  1. Ya got me booting my 2022 HP laptop. WoW needs AMD GCN 4th gen, it has AMD Athlon Gold 3150U 2.4GHz. Not good. I do have 8GB RAM and WoW needs 128GB disc space. I have 183GB free. I'm no serious gamer, just a casual wow player. Trying to learn to play with keybinds now, instead of clicking - just as a personal challenge.
  2. I agree 100%. I'm considering that. Two setups is not convenient though. A real gaming PC is expensive isn't it? I don't need liquid cooled but we don't use AC. I used to build gaming PC's but can't be bothered now. Still, I puke in my mouth a bit every time I see a vid showing MS pop-ups or screens. Apple has its quirks. Manufacturers and devs understandably don't want to deal with it. But Mac is far better and I'm willing to deal with scarcity of games and gear to avoid MS for now.
  3. Good! Now do something about the parking mafia. We drove to the pier area and just decided not to go. I wonder how much business the cafes and hotels on Ko Lan miss because the parking cost is crazy?
  4. Fact. If a goof like me knew some stuff, makes me suspicious how CNN etc could NOT know.
  5. Where can I buy a Mac compatible gaming mouse and keyboard in Pattaya? I went to Tukcom and IT Center, got a Logitech M502X. After 4 Logitech staff and 8 hours trying, the Logitech G HUB affter would not see the mouse as active and I couldn't set it up. It worked as a regular mouse and I could keybind in WoW, but not set it up or adjust it. Lazarda has a Corsair M65 Ultra but they can have left click issues, per reviews, even with their optical sensors.
  6. My wife's pictures were bad so I did this. And her iPhone had "lens correction" disabled, so I toggled that on. OK!
  7. I inspected a 2nd story house fire. The daughter left her laptop running and it was sitting on the comforter. I don't like ambient emf or rf so it charges in another room, NOT on a blanket!
  8. I bought a printer at Big C that said Mac compatible on the box. WRONG. After much research I found it was no longer Mac compatible as stated by the manufacturer. I returned it within 7 days at Big C for a refund but spent 3 hours while staff had to search, research, and make many calls - to believe me. I got the refund. Solution: (you won't like it, I hated it) I got a HP Smart Tank 515. I had to get a cheap HP laptop, register with Notes or whatever spyware they required me to accept, and register my printer. THEN my Mac would see it. Everybody says theirs worked just fine on their Mac but things change. I did a lot of research. As tgw said above, current equipment is trickier than old. Maybe used?
  9. Agree. I saw a vid of a soi dog running out of a driveway into the street. He ran into a scooter. The driver was wearing a helmet but it wasn't strapped. It flew off, he went OTB, and he died.
  10. I'm fully vaccinated and not antivax. And I did see a misinformation campaign but the accusers were the guilty party. A drug with a decades-long great safety record, which was used by millions, was under a quasi ban for use off-label. The reported danger was sudden death from heart arrhythmia. In America, both political parties fell in line but not due to science, due to politics. Stupid. I won't name the medicine because there's such a hysteria over just saying the word, but it seemed effective in early co vid variants. The medicine's real problem was not heart arrhythmia but an expired patent - no firm makes billions. In fact, studies show it was actually Remdesivir that can cause arrhythmia and bradycardia (low heart rate). But at $1k a pill, it's okay! When some truths come out, and I optimistically think they will, it might get interesting.
  11. Thanks for this! Hope it plants a seed. I always keep in mind that things written by humans are written by humans. ???? "Take what you need and leave the rest" applies to even the best, but I always try to take what I might need and stuff it in my open mind. Cheers.
  12. RIP indeed. 62 years of service. Funny he became managing director of the Mission he was kicked out of for bad behavior early on. He was making serious bank in a Beverly Hills marketing biz when he took the gig at that Mission, I've read. Thanks for sharing his memory. A cassette tape I heard in the 80's made me laugh when he told his story about getting tossed into a jail cell. The truth had clearly set him free and I needed to be exposed to that all I could. Now, a guy I see daily is never called on and he sobered up in 1959. He just ain't one of the cool kids I guess.
  13. Smart people try to explain things to me all the time but I just read studies and see what stupid people try to explain to me. Nature
  14. Yep! Add a little research and I bet you'll probably find airborne particulates too. Infection rate is important when looking for a surgeon but nearly impossible to discover.
  15. What is it that happens between the surgeons mouth and the wet tissue?
  16. What is the purpose of the mask in all surgical theaters everywhere on planet earth?
  17. People who ridicule mask-wearing would never tell the surgeon to not wear a mask before their surgery. I sometimes ask them why surgeons wear masks.
  18. I read studies, I guess I'm odd that way. Especially for things that impact health. A post may interest me but I always always need to research it. Especially when it's medical, usually on pubmed or Semantic Scholar, before I consider acting on it. I listen to proven trustworthy doctors and PhD's lecture or interview on YouTube but have to filter them first. I'm always looking for where I'm wrong so I can adjust course. That just doesn't bother me. If there's an RCT with a big n= and tight control that says masks never worked and never will, I'll stop. But the studies I see saying they don't work are garbage data. People saying they wear a mask when it's under their nose, for example. Hard to control for free-living, self-reported nonsense data.
  19. Thanks! One place in the US responded and spit-balled their typical price, $8,500USD. :cough: I may just use TurboTax again - I didn't live here for 330 days in 2022 - if I can't find expert tax help in Thailand.
  20. Yes, thanks. As I recall, we used a TM30 at immigration to get the residency certificate. Can't remember them asking for the owner's housebook until my first 1 year extension of stay 2 months later. This was Samui immigration.
