  1. 300-500 baht? I was insane to leave Th for 1 minute! just a shop. No special stuff? Wow. Install. not download. Thank you.
  2. I wasn't clear. I bought Windows 10; I own it in disk form A computer tech suggested I purchase it and Office. I'm not a computer tech, so I wondered if a shop in Ch Mai could download these programs for me? I don't think a Dell place would be interested because it has Linux OS now, not what it started with I found several places in the US who were happy to do the downloads, but I thought Ch Mai would be a better place; spend money locally. Maybe I should get it done in the States? Prices range from $125-175. I hope this makes more sense.
  3. I have a Dell Latitude laptop & want to download Windows 10 (with key/license from Microsoft) & Microsoft Office Professional Plus (2021) also from Microsoft, with license/key, unopened. Suggestions for a computer shop? I'm close to what was Kad Kuan Saew mall on Huay Kaew Road. Thanks!
  4. Hello, Not sure where I'll settle this time. Never got health insurance before, so need guidance. BTW am a Yank , got my visa lined up, must use my small income carefully. Thanks!
  5. If you're a senior citizen you can. You still can if you're an adult but it's not as easy. I wentbefore the rule change to the place I'd gone before & it was fine. If the rules say they cant they'll look up your records etc.& IMO you'll get it.
  6. That's the point: like others, I might need to stay a long time. The stats are that it's already warming. Planning will be crucial. Thanks for your comments.
  7. there are externals that jump in unexpectedly that can be a challenge. Like the businesses ouside Wororot Market that flooded so badly 2-3 yrs ago. They lost all their stock, everything. They did keep cheerful, but a person does wonder how if in their shoes they'd cope losing everything?
  8. It was a wonderful place for me 20 years ago, Thanks for your opinion. What makes it awful for you?
  9. Thanks for your elitist opinion. I lived in Th before, it flooded but this looks worse. Hoped for some specifics. Nice & safe? You should read the news. Good luck keeping your head in the sand.
  10. The only vaccine I'm worried about losing is polio. I remember the kids in leg braces, the sugar cubes that freed us from that fear. It does return, you know, without vaccination...Maybe if parents could decide individually if their children would be vaccinated for polio?
  11. Plus heat waves when the rain stops. I'd like to return, but the news makes it look dangerous! What's your opinion? Thanks!
  12. Still inexpensive, with nice womens cotton dresses, fresh produce, pharmacies? Thanks.
  13. Hello, or a Tops anywhere in Chiang Mai? Thanks.
  14. Any advice for health insurance in Chiang Mai? Thanks!
  15. Mots is one, Key is another. Any others? Thanks.
  16. Going out to Kad luong (Wororot Market) the day the it flooded has twisted my mind: now I'm worried about floods stopping me to get to SUV to take my flight. The train was my first choice, but they've stopped running again. The South is supposed to flood, including BKK. I've decided to take the bus. Flight goes Oct. 29 2024. Where can I learn about this? Any links to this info? Thanks!
  17. My situation has changed & I might need a 15 month visa, after all. Mott is one specialist in Pattaya. Do you know any of the others? Thanks!
  18. In Chiang Khong maybe that was why the green bus didn't have a same day return. I don't think Lao has that rule yet. I still have some hopes that I can go somewhere & come home the same day. (Remember Mai Sai?) Thanks for the feedback!
  19. I need a new stamp from across a border close to Chiang Mai. (I plan to leave Thailand in 1-2 months.) I am a US citizen with a normal passport. Is Savannahkhet a good choice? I'd rather not stay overnight.
  20. A land crossing is what kind of stamp & getting a consular visa is what kind of stamp? Flying in gets a stamp at the airport? Anything else? (I'm trying to determine how to cross into another country.) I think I'd count from Jan. 1 2024 onward, but after that I don't understand. Hope this is clear enough. I'm a US citizen.
  21. Fly into Vientiane or Udon to get the 30 day stamp? Thanks.
  22. Dr Jack: Yes, that is the extension at immigration that will expire end of May. I wish to stay in Thailand until the waiting list clears for my apt. back home.
  23. My first visa from a Thai consul (Vientiane) expires end of May. May I get another one there or at a different Thai consul? I'm a US citizen. Thanks
  24. Now to deal with Lazada. Thanks very much. I am prepared.
