what if i don't have a flight out? I don't know my plans yet, and even when I do, it is likely i will use a bus to depart by land and not fly...what then?
I have a tourist visa, and need to start me 2nd entry, but now, after reading the messages here, I am a bit nervous.
Why is nothing straight forward here?
-
No, but if they will deny you entry on the second entry. They will tell you before you leave to Myanmar, so you have time to sort it out.
If you have a ticket out of Thailand, it is a good idea to take it with you to show you don't intend to stay in Thailand for ever.
why would they deny your 2nd entry?

Hello,
I was at Mae Sai on August 5.
Sticker at the immigration counter: "NO VISA RUNS"
30 days extension on a tourist visa denied...
Same at Chiang Khong.
My mate was at Mae Sai on August 11 to stamp 30 days, denied as well.
A young friendly officer sent him to the immigration office in town, there he could get the 30 days extension for 1900THB.
I left to LAOS at Chong Mek / Ubon Ratchathani some days later.
The answer on my question there, if I could get back to Thailand at this border crossing just with a 30 days stamp was YES NO PROBLEM.
Maybe my post can be a little help....
I think you mean your 30 days visa exempt stamp.

Maybe Mai Sae denies the visa runners, but those with valid tourist visas should be good to go? Right?

if you have a visa, you don't need to prove anything. You need those requirements when u got the visa. Once u have a visa, you're good

Good evening, lads!
I am trying to find a used bookstore online for Thailand. Anyone know of any?

I have to do a border run soon to start my 2nd entry. I've never been to Mae Sai before, and this will also be my first border run.
I have some questions.
First, do they still accept $10 or must it be 500baht? And will the $10 have to be clean and new and does it have to be a ten spot or can fives work as well?
Second, I want to spend some time in Mae Sai shopping and eating and drinking.... the buses from Mae Sai to Chiang Mai depart too early. Are there later buses from Mae Sai going to Chiang Rai where I can then board a bus to Chiang Mai?
Thanks!

Just put I am a currently a tourist and traveling on the money I've saved from my last job.
-
When I've applied for a tourist visa, on the occupation part, i just put I am currently unemployed and living and traveling on my savings from my last job. I had no problems. Or I've put my previous occupation at times. I don't think they're too concerned over it, there are far too many applicants to be eyeballing every single application for small details. The most important is the number of visas you have from that same consulate.

The baht has really slipped in the last few months. I was at the bank yesterday and saw that $1 = 34.51 baht. I've never seen it that low since coming to Thailand.
I think looked at the official rate online just now and it's over 35.
How low will the baht go?
Maybe this will spike tourism besides the Chinese.
As selfish as this sounds, I hope it goes to 40. Pipe dream?

Also, anyone ever try using baby powder for deodorant?
-
you can get any western brands by ordering them on Ebay. I recently received a five-pack of my favorite for 800THB shipping included.
I tried Ebay first, but I've had no luck. And 800 baht isn't very cheap, IMO. I'd rather buy some decent stuff here for a fraction of that cost.
Beer money, airfare, food, etc...

I just ventured to 7/11...
Has anyone tried that cooling powder stuff for deodorant under your arms?
I might try that for under the arms and for other warm parts of the body.
The brand was called snake brand?
Also, anyone try this: http://g02.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1Vi3nIFXXXXacXXXXq6xXFXXXg/JT-font-b-Thai-b-font-herbal-natural-font-b-deodorant-b-font-powder-stop-odor.jpg
7/11 had it for 39baht

Running out of the stuff I brought from home... Can you all recommend a good deodorant here in Thailand. I see some at 7/11...any good...they're in 45 - 60b range. Rexana?
I also heard about Thai crystal - where can I get that?
Thanks

What are the chances of being asked for a receipt on the hotel?
And if I renew tourist visas at the same location, will it cause a problem? I know extensions, much like the visa itself have basically no limitation, but what if i extend always at the same immigration office?
Thanks again
-
Another question: the address used on a visa extension form has to be local to that immigration office, right?
-
Thanks!
I want to do a tourist visa extension. Can I use my hotel's address for the address?
-
Is the immigration office still located in Patong close to the beach and Bangla Rd.?
And does the office usually get quite busy during low season?

Hey,
Anyone know an online site based in Thailand or a site like Ebay where I can buy MARVEL and DC clothes and hats?
Ebay is too expensive with international shipping.
I've found some cool shirts in thrift stores around, but want new clothes.
Thanks

Also, which countries other than Laos provide the double entry visa?
And when I do border runs to activate my 2nd entry, would going to Mae Sai in Myanmar several times cause a problem?
-
Thanks!
I thought having several Laos visas from the same border crossing would be a problem with Laos and/or Thai immigration.
3 back to back visas from Laos? Sounds good to me!
After the third one, could I go to another country or even Savanakhet or would I have to return to my home country?
Thanks

Hello,
Please be patient with me, as I have a lot to ask But please and thank you ahead of time for all your helpful responses.
Ok, as I understand it, you there is no limit to extending tourist visas, correct?
I ask because I extended my previous single entry visa (my first) and now I will shortly extend my first entry of my double entry of my current TR visa from Vientiane. I will then extend my 2nd entry before going on another visa run. No problems, right?
Second, I had 3 visa exempt stamps from 2014, and then got a single entry tourist visa in Vietnam, and extended it. Then, I went to Vientiane, Laos and got the tourist visa double entry. If I got there again, will I be denied by 2nd visa? And if not, if I try a third time will I be denied? And if denied, would Savanakhet deny me as well? And if both countries deny you, is it still possible to go to another country like Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and have no issues?
I just don't want a red stamp asking for funds and residency. I can prove it, but don't want any reason to have problems with immigration in the future.
Okay, and finally border/visa runs.
I visited Laos just for tourist purposes in late 2014, and then returned a few months ago for my visa. That makes 2 Laos visas in my passport with entry and departure at Nong Khai. Now, I want to visit again just for tourist reasons to start my 2nd entry on my current visa and then return again to do a visa run. That will be 4 Laos visas, and all from Nong Khai. Will I have any problems with Laos or Thai immigration?
Thanks for reading and any help you can give me!

Thanks for the info. How about a decent place to stay near the embassy... hostel or guesthouse and a place that will get the visa for you for a service fee.

Hey all,
I am getting my 2nd tourist visa in Laos soon. I am going to Vientiane. Can someone recommend a cheap place to stay near the Thai embassy?
Also, how many visa extensions are you allowed? I have already extended one visa...
if i extend another tourist visa for both entries at the same immigration dept., will I have problems? And if i have 3 back-to-back tourist visas, will I have a problem being denied entry into Thailand? One will have been from another country and 2 from Laos.

if you have a visa, they should not ask about money and plane tickets...
who carries 20k baht when traveling? You're asking to be robbed/mugged..etc...
