  1. If £13m is the real price, it just goes to show how much Levy wants you to improve. Not a lot. But if you guys are happy to spend £13m on rubbish, well that's just dandy.

But that's just it ! he wasn't rubbish when we bought him :

1 Lionel Messi 46 FC Barcelona 2 Cristiano Ronaldo 34 Real Madrid 3 Radamel Falcao 28 Atlético Madrid 4 Álvaro Negredo 25 Sevilla FC 5 Roberto Soldado 24

    Valencia CF

Mind you that's quite ironic coming from someone who's club paid 50m for rubbish !!!!

How many did Soldado score the season before? This is genuine interest as I want to know if it was a one off.

  2. I hadn't seen the headbutt incident before so thanks for the opportunity to do so. If I only watch the Belgian I think definite sending off and twit. If I only watch the spurs player I think what a wind up twit (he was targeting the Belgian), he deserves everything he gets. I would have sent them both off as a pair of idiots, and hope refs will eventually do so.

  3. I went to the TCT in person (with my wife) and had a waiver withing 2 hours. Unfortunately, I then changed school 1 week later and have never been able to get a waiver since. This was a few years ago so perhaps things have changed.

    Hi,

You'd still be okay for a second waiver. Not sure when you'd stopped at that wonderful Isaan school, and the cheap Archa at Nong Mek afterwards. Lol

Please see attached link, ( I know that there's a newer one available) , check your status, as it's possible that they didn't really register you back then.

If you're not registered, or on your first, you'll get a second, by sending them some certificates, etc..to show them that you'd done something.

So, if you're still working, are you employed as a teacher, or assistant? Please page me, as this doesn't have to be discussed on an open forum.

I had a look on the site and they have given me 2 waivers. One from before I went with my misses (25/12/2010) and a second one when I went with my misses (04/04/2011). I have no idea about the first, and they said nothing about it in the April. I figure that's the end of that though.

Just get in touch with your local Rajabhat. Enroll for a weekend course for a BA and you'll get another provisional. It's never too late and you might be the best English speaking guy in class. Lol.

Once you've got your BA, you'll have your TL good for five years, without speaking Tenglish. Good luck.biggrin.png

I'm already doing a BA in a Thai College, 14 months to go. Thanks for the supportthumbsup.gif

  5. I don't think anybody would pay 40 mil for rooney. Too much in wages on top for too few years. He may be worth 40 million to utd, but even replacing him with another 40 mil player could work out cheaper. Personally I think it could be the right decision for utd as ronney is proven at the level he plays, and can win a game on his own; and that is what united seem to need more of this year. To build a team around him would be complete folly though. Do you think he will still be at utd if they have 2 years out of CL?

  6. With our defense we will probably slip up too many times on the run in to rightfully secure CL. Luckily i believe the teams we are battling against are as unpredictable as us. We are much more fun though.

  7. Ofcourse the bright side for Liverpool is that they can now focus all their attention now on top four.

But if United win the Champs League, top 4 won't be good enough tongue.png

Top 3 now for my beloved Liverpool. No way arsenal will last the pace. I see a downward spiral at the emirates (unless webb is reffing all their gameswink.png)

  8. We know the best team we have to win games, and this was not it. i believe we should play to our strengths and not alter our team, let's let them worry about us. Our team are good enough to beat any team, don't worry about them, let them woory about us.

By the way I think oxo is a great player and would suit our team down to the ground

  9. give over you daft get. you name's fuc_king wooloomooloo.

What are you wittering on about?

Back to the football. The mighty 'pool to smash the Arsenal in the FA Cup on the back of last weeks drubbing. Chihuahuas.

you said "Anyway, what's with the girlie username, bender?"

which sounded like a bit, well a lot, of a <deleted> comment. so i tried to make light of it. and yeah, back to the football.

nah, we'll play a different arsenal side on sunday.

Yeah, apparently arsenal may rest a few players to keep up their league push.

  10. I'm not very happy with giving anybody my email password, and would suggest to anybody that is going to do this that they use a dummy email account.

Or do I have to use the email associated with my thaivisa account?

Anyway as an experiment I am trying to register with a dummy email account and have given them the wrong password, after all they don't need my password to send me an email

The email asked for is the one to send you the download link, the password is for login to their system for the account created there, it is not your current email password, you can choose to use whatever password you want.

Yeah, at first I thought they wanted the password to go with my email address, but it became obvious that was not the case after I experimented with the system.

  12. I am also researching the establishment of a language centre to teach English to adults in my locality.

From reading the above, is my interpretation of the regulations correct?

I can open a registered business which teaches English from some premises, employs NES teachers and Thai employees in the ratio 1:4. That business only becomes an 'informal school' when the MOE issues a school licence, with tax-free profits for courses with an approved curriculum, need for a Thai Director with MA Education etc.

That business is not an 'informal school' until it obtains the MOE licence. But it can legally operate prior to that point as a registered business, paying tax/VAT etc, just like any other business, without the need for an approved curriculum, and without the need for a Thai Director with MA Education.

In other words, when one establishes a language centre, it always starts off as a business, and then becomes an 'informal school' after the MOE issue the school. licence further down the line.

Is one obliged to seek an MOE licence? Or can one simply operate as a business throughout the life of the language centre, (without the tax advantages of being a licenced school)?

    Simon

    A very nice, succinct post.

  13. I think he's ok staying in Tachilek for a few days, as long as he doesn't stray too far west.

The local resorts have agencies at Chiang Rai airport and I cannot see that you would need a visa, indeed I cannot see that they could issue one; so the border stamp must suffice.

just to make this clear or myself. You think that a stamp at the border and no visa would be Ok if he stayed in Tachilek, and that he would not have to pay for the guide?

if this is correct he will be very happy

He must tell them how long he will be staying when he enters Tachilik. He does not need a visa. He can travel for sure in the city and I believe the area extends for about 10k.

THere are hotels in tachilik...I believe they are not the greatest standard but he will be OK as long as he keeps away from the casino rooms.

Cheers mate i'll tell him tomorrow

  15. I got the latest from Tachilek tourist office. The tiny office next to the entry office, at the bridge.

Some of this info has already been mentioned in prior posts, but here goes:

If you come across from Mae Sai, the rules for going on to Keng Tung or Meng La are the same as what they were months ago. You can travel up-country, but you (or your group) are required to hire a gov't approved guide for Bt.1,000/day. You cannot go to other places in Burma.

If, however, you come over on a bona fide Burmese visa (gotten from Bkk), the you can travel to other parts of Burma from Tachilek, BY PLANE, not by bus.

Either way, you need to tell the immigration office officers, before they stamp your passport. If not, they will restrict you from leaving Tachilek.

A friend needs to stay in Burma for 1 day and night, can he simply go over the border get a stamp into the country, and stay in a nearby town, or does he need to hand in his passport and hire a guide even though he is only staying for 1 day? Also what would be the best place to stay, should he just stay in Tachilek (if possible), or go to one of the other towns you have mentioned?

    Thanks for any info
