Query re tourist visa application
ourdon replied to talisman01's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My visas are all multi entry. I don't wander as much as I used to but it still comes in handy at times. I was thinking of Satun which is a one day uncomfortable road trip or flying over to the consulate in Saigon and taking a week or so to poke around. I miss the Bahn Mi -
Query re tourist visa application
ourdon replied to talisman01's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm just coming in on the same visa the next two weeks. I don't leave until May. My visa was still approved. If you do a visa run you can obtain the same visa again allowing you an additional ninety days with extension. I did show that I had a place to stay till departure in May and a few days in a Bangkok hotel on arrival -

Anutin Downplays Covid Regulations for Chinese Visitors
ourdon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Anutin is the person who had the responsibility of safeguarding the lives of Thai citizens. He gave them Sino Vac and Pharm Now he claims no special restrictions on Asian tourism are Necessary I reaaalllly hope that Buddhism is real. He will come back as an insect. -
Stocky, I can see where the figures come from and are pleased that over 100 million Thais' have been given some modicum of protection. I'm still concerned for everyone here when travel opens up for 1 billion, 412 million tourists with only the Sino twins for vaccines and a great desire to be first in the buffet line. They can overwhelm the Thai medical system in a few days.. I think the whole world is giving maximum attention to this issue. It looks like every country is putting up restrictions

Same here. 4Pfizer and caught Covid last spring. It was pretty easy going though and I just self isolated till it cleared up. I gather Faucci was correct, it does not confer immunity but helps to keep you out of the morgue. Xi is just suffering from a classic education ... He thinks he is King Canute

Recent data from Italy back up the assessment that China's daily Covid count might be closer to 1 million. Citing the Italian Ministry of Health, American news outlet Bloomberg noted roughly 50% of Chinese travelers entering Italy were testing positive for Covid-19. This is what the authorities are welcoming??? I'm not promoting a view on pro or anti vaxxing. I'm just concerned for the millions of Thai people that put their faith in their government and got Sinovax vaccines.

Why is Thai immigration so <deleted>ty?
ourdon replied to gejohesch's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is a possibility that the IO is just responding to pressures from within their organization because they have found indications of document forging from a nameless Northern country. Just speculation from a report Tim Newton gave a few weeks ago. My story with no details has the saving grace of not including Jewish space lasers.???? -
Bene is multicultural.. It's been a few years (decades) since I used it as Spanish for "well chilled", but the bartender always knew what I was saying and would have a few bottles of Pacifico in an ice bucket for me. Some good memories in there.
-
May not have anything to do with this Tim Newton mentioned forged documentation was found by TIT. One country (that shall remain nameless) seems to be the problem. It may be a problem for everyone as immigration is now checking and rechecking everything they can. Tim didn't lead with that story or put particular emphasis on it, so just take it for speculation

There is gain with a Thai massage. The comfort and good feeling tend to come after the massage is over. A gentle walk say one or two kilometers after seems to extend the benefits., for me anyway. An oil massage offers instant comfort and little benefit, again, for me anyway There is a third option that combines the two. A Thai (supposedly) massage with a bit of oil. I find that this option offers the worst of all worlds. Little comfort from the oil and much less benefit from the Thai. Just before I got tossed out of LOS last time I started trying (when I could take the time) a one hour Thai massage followed by a one hour oil massage with a different masseuse.(same shop) I brought a bottle of high SPF lotion with me so the masseuse could give me a final coat so to speak. After I finished I took about a one hour stroll up and down the beach. After the stroll, I find a little larynx exercise is in order. Pass the contents of at least two well chilled (bene lades) bottles of San Miguel over the larynx. The benefits are almost immediate.

Safe way to get from Siem Reap airport to the city?
ourdon replied to coralia's topic in Cambodia General Chat
While I do agree with you, I have been mugged on the metro going into Athens from the airport. It can happen anywhere so just be awake and aware of your surroundings. -
This is quite interesting. Beer for breakfast!! It seems a bit strange to me.. I guess I was raised in a very old fashioned manner. I've always thought that tequila or mescal were the only acceptable "breakfast alternatives" ???? One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor!

That makes more sense. This is a "Be very careful what you wish for" situation. Even if these yachts turn out to be "quayside queens" basic maintenance to them can easily run three to five million US dollars per year.. That's mostly just to keep them afloat and doesn't even cover the cost of restocking the caviar. Given Thailands international reputation for continuous, exhaustive, attention to detail over an extended time frame ....... What could possibly go wrong???

"WELCOME???" hmm, strange term for the way I feel. They are welcome in the same sense that a hog is welcome to the county Barbeque. This ain't neutrality. This is December 1941 again. I am so, so, disappointed.
-
They most likely won't article five the situation. Russia is so short of any precision missiles that it looks like they missed the whole dam country (Ukraine) with two of the missiles. That being said, they HAVE engaged in hostile acts against a NATO country causing damage and murdered two of its' sovereign citizens. I think Thailand will have to make a decision quickly. Whose side are they on??? Claiming neutrality while welcoming hundreds of thousand of belligerents Is not going to be a tenable position. The quarantine facilities would work well as a place to house the incoming Russians until Aeroflot is no longer allowed to land here except to pick up detainees and deliver them to the loving arms of the Rodina. If the Russians don't agree with and want to effect change in a country let them start with their own.

I second that. EVA gives a little extra in legroom. I find the seat more comfortable. They also have a flight from San Francisco to Bangkok transiting thru Taipei for under $700.00 dollars.
