Maybe they're sold out of one room choices, and they don't want to offer a 2 room suite to a single person (at the single ASQ rate) when they can probably rent it out to 2 people at the 2 person rate.
It's a 1 bedroom suite with another room for the living area but they have changed it's so they can force 2 people minimum and make twice as much. Its pure greed.

I think her complaint is the fact that the price they 1st sent to her on the quotation was for 95,000THB and then when she tried to book the room the price was changed to 190,000THB
Yes, for only 1 person.

This is the quote sent to me for ASQ accommodation. 95,000 baht for a 1 bedroom riverside suite. When i emailed Anantara Riverside Bangkok today to book the 1 bedroom suite, this is what they stated.
Kindly be informed you that the Anantara Riverfront Suite can accommodate for 2 person is at THB 190,000.
Why would they quote me for a 2 bedroom when i wanted to book a 1 bedroom? Why i asked them, this is what they stated :
For this package advertise on the website is not update (old version) and the price that you see is for Thai citizen and foreigner as well. So, kindly review the update version as enclose for reference.
Also, why is it i am forced to purchase a package that includes 3 meals per day when i formally only eat 1 - 2 times per day and i can't bring my own food or order from outside?
Seems they may only allow booking of 1 bedroom riverside suites for Thai citizens only.

The ASQ is true no reserved space for one or the other just first come first serve.
Got it but the flights from Australia are organized by the Thai Embassy/Consulate. You cannot call the airline and book. They decide who goes and when you go. I've been waiting 4 months and they haven't even confirmed i'm on the waiting list. I see this as discriminatory as repatriation flights from Thailand to Australia are on a first come first served basis regardless of whether you are Australian or Thai. There is no priority for Australians.

Don't you have any insurance companies back home that sells travel insurances? You don't need an overpriced Thai insurance.
I got a quote for 20,000 baht for Pacific Cross but there is much cheaper.

Just off the phone to the Thai Embassy and Consulate who state Thai's are given priority on repatriation flights and they're not issuing Certificates of Entry to foreigners married to thais until all Thai's are repatriated. Some foreigners will be allowed in but not spouses of Thai's unless they fall into another category as well.

Apples and Oranges? The COE requirement is for the prospective entrant or returnee to purchase an actual Health Insurance Policy that provides a minimum coverage of $100,000 USD for Covid 19 related medical treatment.
The airlines insurance policy provides well over $100,000 USD of Covid 19 related medical treatment which satisfies the COE requirement.

A valid health insurance policy covering all medical treatment expenditures, including
COVID-19, worth at least 100,000 USD. The policy must state that it includes expenditures occurring from COVID-19 treatments.

No it doesn't, if one catches Covid over 31 days after flight, you are not covered.
According to Thailand, there's no local transmission so you can't get it after 14 days of isolation. This insurance will cover you if you've already got it or get it while travelling to Thailand.

Just found this cover by Emirates

I would not expect it to work, it seems more specific to business travellers.
It covers all passengers for all medical and hospital expenses if they get Covid 19.

Can the insurance Emirates offer be used for the COE requirements as it covers for $240,000 in medical and hospital expenses when flying Emirates into Thailand? Source

I guess the husbands of Thai wives category was quickly abandoned?
No, spouses of Thai's are already approved, albeit after 3 months of non entry. These are the additional types allowed to enter.

This is from the Australian embassy. I do not like your chance to be able to return any time soon.
I do. That link provides nothing about entry into Thailand for Australians married to Thais.

Seems strange that many countries allow the repatriation of Thai spouses married to foreigners but the Thai repatriation flights into Bangkok are for Thai citizens only.
Then the Thai government wants reciprocal travel bubbles with these countries. Its like they want the business but don't don't care about the family. Money first and family second.

No, the quote is for the suite for 1 person. It's clear. But they then changed it and want twice as much.
