  1. For those with similar needs longer term I have a "BTS sky smartpass" which doesn't have the short time limit. I've been using it since my wife gave it to me over 2 years ago; says it is valid for 5 years with a 2 year limit on stored value since last top-up.

  2. Sadly another "accident" in a history of far too many. Crazy drivers for the most part who think that they have the absolute right of way over every other road user. Compounded by vans with weak body structures, too many seats crammed in, and capable of speeds far greater than the suspension and brakes are up to.

No point in imposing speed limits on them as they will simply be ignored. They need to be equipped with speed limiters and tachographs with heavy penalties for tampering and driven only by people licensed to do so via a proper driving test.

How many more have to die in these vans for action to be taken?

  3. It would be interesting to know how many appeals are successful. If the percentage of successful appeals is very low (which I am guessing they are) it would make sense that they would attempt to discourage it.

The answer is earlier in thread .

"Figures are never up to date, but in 2014 the number of immigration appeals was around 70,000, I believe. But, that does include asylum appeals of course. The percentage of that 70,000 that were allowed was 26%. Around 17 -18,000 ?"

That is a way higher number of successful appeals than I imagined.

It would be interesting to have more data on that; either they get it wrong too often or they are beaten into allowing them by the scourge of HR lawyers in the UK.

  4. thailand is finnished..i dont care what the brain dead rose tint wearers say, this shows a huge problem with THAIS and their society ...land of smiles anyone dont you just love the gentle orange robe wearing culture bah.gif

The monastic culture that you try to blame has nothing to do with road racing gangs.

I t might have; they get their vehicles blessed by the local monk and become invincible. I've even seen pictures of wrecks in a temple to prove that it works...
