  1. Yeh like wise, backup plan is paid for Moderna for October in Udon Thani, but I am pretty confident Khon Kaen will pull through, if not, it will be Udon Thani in October if Moderna comes through, otherwise will be up Sheet Creek as they say.
  2. I hope there never comes a time that I need to claim, a bit like having your car insured and hoping not to be involved in an accident where your car could be off the road for a while, or ridden off, if I was ever hospitalised, well I am covered and they will pay for it, that's part and parcel of being insured by a reputable insurer, and if I am written off, well that's when life insurance coughs up to the wife. When shopping around, you can find an insurer that will insure you till your expiry date and if my insurer turned around and said no more insurance, they would have to have a good reason, suffice to say, as long as I can continue to afford them, I will continue to be insured, the benefits outweigh the risks for me as I gracefully age in a foreign country, that said, if I was back home, well I would be under Medicare, similar to NHS, but I am here, so I pay for where I want to be treated, i.e. in a private hospital vs a government hospital, albeit some public hospitals have good reputations, but my last experience was enough to throw me off of them. Call me a snob, but I can afford it and it is my preferred choice, besides no longer than a 5-10 minute wait with coffee and biscuits while you wait, did I mention drop dead gorgeous nurses that I would love to jab, I mean be jabbed by, I mean checked by while my blood pressure rises, well you know what I mean ????
  3. Thanks for that, that makes perfect sense. I am from Udon Thani which is a neighbouring province, so hoping they will accept that. Let's keep everyone up to date when we receive our confirmation of appointment emails. Do you have a backup plan if this doesn't come good ?
  4. How the F they come up with these figures amazes me, then again, this is amazing Thailand isn't it.
  5. Are you on the same date as me, e.g. 12 September at the 1pm time slot ? Also if I can ask what province your from please.
  6. Damn, had I known this could have led to this, I could have put the whole wife's family down for shots, and then started an online auction or something like that ???? Good luck
  7. This site is weird, having registered for the Pfizer jab when I posted this topic on Wednesday the 18th, I decided to go back and see where the available appointments were currently at, and when I pressed Pfizer, it showed 12 September, the date I was booked in for, but will all the time slots having a 0 for the number of people having booked, whereas when I booked it showed the actual number of people booked in the time slots for that day. I also found a check status online tab under the vaccines to choose, it then asked me for my passport number and when I put it in, it said Mr...my first name and n/a which is what I put for middle name and there was a number 3 under my name. What to make of all of this I have no idea as I still haven't received an email confirmation from them, suffice to say I know number 3 doesn't sound right because there were at least 20 bookings for the appointment slot I chose on the 12th September. I also had a look at AZ and there are bookings for the 5th September with the number of people who have booked for appointments in the time slots. Anyone have a clue ? Should one try their luck and try booking an AZ jab if the site allows one too because having already registered for the Pfizer, maybe one will get stopped ?
  8. Just another normal day in the LOS, hear no evil, see no evil, just keep the money coming so that things can keep get done without delays.
  9. So all this deflection, meaning he has been waiting on the 12 million additional Sinovac vaccinations to arrive to give to "dirty farangs" and when the farangs find out and ask the pretty nurses, where is Pfizer, the reply will be no have. This clowns comments remind me of when you loan money to someone, they keep making up BS excuses and always avoid you.
  10. Agree, however for those of us who do wish to indulge in some imported items from time to time, it's still worth it. Come to think of it, tradies are still cheap, e.g. had the local rice farmer come builder in today, his work is clean, built our house, still standing 5 years on and no issues with anything. Anyways wanted a double power point in the laundry and one directly behind it in the room that butts up against it, suffice to say back to back double power points, we also wanted one in the kitchen where we have the exhaust extractor fan switch, so he connected a single socket within the plastic casing/power point, also wanted him to move a single socket in one of our double power points which had a light switch in the middle of it, so that the light switch would now be at the end of the casing/power point, and lastly for him to disconnect an external wire to our entry gate lights as we no longer use them. Now in Sydney Australia you would pay a qualified sparky 2,640 baht as a call out fee, this guy charged us 300 baht, suffice to say I gave him 500 baht as we would like him back to do other work, but is always busy, we had to wait 6 weeks just for this work. We had the materials and they cost us 250 baht. For me, it's not the food, or anything else that is expensive, except for private health cover, as that will chew into 20% of your annual budget, but go without it and expect what comes, a stint in a private hospital could set you anywhere from 500,000 to 2 mil + baht, depending on what your diagnoses is, suffice to say I don't want a hefty amount to pay out, although I could afford it, I would prefer to be insured and that is why I pay 120,000 a year for private cover.
  11. Check out my post with the video in it, if that ain't high powered, I don't know what is.
  12. Where the hell do these clowns get these weapons from ? The public and police are lucky this guy didn't start shooting. Bangkok Hilton 10 years straight, that's the maximum for this penalty, no doubt he will get the minimum being 1 year because daddy will have friends in high reaching places and some dosh changing hands. His father should accompany him for at least 3 of those years for stating that he left them in "his" pickup. The wife should take the opportunity to get out of there quick smart unless she has a few loose ones up top, as it could be here next time. Check out the noise it makes below:
  13. I have also paid for Moderna, but in full, for me and the wife, no updates at Udon Thani, although we do hope it does arrive in October because if I do get a email confirmation from BKK Hospital in KK for my September appointment, that will mean I will get the 2nd dose of Pfizer in October, so won't require the Moderna jab till next year as a booster (if required), I don't see why not, I could make sort of like an annual Influenza shot in say the following October as opposed to losing my 3,300 baht. What is more important is that my wife gets her Moderna jab in October i.e. if it's on schedule and when I go again the following year, she can get a booster as well, kind of like his and hers, matching jabs....lol I remember when we went to pay, I said for 2 and my wife said you must love so much Tiruk, I said don't get ahead of yourself love, need someone to cook and look after the kids, an uppercut was her reaction, a playful one that is ????
  14. I like that part. Have never liked the him since he put pressure on the AFL to remove Israel Folau for his Facebook post comment. Long of the short he threatened to pull 10 million of Qantas annual sponsorship for the game. Folau, a real hero sued the AFL and was given an undisclosed amount in an out of court settlement, he did refuse 14 million at one time, nice pay out for someone who took on the corporations in trying to silence his religious freedoms...lol. The guy is a garden gnome, I won't use any other words because I will be banned. I agree that if people don't want to get vaccinated, then that is their right, but they will find that travel will require proof of vaccination, that said, we all know that vaccinated people can be infected as well as unvaccinated people, however if those unvaccinated get infected they will more than likely end up in a hospital. Sort of a catch 22 situation, whereas you can have a plan load of people vaccinated and if one of the vaccinated is infected, then the plane load of people are more than likely to get infected. Maybe they should have vaccinated and unvaccinated flights...lol

  16. Just thought I would let those living in or around the Khon Kaen area that you can easily register for the Pfizer or AZ jab by choice, for those who also want Sinovac, you can choose that one too....lol I have not yet received my email confirmation for 12 September, but they did say I would so fingers crossed it won't be too long away and I will update when I do get it. I live 180 kilometres out of Khon Kaen or a 3 hour drive according to Google Maps, so wish me luck. Here is the link, and to the right of it, you can choose which vaccine you want by clicking on it and then answer the easy questions. Note, if you do not have a middle name as I don't just put in n/a, if you don't it will keep asking you when you press save, also as I am over 60 with an underlying condition, I only pressed the greater than 60 button and left the underlying condition button as it said it was only for those under 60. Good luck lads and I hope this helps some of us in Isaan get vaxed asap. https://it-nurse.bkn.co.th/index_vaccine.php
