"Investigator Pol Lt Colonel Chartchai Nakpaksee said the suspect confessed that he destroyed palm trees and other trees at a public garden close to Krabi River out of anger when his girlfriend left him"

well she certainly won't be coming back after she see's you looking a complete tool on the news. those poor trees, what did they have to do with it. anyway, should have just took your frustrations out on a bar girl, would have worked out cheaper and more fun. each to their own i guess

did you seriously just advocate violence against another person? You are about as dim-witted if not more dimwitted than the tree abuser

  2. anyone think this is hilarious?!?!?!

they crack down on people riding in the back of pickups because they are trying to reduce traffic deaths because its dangerous and turn around and allow too people to ride in the back of pickup trucks during a time of year where they know there will be more fatalities and injuries related to traffic... they might as well allow people to ride in the back of pickups during Songkran also!

    Another terribly disturbing story.

Hopefully, both kids can make a full recovery and move forward.

The emotional scars are going to run pretty darn deep I imagine, not sure how a young child is supposed to emotionally and mentally cope with their own mom trying to murder them.

In any case, anyone is capable of snapping under certain circumstances.  Some people can deal with more bad things happening than others that's for sure.

Sounds like this woman might have had a very low breaking point or was suffering from long-term mental and emotional anguish.

And you blame Thai youth ALONE for all the problems,....... just take a look at the parents, they SET a GREAT EXAMPLE right here,..... "Oh, it's okay to stab someone if you're angry, even if it's your own children, dad, any other relatives or friends...."

What a GREAT example such parents present for Thai children across the Nation.......

And you wonder why in their youth, Thai kids and teens result in violence in school...........

    Sick SH***********

what the hell are you babbling about???

what I said is not incorrect, in fact you just repeated it, as far as helmets are concerned they will protect from a drop to the ground from seat height, however wearing a helmet in Thailand may not have a huge impact on road safety and fatalities because there are many other issues involved that need attention first, it would take a detailed study to determine this but from what I have seen here - many motorbike fatalities involve horrific impacts were a helmet would have made no contribution at all.

lets start with the basics... enforcing helmet laws is a good start

  6. considering how many people use motorbikes in this county, the lack of use of seat belts, ... exceeding recommended passenger limits in/on a motorized vehicle, drivers working long ass shifts, and pure reckless behavior of some...  it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that Thailand would have such a high accident/fatality rate.

Almost forgot the sheer amount of corruption and apathy from law enforcement regarding enforcement of road safety!

  7.  "she was educated mainly outside Thailand"

Gotta ask was she really qualified to represent Thailand? she was probably prepped and "told" what thai culture and customs are in preparation to provide a  proper answer is to impress "thai" judges to win the title of miss Thailand.....  however she probably knows very little in terms of whats really happening in Thailand without experiencing first hand what its like to grow up in the country.

Granted the king of thailand was also educated in a foreign country but he spent many years visiting rural Thailand to find out first hand what his people were going through....

  8. first off where did you meet this girl? secondly, you screwed up from the very beginning by agreeing to a salary in the first place.

Its one thing to help her pay her bills or give her money to take care of her children because you care about her... but to just give straight up give her money just because she was nice enough to give you a lay on a regular basis? there is a word for this type of person and i think you know what it is...

more than likely you will be dumped and she will move on to another less demanding Jon.  Also the fact you call it a salary says allot..

another outcome i can see happening is she does as you tell her and winds up getting a job at the girly bar.

    Why?

It isn't only Chinese that cram into lifts.

I have been in many lifts in Thailand where they cram as many people in as possible. It seems there is "always room for one more" even though the alarm rings. I must admit I get worried sometimes.

i have never come across what you speak off... i always see people patiently waiting for the next lift if its even remotely full.

In Japan the elevators sound a warning and will not move if overloaded.

they do the same thing should occur Thailand.. as soon as the limit is hit an alarm will go off and will continue to beep or make a sound and will not move until the excess weight is removed.. all floors pushed will reset and must be pressed again also.

not sure what actually occurred but i think they simply tried to ignore the warning... or someone skipped some safety measures during construction to save a few bucks... probably the latter
