through the "visa Details" info on the Los Angeles Consulate's website yesterday it still had the 100,000$ insurance policy as a requirement.

    8.  Insurance – Applicant must have a health insurance for the duration of stay, with coverage for covid-19 disease with the total sum insured oof THB 3,000,000 (100,000 USD) per policy year.

Why don't you call or email the consulate directly? Get the answers straight from the horses mouth.

  3. Yesterday,  A Thai man. Older adult. Eating KFC. He had his mask off on one ear. He had a napkin in one hand a piece of chicken in the other. He would take a bite and then hold the open tissue over his mouth while he chewed. Lower the tissue and take another bite...raise tissue..repeat.

    Made him happy.......sooooo

I have a feeling, based on some back and forths on this forum, that LMG is charging the new premiums for the 3 million baht policies (vs. the original 40/400 policies) for all one year policies that extend past Sept 2022. I guess when LmG responds to John, we'll have an answer....

Due to the new regulation of Thai immigration has changed the coverage of Health insurance from 440K THB to 3.5 M. THB or 100,000 USD. For visa renewal, may we suggest you to contact Thai immigration office about insurance coverage is required for visa renewal.
Since your existing policy covered 400,000 inpatient and 40,000 outpatient with 200,000 baht deductible per disability.
If you would like to change insurance coverage to 3.5 million baht or 100,000 USD, please indicate on the Change of Coverage Form and find the new brochure as files attached.
    Just got this from LMG
my policy went from 7,700 to over 11,000
    BS
    Just a F..ing tax.
I could get married but that stinks.......

LMG O-A policy will enroll up to age 75 and once enrolled, renew until age 100.

So there should be no problem.

Try calling them.  Or is there an online portal for customers?

Now this is strange. I have sent 3 email . 2 to the [email protected] and 1 direct to the agent that helped me last year. First email was on Thursday and 2 today. early.

    I just called...maybe during lunch...and only got a robot.

Did they go out of business??

  6. My Non O-A was issued in January of 2017. I have extended it every year since then.

    I am 71 this year.

I used LMG since the required insurance. 7,700 per year..

I sent them an email last week asking for an invoice, or whatever, for up upcoming extension.

    July 12. CW.

    They haven't responded???

Someone said they only cover up to 70!!!

I will call today and find out. I fell a kick in the pants coming.

I don't have the money in the bank...so.....

Anyone know a low priced company that will work?

Went on Wednesday and my application was refused. My exempt visa was renewed for another 30 days. The reason being that the 800,000baht has been in my account for many years and they need proof of 800000b being transferred from abroad within the last year or maximum two years. I am now trying to obtain a bank statement to show transfers from England amounting to 800000b which I transferred for living expenses I will keep you posted. If you have any suggestions please let me know

I thing they would be quite happy to except your bank balance, if you were using an agent.. Maybe an Immigration friendly agent??

Aside: so I did the report online and had not received a "successful" 24 hours later still pending.

I panicked and submitted via mail.

I had it already prepared as had zero faith in online reporting.

I received the approval eventually from online report and was concerned that perhaps I may have caused an issue by using 2 methods to report.

Weeks later I received my mail back with my filled in application etc.

They included a receipt and written in Thai on bottom of receipt are words to the effect that report was done online.

So story about nothing really except that doing 2 did not cause any issue.

Quick question Doctor.: You say: I received the approval eventually from online report. Was that 2 days or more later?

And did you go to the online site to see if there was an approval notice?

The new system doesn't work for me, as I can't do online 90 days reporting, it keeps getting rejuected, even after I went in person to file a report. At least on the old system I was able to do my 90 reporting online.

same for me, 90 days ago... rejected 3 times...with no reason given. I sent one in again this morning. 8am..no answer yet, so I'm pretty sure it will be rejected again..with no explanation as to why...again.

So off to the post office..again..tomorrow.

cant believe i am reading this post.

just leave the country and do the O visa

    jeezzzzzzzzzzzzz

    its not rocket science

I don't know if I am 100% correct or not: I have a Non OA from years ago. I buy the insurance,,7000? baht...once a year.

I can show 65,000 per month coming in from abroad. Get a one year statement from Bangkok Bank to show immigration.

If I cancel my Non OA by exiting and coming back on a tourist visa. Then change that to a Non O...I will have to show 800,000 being transferred from abroad to begin the Non O.

And.....not sure...but that 800,000 has to be used every time to extend after that. No more 65,000 per month as I do now.

I don't have 800,000, So extending the Non OA is the only way. 7,000 a year for the insurance isn't that big a deal. My girlfriend spends that much on shoes every month.

re-enter Thailand as long as you have an approved thai pass & proof of covid insurance

I am on a Non OA...so, I would also need a re-entry permit. And since my current extension doesn't expire until mid July.. would I need insurance for 2 + months?
