  1. Please don't tell me you identify as a canine now? ???? ???? Woof
  2. This certainly highlights something. Why not? Many teachers in Thailand are paid less than waitresses.
  3. I do. But cisgender is not a name that everyone appreciates being called. It's ironic that a member of the LGBTQ community doesn't understand that. It's a ridiculous double standard In recent years, the LGBTQ community has been labelling others "cis" while at the same time demanding that they are not labeled in a way that displeases them
  4. It's actually an insult in Japan, I read. It isn't the done thing in Thailand, either, but they are aware of the concept and that farang countries do it, so they play on that in tourist areas.
  5. Cisgender is a label that's been made up - it isn't an objective fact. It's no more a simple objective fact than calling a ladyboy a man. The fact you can't see the double standard here is ironic and hilarious.
  6. I'll remember to have the same attitude when I am misgendering a member of the LGBTQ community. ????
  7. I think it would be interesting to find out our philosophy on tipping in Thailand. What's your philosophy on tipping? Do people tip in your home country? Has your tipping ethos changed over the years? Have you ever expected a tip? Enjoy!
  8. Exactly Why is it okay for the transformers to label us as "cisgender"? I don't want to be called that. I am just a man.
  9. Yeah, and the ones who look poor actually own a home, car, and many rai of land. Their net worth is at least 1-2 million plus - this goes for virtually every household in farming communities That's not poor; they just don't have much liquidity. Now compare that to the average "rich" farang English teacher on 35k a month, living paycheck to paycheck. It's all smoke n mirrors.
  10. None of them wanted to admit on national television that their interests align with his. He showed he knows nothing of local culture by saying the quiet part out loud.
  11. My haircuts have always been between 100 and 180. Always a Western style and great cut. Not in tourist areas tho
  12. Oh really? That's good. I thought we had to go to the Trendy building on Soi 13 in person. How do we do it now?
  13. Does it have be cross borders though? This minor was procured from somewhere, unless she just walked up, knocked on the door, and submitted a job application.
  14. I just Googled the definition: to deal or trade in something illegal.
  15. Can you apply by post, I wonder? Speaking of residency certificates at CW, do we need to take along evidence of TM30, or just latest 90 day report?
  16. I recall back in 2020 when I was applying for my driver's license I was told to get an Affirmation of Residence from the British embassy, which I did. Now, I don't see that as an available service. Did that really change? Or can we still do that at the British Embassy?
  17. I wonder if there will be less black people loitering around Sukhumvit trying to peddle some business? I'll report back tomorrow.
  18. Have any of you guys seen the video of the CEO talking about his hiring strategy? He said he doesn't hire 50 year old white men cos they are not inspirational enough. No joke.
  19. Very poor, more like. They use a bucket and their hand in poor villages. Well, I shouldn't say very poor, cos they have enough money for a bum gun. They just got used to the hand.
  20. I'm not following the logic here.
  21. That's true. It depends where you live obviously.
  22. I mean, really, it's not actually that cheap for Thailand -- you get large bottles of beer for 80 baht around Khao San Road area. Sukhumvit is just extortionate - but we're used to it - Silom even worse.
  23. Hello fellow cheap charlies, So, I think 80 baht a bottle is as good as it gets downtown these days. Let's share the pubs that you think are good with good prices. Where do you get your 80 baht beers?
  24. Yeah, like that's just a few hours drinking. The young ones go to nightclubs. I wonder how much they drink?
