he had dealt with the teacher using bad language after Facebook posts were made by one of the children involved.

    And there we go.

    Thai revenge.

    Even against children.

The Thai is at fault, gets caught doing he shouldn't. Gets reprimanded.

Then needs to get revenge against the child that reported him, so shaves her head using some weak headlice excuse.

Reminds me of the Thai Airforce 5 years ago.

A student complaned about the teacher, the teacher was reprimanded.

On the next parachute jump the student's chute failed to open and they plunged to their death.

    Thai revenge.

A quarter of a century ago, newspapers were profitable and could afford to pay stringers. These freelancers, who were found in every village, were dedicated ambulance chasers who sought out stories to sell from every source, especially the police. So little went unreported. If there are more stories of violence today, it's likely be because there are more to report.

    Incorrect.

A newspaper only has so many pages.

    Only a limited number - 1 or 2 - for crime.

1 page daily for national crime, that one may read, versus 1000s of media reports selected and sent directly to your handheld device as you sit on the toilet via Thai Visa and Twatbook. ????

Before any Thai apologists comment on my post- I know this stuff happens all over the world BUT it seems we are reading crazy <deleted> like this every day now. When I came here to live 23 years ago I never read this stuff, but it seems to be escalating or am I wrong ?

    Yes, you're wrong.

How much media did you have then?

2 national English language papers, and the Channel 7 news at 9?

Now you have Thai Visa, social media sites etc etc reporting when someone farts.

It's the amount of media reporting that has escalated, they've always been killing each other over nothing.

He is just quoting a person who has nothing to do with the labor law. Has been declared as not valid hundreds of times but these digital nomads live in their own fantasy world and know nothing about the actual labor law or just tend to ignore it. On a tourist visa it says NOT ALLOWED TO WORK but they are coming up with all sorts of BS why it should affect them.

Isn't it absolutely amazing just how angry some people get, over the young guys that breeze on in and legally work remotely from one of the thousands of co-working spaces set up for them, or wherever they live.  ????

    Absolutely furious about it. ????

Maybe people who want to work legally over here and pay their taxes.

No problem for them to pay Thai income tax, and they are working legally. ????

They just need to go to the tax office, get a TIN number, then pay their Thai income tax. No work-permit is required to pay Thai income tax on earnings here, because not all incomes come from work that falls under Thai Labor Law. Such as remote employment for non-Thai companies, stock trading, property....

    You're welcome. ????

    Marriage

    Kids

    Retirement if 50+

    Elite.

For example studying Thai and a few hours online work is a nice free and easy existence for them. Or while studying in a university here. ????

Do those online teaching gigs include a work permit? I suspect they do not

They don't need one as they're working remotely. Just go to one of the 1000's of co-working spaces around Thailand.

Fully legal to do, as already explained by immigration police. ????

“It turns out that the reason for the raid wasn’t because we were working online, it was because they thought Punspace was illegally hiring western staff without work permits. They did not know the concept of a co-working space or why we would pay to use an office,” he said on his blog.

The owners of Punspace were helpful, he added, bringing lunch for those affected and giving them a free month’s use of the facilities.

Chiang Mai immigration officials said at a press conference in August that “digital nomads” – people who can work remotely from anywhere – would be able to do so on a tourist visa.
