when I am approached by farang they are usually wearing a white collared shirt and a tie and want to talk to me about God.. I am usually polite talk for a bit tell them not interested and wish them luck. If they get pushy... I push back and tell them to trust me they don't want to speak my mind on the subject of religion.
I have never bothered trying to just say Hi to a farang for the sake of saying Hi... in most cases when I talk to a farang its because i see they are lost or confused and could probably use some help with directions... or i see they are having no luck talking to the locals and act as a mediator
I am also 100% thai but most thais assume I am a foreigner... Not sure if its the way I dress or the way I carry myself..
I was born and raised in CA

First it is racist and stupid to assume people speak English because they appear to have a white face. This isn’t America. What is “Hi!”? Something a child says. In England was once considered polite to greet passersby “How do you do?” Various cultures here, all have different standards. I was told if a stranger smiles at you in Russia you call a policeman. A Russian man wears a grimace, not a silly grin.
Everyone in my Condo is very friendly, we greet each other, help the old people with their packages, mostly Thai. Well last year before the AirBnB ban I got on the elevator and was surprised by an unfamiliar couple. The woman was in a full Birka, with only slots of a metallic eye mask showing. . I got the feeling I wasn’t supposed to say Hello to her. Was I wrong?
Then you have the Foreign weirdos who think they are superior and avoid all contact with other aliens for whatever reasons. I just bow subtlety to people. If they want to talk I’ll leave it up to them.English is kind of an international language and used by almost everyone traveling abroad... people from China, Thailand, and most Asian countries will try and use English to commincate when traveling abroad. IE thai people traveling to japan will try and use english if they dont know japanese and will rarely try to use thai first

Allot of tourists come to Thailand to have fun, and some of them act like children and forgot how to behave like an adult... thinking it's their vacation they should be able to do whatever they want... drinking way more than they should and doing stuff they wouldn't normally do in their home country... doing things without thinking about what the consequences of their actions...
And there are those tourists who have been around who have fun but also remember to stay alert, be respectful and mindful of local customs but wind up getting treated poorly from thai locals because the tourists who arrived before them were jackasses.

It's their fault for not firing him. I have no sympathy for this company and because of their inaction will always hold a negative impression of this company.
there is something called loyalty... A western company would have immediately held a board meeting and removed him... just like how a western company will lay off workers in order to save a few extra bucks... that's not how thai companies work....there was a Thai CEO who sold off his house to pay his workers before laying them off... In this case, the board is sticking with Premchai because he has probably done allot for them... so they arent just going to ditch him as soon as things get a little tough... Do I think he Premchai is a corrupt SOB who thinks he is above the law and needs to be fully prosecuted? Yes I do! .... would I like to see him voted out? absolutely... Allot of the board members probably knew/know Premchai's father and as stated innocent until proven guilty... (the sob is totally guilty judging by the amount of evidence being presented)

Bureau of Epidemiology statistics, 370 people died in 1980 of rabies. In the 1990s, the annual average human death rate from rabies was around 300.
Last year, the bureau’s records showed just 11 deaths. This year, so far, there have been six. So, are we experiencing a huge surge in rabies? No. We are not. Rabies is endemic across Thailand. What we are seeing is a panic driven by social media and sensational reporting. It’s not an epidemic.I think it depends on how you look at it... it is quite possible to have a massive rabies epidemic without having a massive rabies human fatality rate... IE there is, a rabies epidemic happening within the canine and feline species. the fact that the human species hasn't been severely impacted thus far is quite fortunate.

Somebody dies of a cat bite so dogs have to die? Land of Stupid!
This is the problem right here.. things just get twisted by opinions and flawed logic!
Whats stupid is you believe or think that dogs are dying because of a Cat bite.
they are killing dogs in an attempt to contain rabies outbreak... both dogs and cats carry rabies.... did someone die because of a cat bite? Yes... is this direct reason why they are purging dogs? No...
THey probably would have came up with this plan regardless of the cat bite

Donald had to sign it on Friday because he's rarely at the White House on weekends anymore because on Friday afternoons he usually flies off to one of his golfing resorts in Air Force One (at great expense) for a weekend of golf...usually goes to Mar-a-Logo in Florida.
I am assuming he is billing the office of the president to pay for his trips... IE he is using US taxes to pay for his stay at his hotel/resort and making a profit doing it... (not mention all the secret service agents and staff that travel with him)... He basically drained the swamp right into the White House.

being able to communicate via English is a nice skill to have considering its an international language that is used throughout the world... but if you are a farm girl with no interest in leaving the country or real aspirations to get a higher level of education then there is no point.
Also the Thai government has pretty much already tried to make English the secondary language of the country... everyone knows the English alphabet, but overall knowing or not knowing English doesn't affect the daily life of most Thai citizens.
its very hubristic to travel to a foreign country and get angry or agitated that the people native the country aren't fluent in your native tongue and look down on them because of it.

Not every male has the same taste in women... believe it or not here are some straight males out there that aren't interested in a tall blonde with a nice pair of boobies.
Not to mention there are so many other factors I can think off...
-cant find a woman he likes in his home country (100"s of reasons behind this one)
-maybe there is something off about the guy that women in his home country don't like (again hundreds of reason behind this one also)
also why should you care? if the guy is happy that's all that matters and can probably do with or without your approval or judgement!

It isn't about being in the same financial boat, it is about overcharging!
But it seems this is far out of your sphere of comprehension.
some people don't care cause whatever thai people charge it is probably considered reasonable or a bargain in their home country.
taxi service is at least 300 baht and up converted from US dollars in the US... not to mention when some people travel on vacation they are way more liberal when spending money because they are in Thailand to have fun not pinch a penny.
massage parlors could probably charge up to 500 baht an hour to a tourist and they wont care... while you think this might be a rip off in the US it would easily cost double that.
I have a few friends who visit Bangkok twice a year and they tip 100 baht I keep telling them that's allot but they just shrug off my advice.
IE tourist is partially to blame for the double pricing.

Quick, quick, it was her fault so I had to kill her. Another Thai guy with no sense of taking responsibility for his actions.
Geezer
or... he was simply explaining what happened?
People snap sometimes... like the farang who got sucker punched for taking a bat to some guys car and trying to run him over after being slighty cut offed... or the farang who committed by murder by beating another guy to death because he thought the other guy was mistreating a woman.
some people have anger issues and loose control... its a trait shared by humans not just thai people

I was taught shouldn't be doing CPR on (just) an unconscious person ...CPR if breathing and heart has stopped..
Not just unconscious.this is correct... the point of cpr is to get them to breathe on their own or keep their heart pumping long enough for help to arrive.
Not uncommon to crack peoples ribs in the process...
CPR or rescue breathing is to only be performed on those who have stopped breathing.
first step of CPR check for breathing... IF they are breathing No CPR required

"Surachet - the deputy commissioner for the tourist police."
And people still think the Tourist Police are there to assist tourists ..... they're there to POLICE the tourists. To make sure they don't cause trouble.
just because they make sure tourists don't cause trouble doesnt mean they dont also assist
Chinese woman defecates in Bangkok taxi, refuses to pay clean up charge
in Bangkok News
she probably should have said something sooner about how badly she needed to use the bathroom.. or used the bathroom at terminal 21 before getting into the taxi.
I would pay for the clean up unless I felt that the taxi driver didn't take my warnings seriously and took his sweet ass time about getting me to a bathroom.
