I have looked it up and it states this, Take your email marketing and email delivery to the next level. Grow your business with our powerful multi-product platform. (https://elasticemail.com/) It appears to be well known etc but for some reason Threat Protection on Nord VPN goes into conflict with it.

Query regarding the maintenance by Asean Now.
worrab replied to worrab's topic in Forum Support Desk
I have just read this thread and seen the cure. Turn off Threat Protection on Nord VPN. Makes me wonder how safe this site is now since they have gone to elasticemail. Having had a quick look on the elasticemail website, it does actually look okay so it is strange that Nord VPN does not like it. -
I read this and then turned off Threat Protection on Nord VPN and I could then open the news items. The problem only arose after the maintenance done over the New Year by Asean Now!! Something to do with elasticemail is causing the conflict so the question is, how safe is elasticemail??

Tried that with Chrome, Edge and even Gmail but no difference. Maybe the trouble lies with Outlook but Gmail disproved that. Very strange. -
Query regarding the maintenance by Asean Now.

I use either Chrome or Edge and an ethernet connection. All worked fine before the maintenance. Open the email from Asean Now and then click on a topic. Another page opens but is blank with Untitled on the tab. No problems with my Iphone or Fire tablet so I am wondering what has happened to cause this on the laptop. -
Maybe it is me or the laptop I use but since the latest updates and maintenance done by Asean Now, I am unable to open any of the topics within their email. Very strange as it all worked properly before the new year and now all I get is a blank page marked Untitled! Have tried a different browser and turning off my VPN but to no avail. Any ideas?

Yes, I am not disputing this but when the IO was looking for the TM6, I showed the boarding pass to which he then nodded his head and found the relevant entry stamp. So it is not useless added material as you put it, just a case of making life simpler. It seems you have a slight problem with this though!!
-
It may not be required but it does make life easier. Absolutely no problem to photocopy it at home and put in with the other documents. I showed the boarding pass for my first 90 day report to clarify why I did not have one. It is all about making life easier all round even if things are not legally required, as such.

Can get them all at Makro. Have them in my cupboards now.

Hua HIn Immigration . score 100%
worrab replied to Luuk Chaai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I went to Hua Hin at the end of November to renew my extension of stay based on retirement. I had booked an appointment online which proved to be a worthwhile option. Arrived around 09.30 for the 10.00 booking and had all papers checked downstairs before going up to the Office. Very busy!! Saw the female IO sitting by a sign stating Online Appointments, showed her my booking and was told to take a seat. There were at least 5 or 6 in front of me for the renewal but within 5 minutes I was called to the counter and proceeded to have my paperwork dealt with. All done and dusted by 10.20 and certainly back up the OP with the 100% comment as has always been the case here. Very efficient and polite making this Office one of the top 5 in the Country based on comments made on this forum. Well done Hua Hin. -
Sleepy driver crashes into power pole and home in Thalang
worrab replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
A pick up truck is a a vehicle with a normally open load bay at the rear with either a 2 man or a crew cab, engine at the front under a bonnet. That in the picture is a small delivery truck which is totally different. You can tell by looking at the cab showing the engine will be under the cab. -

That is not a pickup!! Good reporting as usual..........lol. -
We have never had problems with Kerry. They either call beforehand or send me a message to state they will be delivering. These are for CODs by the way. Even for just a straightforward delivery and no cash involved we still get a phone call. If we are out then they are told to leave it in the basket by the gate which they always do. Perhaps it is because we have a regular driver and this makes the difference.

Last month MIL had 145 units which worked out at 3.76. Our house used 190 which works out at 3.92. October bills, MIL used 124 units which came to 3.72. We used 259 which equated to 4.08. So there is plenty of variation here in Bang Saphan Noi.
-
Here in Bang Saphan Noi once you have added service charge, then there is a discount for some reason and then add in VAT the charge works out at 3.76 per unit.

I reckon that this bus is too old to have such a function. It seems that exhaust brakes are an unknown quantity over here and I have only ever heard one operating on a hill in the 7 years I have been here. Being a retired HGV driver, I cannot understand why retarders and the like are not more common. Maybe they are fitted but nobody has shown drivers how to use them??? They make a heck of a difference when used correctly on your braking. 44 tonnes down from Tunnel de Frejus into Italy on a winding mountain road on an exhaust brake is an absolute must otherwise brake fade and worse will occur.
-
Might be a simplistic answer but even including your statement, all these things should be taken into consideration. And if he knew the road then why did it runaway. I too suspect that his approach was too fast, had not come down the gearbox and relied on brakes which were going to fade rapidly. Who teaches these drivers and tests their capabilities? If at all!!

I do agree with you but the way that Thais obtain their licences leaves a lot to be desired. Start with the basics by getting that correct and things may improve. The system is a complete joke as we all know and have written about this fact so many times. There is no way that this form of training, and I use this word very lightly, is acceptable in this day and age. Things have changed since the day of buffalo and cart!! Then the police could go out with patrols, unheard of I know, and catch the chancers with no licences, drinks or drugs. But this is all in cloud cuckoo land as we all know.

I am due to go to Immigration at the end of the week for an extension of stay. I already have a 12 month statement from Bangkok Bank which I requested through my branch last week. This covers from the date of my last extension granted date (2nd Dec) up to the date of the request for the statement. Then to fill the gap, I will go in the day before going to Hua Hin to obtain the letter and a 6 month statement. I also put the passbook in for an update. The account I use for the extension is purely for that reason and does not get touched from year to year. Only interest payments and account fees show up. All bases are covered and even though some may think overkill, I have no problems with this routine.

Meant to have stated that this was with Emirates. Apologies for that omission. But I do like your reply.
-
The algorithm was not working earlier this year! I bought my flight for around 80,000 THB in January for BKK to LHR return Business Class flying July. In the 3 months or so preceding July, the price had gone up to 140,000 THB. So I would not trust this system at the moment.
-
I think you will find that doing this will make little difference as you are taken to the airline site based in the country of origin of your flight.
-
You are right about cheap flights but the cheaper seats are just not around. I have booked in Oct for next July with Emirates for over 3000 pounds Business Class. But all the extras plus flight times suit me perfectly. But I did search around and funnily enough they were not the most expensive. Etihad, Qatar, Thai and KLM were more whereas the likes of Swiss or Austrian did come in cheaper. But you get what you pay for.
