Thailand doesn't provide a suitable Visa for your requirements. In the past it was fairly easy to live here on tourist Visa's but this seems to have become more problematic over the years and with the appointment of the new showman head of immigration it is likely to get harder.

Because the British Embassy are saying you don’t need the letters but Thai immigration are saying they do need the letters. Until all the immigration offices have a written exception clause that British citizens can just show bank statements it is going to be a mess.

We can’t assume anything until we get clear written guidance from Thai immigration ????
At at the moment it will be 400/800k in a bank account only.

Still the question of why it is only why it’s only the British Embassy taking this action as the others do not do anything different.

A street side restaurant we go to sometimes has a lady out the front who has a drink stand. We buy our drinks from her and she helps us with the menu as it's one of those where you write down your own order. She proudly says when we pay her for the drinks "same same price Thai Falang" which is nice of her not to overcharge us but kind of sad that she has to tell us.

I’ve had that, suddenly jolt back awake when drifting into sleep. For me it’s usually when I’ve drank too much caffeine throughout the day. Restless leg syndrome is something different. I’ve had that too and what helps me is taking a Zemax magnesium/zinc tablet before bed.

A Thai national interviews foreigners to find out. And apparently we are all happy about it ?

You know you’re getting ripped off when they write the Thai prices in the Thai character set. Such as ๕๐ instead of 50.

I'm sure something will emerge. How about upsetting the students?

Couldn’t do that depth perception test due to not being able to use my left eye. Kept getting up and checking the box and then guessing when to press the pedal. Passed it in the end after several attempts.

The biggest danger to me when I’m riding my motorcycle is the cars and trucks. Erratic driving, drunk, speeding, suddenly pulling out in front of you then going really slow, blacked out windows so at night they can see <deleted> all. This is what they need to crack down on.

Do the tattoos match? I am surprised that they did not show the man's tattoos as they are visible in the beating video. I am however, surprised at how quickly they identified him. Was he under surveillance, or was it CCTV info?
Whatever the case, if this is the culprit he deserves the lengthy sentence he will get. Unfortunately, I fear that the other inmates will be at risk from this psychopath.
Yes, the tattoos match.

He originally said the watches were lent to him by friends. And now it’s just a friend.
Back in January:
He told reporters at Government House on Tuesday that he borrowed all of the timepieces from friends and only wore them infrequently. The watches have since been returned to their owners, he claimed

I'll be avoiding this fish. As they say, "There's plenty of fish in the sea". No need to risk it.
When the whole incident happened, I messaged my ex gf (who's Japanese) to say how awful it all was and offer my sympathy. She got a little upset and said, "It's not that bad. It's all under control. Why do foreigners say it's so bad?". I didn't wanna get into the whole 'Japan Vs The World' thing with her so just said okay. Another reason why I wouldn't touch this fish.
My wifes Japanese and because she has not lived there for many years has a different opinion. A lot of her friends and relatives have had mysterious health issues since Fukushima and one of her friends young daughter died recently. She is very aware that the Japanese government are hiding the reality of what is happening over there.

This is typical of the Japanese stubbornness to force exports of possibly contaminated food. Fukushima is still a disaster zone with lethal amounts of radiation.

Worst response to an accident I've ever seen. It's as if the poor lady lying in the road didn't exist. I hope this video is used as an example of not what to do.

My wife was working in the UK for a Japanese company that had manufacturing plants in various Asian countries. She always had issues dealing with the Thai office and had to complain a lot to the Japanese manager working there. Now she has lived in Thailand for a while she understands what he must of been up against and feels bad about how she treated him.

Why using article 44 and just use the law?

Well, it didn't go to plan. The immigration officer looked at the passport and consulted with the supervisor and it was a clear mai dai. The options were to either leave the country and apply for a non-o visa at an embassy or they could sort it out for 8000.
Had to end up paying for this. At least we got some smiles and wai's from the officer, along with a 1900 baht receipt.
Just hope they don't expect this at renewal time.
