  1. Congrats to Ireland, you had a plan that blew Wales away. We were woeful though, and at times seemed far away from any hope of retaining the championship. I don't understand why we didn't use Hook, or bring Tipuric on earlier. What we had on the park was never going to turn the game around. Priestland can kick a ball but doesn't have enough guile to win a game, and Warburton was ineffective enough to get Tipuric on earlier. AWJ should be captain, and Gatland needs to figure out a way we can change games. Big chance of us losing another 2 games this year as England look good and France have vastly improved.

  2. Gerrard beats up DJs and Pele can't get it up without the blue pill

Respect to Pele for knowing about the blue pill (do you have proof?), And is there something wrong with beating up DJs. I've seen them set on fire and thought the night got betterbiggrin.png

No comment about how you feel about the vilification of football players though. Kinda like weeing in the wind.

  3. I believe United's last home game is May 3 v Sunderland.I expect that to be Ryan Giggs last appearance and the fans can give him a fitting farewell.

Apart from the occasional quality, weighted pass Ryan doesn't have much left to offer and no one else knows it better than him.

A coaching and possible management career awaits and thanks for all the great memories.

Yep, I'll never forget him shagging his sister in law.

It really is unfortunate that all we seem to remember now is the bad things about a player. Beckham is a clothes horse (oh dear), Giggs was shagging his sister in law (not sister), Gazza was a drunk (recognised as a disease), George Best was an alcoholic (ditto) Gerrard is some kind of criminal (again, what!), and even Pele was a womaniser. These are not things that role models should be doing, but originally i was taliking about Beckham and Gerrard; I will again say that I think they are role models because of their contributions to their communities, if they are not then who do you suggest are? Unfortunately most people have somebody who could give you a story to turn your a head, it is why the famous live in fear of being targeted by the paparazzi. Look Mother Teresa up on the internet and see how a proposed saint can be dragged to the gutter; what chance do footballers have?

  4. The example Steven bloody Gerrard sets, is that a joke.....??

The guys got away with more charges than Arthur Daily did parking tickets and, to compare him with Becks is frankly ridiculous....!!!!!

    Name them .

Why, he was found not guilty, and that will be your defence......!

Besides the actual point though that in comparison with David Beckham, Gerard is thoroughly detestable individual, who seems to only be beaten into second place, by his wife.

The thoroughly detestable decision was obviously arrived at in the same way you decided Arthur had gotten away with so many charges i.e. litening to fantasy. I think Gerrard and Beckham are both great role models and care about the community, which is why I made the original post. I know neither personally and could be way off the mark, but so could you.

  5. Looking back and looking at the man and player, I can't help but think you should all be very proud of David Beckham. One of the best things to come out of manchester.I love Steven Gerrard and the example he sets, and Beckham is in the same league. Proof that not all footballers have to be ( censors have removed this word).

Interesting removing the final word. I though I did the using a symbol thing on it anyway.

  7. I am only looking for a diploma or certificate that shows I have up to date knowledge of general science.

I'm not sure you'll find anything that satisfies this requirement because the fundamentals of science have changed very little in 35 years. Yes, there have been great advances made in stem cell research and string theory and so on, but I doubt you'll be delivering lectures on any of these topic unless you're teaching a master's program.

I'm also a subject teacher (+ TOEIC) and my degree is all science and math, and almost as old as yours. It's still more than suitable for teaching algebra or trig or magnetism or anaerobic glycolysis or covalent bonding to today's science students because our understanding of these things at a fundamental level has changed very little, if at all, since we learned them.

I find that the simple act of teaching these subjects is the best way to stay sharp.

I agree about the science, but an up to date qualification would no doubt impress more than a qualification I gained as a youth. it would also show my enthusiasm for the subject. perhaps i'll just complete the Alison course. Cheers

  8. If Scotland had anybody who knew how to break a line or make a good decision in attack the game would have been very different. They totally blew a first half that they dominated; second half all Ireland

For a long time now our attack has been as blunt as a rusty butterknife, particularly in Tim Visser's absence. He's a player that makes you laugh, but sadly not often enough... Let's wish for a speedy return

    SC

Hogge is class, but Laiglough (can't spell it) was way too one dimensional for me. How can you beat Australia yet be so ineffective again't Ireland? better luck against England.

I forgot his name is Victor...my bad

  10. He is here to stay, is he the man for the job who know;s but his track record does not fill me with confidence, will stick by him and the team until he gets the sack or who knows he might get it right.

Sixteen games left = possible 48 points.

I wouldn't discard Man U from a CL place just yet.

I think you mean discount, but then again...

  12. in the US they have the Praxis tests including subject tests which are for teacher's certification. Or did you want a course that will teach you science to get a degree?

I am only looking for a diploma or certificate that shows I have up to date knowledge of general science. English is my first subject, but being able to teach science, and having proof of that ability, is a good thing to have under your belt. It is only for Prathom, so it's nothing very complicated.

You could possibly get a student subscription to New Scientist on line, which will certainly start you off nicely.

I'd like to do the same, but they don't have a sub for pensioners!

This would be great for study but i also want some kind of certificate at the end

  13. Whilst i agree with all of the above i also think its fair to say that if Suarez and Sturridge keep playing at the level they are you'll make top four regardless of the lack of transfers.

it's a hell of a gamble though. and it's also just not responsible management - the manager has clearly wanted to strengthen the squad in particular areas and he keeps on being let down. and there's this big £22.5m alberto, aspas and ilori-shaped elephant in the room which could have been used to clinch deals in this transfer window or be better used to give the squad more senior quality and depth last summer. praying your two strikers don't have a dip in form, a dry spell or (gods forbid) serious injuries isn't really a smart way to have a tilt at the top four finish.

There is also the fact that we can't rely on scoring more than the opposition with a defensive system that is already stretched. We have to score at least 2 a game because we always leak one. How long is Lucas out for?

And....there you go. We have to score two, and that is not always possible

  14. Hi the course that i would reccomend is the 120 hourr TEFL It is done in about a month. i had a young guy working with me tht was a little older and did not have the course adthe kids ran him ragged at the Mattayom level.

If she is going to tech then i would recommend that she stay with the lounger kids in the lowerI agree

I agree, try for youngsters, more fun less headaches.

I still think that spending a month completing a CELTA to be a teaching assistant for 2 months is overkill. She will not be on her own, so classroom management is irrelevant, as is planning a lesson.

  15. West brom easily deserved a point, Kolo's mind fart not withstanding. I still think our midfield is our weak point, and though mignolet won our point for us he needs to sort out his distribution. He needs to look at some videos of Rena.

  17. Your daughter will find work easily (even without qualifications) if she wants to help out in a classroom, all she needs to do is decide what she wants. Female teachers/assistants are in huge demand, though unfortunately not for a couple of months. I agree with a previous poster about the lack of consistency with teaching for a couple of months and would suggest that she looks for temporary work (possibly as teacher cover).

Something i would also suggest thinking about is whether your daughter wants to learn something or have an experience. if she wants an experience she can do that in any school (though some students can be difficult), however, if she wants to learn something then she needs to work with good teachers. Unfortunately, I think your daughter will become a trophy teacher for a few months unless you chooses the right school.

Is a qualification necessary for a couple of months? Probably not.

  18. I teach English and science to prathom students, and really enjoy the science. I have no formal quals in science (apart from O level physics and chemistry, which are from 35 years ago), and would like do some study that will give a cert in general science. i have looked at the Alison course, which I believe i will need to pay for eventually, but was wondering if anybody knew of any others. I am looking for a course that will give me some kind of proof of study and a pass grade, and need it to be online and free ( or as close to it as possible).

    Cheers in advance

    Neil

  19. the Welsh were piss poor, expect more from the French against a boring defensive English set up. maybe even a bit of flair perhaps like the olden day's. sad.png

I missed the Wales game, but a bad French team beat an England team who blew it. Ireland for the 6 nations ? We'll see tomorrow

  20. Whilst i agree with all of the above i also think its fair to say that if Suarez and Sturridge keep playing at the level they are you'll make top four regardless of the lack of transfers.

Agreed. Those two have been on fire, particularly Suarez - player of the season by a sizeable margin - and if they keep on performing, every reason to think you'll hold your own. Hopefully they won't. wink.png

I don't know the stats for those two this season but they are going to be quite phenomenal and yes, Suarez the best player in the league by far. I also have to admit that Sturridge is a better player than i thought he was.

Sturridge has been proving me wrong too, although i still can't help having this nagging feeling that he's just enjoying a purple patch that will pass and he'll return to being the sort of player he was at other clubs.

Bloody long purple patch it is turning into though, granted. A great buy.

Ditto Sturridge, he has much more to his game than I thought. except penalties of coursebiggrin.png

  21. Whilst i agree with all of the above i also think its fair to say that if Suarez and Sturridge keep playing at the level they are you'll make top four regardless of the lack of transfers.

  22. If we fail to keep in the top four this season I will be upset, but I think we have done well so far and won't be suicidal. However, I will definitely believe that this transfer window was pathetic. Imagine how Suarez will feel, knowing that we were in a position that we could have kicked on from had it not been for our incredible transfer debacles. To keep a player of his caliber we need to show him that we are serious. After this window nobody else will take our transfer negotiating seriously, why should Suarez? IA is not up to scratch for me, and the best transfer we could do is his to another FSG investment.

  23. Well it's looking increasingly like we will sign nobody. I find it unbelievable that in our current position we are not trying to secure somebody as cover for at least the DM position. Our rivals must think we are stupid, and not believe our luck. Watch out for united coming up the rear.

I forgot about Yevhen Konoplyanka, but i'm thinking more about neccessity than embellishment.

  24. Wayne Rooney's latest demands to Manchester United are purported to include 300k p/w, influence over transfers and the club captaincy!! huh.png
