excuse if off topic, as I have 2 dtadlines I am trying to coordinate: My wife is not eligible for the online filing and we missed the 15 day mail in.

our 90 day is due on Jan 13 (a Sunday) so that menas we need to file it in operson on Jan 11. no problem there. 

Our Retirement extension is February 11.

Do the regulation allow for us to visit Immigration on the 10th or 11th January and file for an extension of retirement? the 800,000 baht has been on deposit for 3 months.

the worrying never stops, esp if you're when you're in your 70's. and have experienced 22 years of annual extensions. my wife piggy backs on my extension. This has been a discretionary practice by IO's.... there is always the possibility that they will take it away, requiring us to show 1.6 million a year income or a similar amount in the bank. we have already experienced the reaction that the 800,000 in the bank is not enough... our IO has asked us to show that we have money coming in and that we are spending it, during the previous 12 months.                                                                      Joe: I have a question about how early I may apply, prior to my retirement extension date (there are more circumstances which I will not post here). Thanks to all for the great support group. I believe that without that support, Thailand is not such an attractive place for Westerners to retire to any more.

Thanks, Joe. I was hoping so. The IO in Surat issued me a reentry permit, in August. I was hoping they would accept a TM47 as well.  I guess the concept of a national Immigration information grid will happen in the next century. ????

I need to go to Surathani next week. My wife's previous 90 days reporting has been to Nakohn Si Thammarat (where we live).  Assuming I bring along authorization to represent her, is there any reason why I cannot file the TM47 at IO in Surathani? 

Thanks, mostly to Ubonjoe. You're brilliant, as usual. You indentified the problem - my wife renewed her passport in Jan. 2016. last time she left the country was 2015.

my fault, didnt have written authority from wife last time. I just read the whole set of online filing instructions. they look pretty clear. but it is 4.30 pm and an online application will not be processed until Monday, which will be 2 days short of the advance filing requirements. i am still ignorant of why when I press 'submit' page 1, it does not go to page 2.

thanks. i spotted that too. The nationality menu has a prepared list. Canadian is listed in English and Thai. so I clicked on that, rather than type in "Canadian". I have a screen grab of my online submission.. whichi compared with the previous TM47. No luck in finding any discrepancies. IO says my wife MUST attend., or else get a doctors certificate., which  requires an additional and longer car trip. we'll just have to grin and bear it. Next time, I will revert to using Thailand Post.    thanks for advice.

previous report was filed by post. i copied the exact details on to the online form, filled in the Captcha security code and clicked 'submit' . the differences are: the previously filed hardcopy TM47 did not ask for DOB, nor airflight #. It did ask for address and phone number, which is not asked for on the online submission menu. I must be missing something? Wife is really worried, as a car trip to IO is very difficult for her and it is to late to post in a TM47.

Thanks for the good news. I submitted my online 90 day, on Oct 5. Still no email confirmation today (Oct 12) as the deadline is Oct. 20, should I resubmit it?

The owner of condo that has a blue house book for it can be shown as house master in a yellow house book book based upon it.

Immigration will not know you have moved until you inform them of it and you could put any date on the form when you do the change of address.

Thanks for that info., Joe. Maybe you can expand your advice, to cover my situation, please?    I have 2 residential properties,  in different provinces. I want to move my address of record, for Immigration reporting purposes (90 day and retirement visa extension) to the other province. The second property is an apartment (not a condo). I have a Blue Book issued by the company which built the apartment. Since I am a foreigner, my name is not recorded in it. I have a registered 30 year lease, as well . I may have to hire an immigration agent, since the matter is complicated by the fact that the company has gone out of business.  What would be a useful start, is to know this: can a Blue Book for an apartment be used as the basis for seeking a Yellow Book? TIA. 

My update: bought the Zinsano Atlantic 11. it sat idle for the past 3 months, until I got a work crew in, 2-3 weeks ago. The washer has preformed admirably (although not as visually attractive as using  soapy models, to which idea my wise wife drew the line the sand).  several small and large projects around the property. I had all (40 meters) of the Winsor gutters pressure cleaned in half a day, whilst they were taken down. We were refinishing the exterior of the house in smart board, as the house is at the beach. where top line metal paint does not preform well, if not applied properly.   I've spent a small fortune using metal paint, over the past 12 years,  (nobody in this region knows how to apply metal paint properly). Smart board allows me to switch to a water-based paint finish. final note - is punning a lost art.  ?

Bosch Aquatak sells on Lazada for 5400 (1000 baht discount).

not sure if i am off-topic: I want to buy stuff at Amazon.UK. For delivery to (a) Thailand and (b) to the UK.  My Canadian Visa card is not accepted by Amazon.UK. If I obtain a Visa card from my Thai bank, will that be accepted by Amazon?

I guess what I am asking is, which country's bank Visa card is accepted by Amazon.UK. ?

Thanks, Joe. Translator got the paper submitted yesterday. I will keep your links. I have a feeling they will require a new one each year.  can you refer me to a thread where I can ask if a photcopies of 3 months passbook is needed, in addition to the certified printout by the bank? Thanks.

Update: I downloaded the Application Form. Seems a bit of an odd format: heading reads: ''APPLICATION FOR LEG'' . Other than that, I will fill it in,  and once I have my new Visa extenestion stamp and the translation, I will post it using EMS.

The fee for express service is 400 baht.

Any idea how I should pay the 400 baht. Cashiers cheque ? or could I trust cash, as I will miss the EMS deadline for the weekend.

Man, this is going to be awfully tight - If my wife gets only a 7 days extension. from tomorrow (9th)

I have heard of people being told before they need 15 days remaining on their permit to stay but I have found nothing written to support that statement.

Brilliant: I am following  your advice, Joe; asked the translator to stamp, date and colour scan a copy back to me. Then I will follow the flow chart.

We will ask IO for a 7 day extension for my wife tomorrow. This should allow me to submit my newly extended Visa, togethr with the application form you described.

3 weeks ago, I heard (first time) that our local IO requires a newly certified translation of my marriage certificate, for my wife to ''piggyback'' on.my Visa.

Both our Visas expires Feb. 11, 2018,

I submitted Marriage Cert to Canadian Consular Services, in order to get a new stamp certifying that it was a true copy.

Having received it back (in record time, thanks Canadian Embassy); I sent it off to a Bangkok translation service I was recommend to. They have delayed, to the point where they now tell me that they cannot submit their translation for approval by the Dept of Foreign Affairs, because my Visa does not have 15 days remaining on it.

There must be some option for an extension, but I 'd appreciate having a clear understanding of my options, before going to IO tomorrow (Feb 9). This is incredibly upsetting for my wife,  who suffers severely from anxiety attacks since being caught in the tsunami. 

As best as I know (20 years living here) I should be able to get my Visa extended. Thet question is,what will they do about my wife?

Translation Service wants a POA, in order to submit a Thaia translation of my Mariage Certificate for approval by Department of Foreign Affairs. Does anyone know where i can download a generic form, in Thai, from ?  Thanks. 

I am having a somewhat similar problem. I just had my Marriage Certificate certified by the Canadian Consular Services.

Now I need the Certificate translated and then have the MFA certify it.

I am being hung up by the service a friend recommended, as they are too busy to answer my email and to give me a price quotation. 

Can anyone recommend a translation service near/at the MFA building (other than BHI Media) ?
