There are still lots of questions.

I’m wondering if immunity from Covid-19 is a thing - can someone catch Covid-19 a second time within a couple of years and experience serious or life threatening symptoms ?

I’m wondering if most of the country (UK) have been exposed to Covid-19 or not, or if they will in the coming months.

I’m wondering if Thailands numbers are real or if Covid-19 has not already spread through the nation and most were asymptotic.

I’m wondering if Thailands numbers are accurate, and if Covid-19 spreads through the nation once Thailand opens up if its not going to be hit incredibly hard.

Wonder on - nobody is going to be wandering until this all settles down 4th quarter minimum. Next year likely (excluding EU and USA unless they get their act together)

KTM bikes are available in Thailand....

But where to get them serviced? They have come and gone and come again leaving large parts of Thailand with no service and few qualified mechanics. Pity or I would have bought one.

I guess I want something that can go more or less anywhere I want to, but not too fast, and not too slow.

If the CRF/KLX250 feel fast enough I might go for one just because its cheaper. But if they really do feel too slow, I might have to get something bigger/faster.

I want something nice and relaxed, but capable.

I will update when I have done some test rides.

ps I think I saw you on youtube, didnt I? I enjoyed watching that ????

Yup I was on the tube - hosting a friend from the UK - TMF; Andy The Missenden Flier

  4. Consider the Yamaha MT03.

Fast (160km/hr) so no problem on the highway.

Much cheaper to buy and run than the Duc (Ducati are much more expensive to service and parts are premium priced)

A Yamaha can be serviced in every town.

I looked at and drove the Ducati but it felt cheaply made and a bit all or nothing in throttle action. Great for hooning about on - but not as good for day to day. I went with the Triumph Bonneville instead. (Unfortunately I wrote that off)

When I reach to the key rack now it's the MT03 I pick every time unless I'm planning a trip and need luggage.

Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki are all much cheaper and easier to keep on the road also are easier to sell later.

I can't understand why you are comparing slow and relatively cheap bikes with the Duc, have you really thought through what you need as well as what you want?

    how exactly ?

maybe in a few months or years, people like me will be vindicated that have been saying

it is the FREE vitamin D from the SUN that kept numbers low and the poor don't have money for airco rooms

Every day you go on and on about vitamin D being the miracle - you are starting to sound like Trump.

    Show us any evidence!

Why have the Southern states in the USA (Texas, Florida or Southern California), which get lots of Sun and vitamin D got so many cases if vitamin D is the answer? What about the Middle East?

Show me any verifiable evidence and I will retract - if not please stop posting this nonsense.

  6. Buy a taser (they are illegal but are sold everywhere there are tourists) NOT to taser the dog but the sound is very scary to dogs and they will run from you.

I love dogs and have two of my own, but after 2 bites and one crash caused by dogs when I cycle every morning; I now carry a small one that is pretending to be a cigarette lighter and just press the button if dogs come near.

Exactly how the CCP thinks and exactly opposite to how the real Free World operates. They, the CCP, not the Chinese people, have always misunderstood the noise of freedom. It will be their failing to the delight of the Free World and Chinese people everywhere.

Best start treating them like the really big third world thug they are. Demand they come clean on their dangerous biolab and military biological research. If not shut them down.

irony is way above many on this forum!

Which will last about a nano second once the Thais ship in thousands of tourists.

Sand dunes replaced with deck chairs, foreshore covered with jet skis, and the smell of BBQ chicken wafting on the sea breeze!

Luckily no deck chairs, jet skis, banana boats etc. are allowed within the National park which covers this whole region.

The Chinese tourists, who used to come here in droves, never used these beaches out of town; as the buses didn't take them there.

Ao Nang beach in the town however was a different story with an endless stream of longtails taking the tourists to Railay and the islands.

Some regions are aware of the damage tourism can do and are doing something about it - witness the closure of Maya Bay in this National Park.

This current crisis can only help our local environment to recover faster.

  9. Ask to see the docs and check them.

    1. They will name the guarantor

    2. You will also see if the sum has undergone FBI - (Farang Boyfriend Inflation)

Banks just don't lend that much over the value - and are well aware of the Thai habit of finding inflated valuations from legitimate

    sources (for a consideration).

Tread cautiously and find the whole picture before you consider any action. Don't do anything suggested by Thais until you have checked it out with a qualified lawyer. What a Thai person can get away with is not the same as for a Farang - especially in these times.

  10. I recently went through this process of probate in Phuket.

    1. You need a lawyer

    2. Death certificate, will, plus any other documents (bank book chanotes etc.)

    3. Appear in court before a judge who will verify everything and ask lots of questions; then grant interim probate if he/she is satisfied.

    4. Wait for statuary period for full probate to be granted - this can vary, I was told, but in my case was 1 month.

I did not inform the bank or any legal body in Thailand and continued to draw funds on behalf of the will's beneficiary during this period.

In total 6 weeks start to finish.

I am told that having the will witnessed by and lodged with a lawyer helps speed the process.

PM me if you wish to have the contact details of the efficient and honest lawyer I used in Phuket (it took me a long time and some bad experiences before I found him!)
