  1. Arm ... Arm, not Derriere. That;s for the penicillin. ????
  2. Hmm, So does this include the ticktock bar girls and all the online ladies?? If they have to provide a graphic description of their "goods and services" wouldn't they run afoul of the various obsenity laws?? This is just trying to drum up business for lawyers. Uno mas cerveza bene lades por favor
  3. A good post but my ADD demands a little exactitude. Bill Gates investment company increased its' share in the Four Seasons group from 47.5% to 71.25% by purchasing half of his partners shares for the sum of 2.21 billion. His partner is the Saudi's Investment company, Kingdom Holding Company. The whole Four Seasons group is valued at a touch over 10 billion. The minority shareholders maintained their stakes.
  4. After more than a thousand days of political detention the PRC released the two Canadian citizens and they along with the Canadian Ambassador immediately got on a plane to Canada. Chinese citizen Meng left Vancouver at the same time. Years of effort on the part of our diplomats and government have been rewarded. I would also like to thank the international community for standing besides us. I'd like to thank our Southern "cousins" for their diplomatic pressures on our behalf. When the US federal government achieved a DPA with Mengs lawyers they immediately withdrew their request for Mengs extradition to the US. We could then close the extradition case and everyone went home within hours.
  5. The Chinese government may bail them out ... but I don't think so. They owe 300 Billion dollars. That's enough to even choke the PRC. They are the most in debt company in the world. I think they will be savagely salvaged and broken up into several smaller profit centers. I think the next year will not go well for some Chinese multi millionaires that are heavily invested. Might have to sell the Bangkok condo's. They aren't the Lehman brothers either. When Lehman's went down they had established a major presence in almost every market in the world. When they went down they took every market with them. Evergrande for the most part is concentrated within the borders of the PRC. They should have only a limited effect on world markets. There will be problems and some tectonic shifting in the Chinese supply chains. How it will affect countries like Australia remain to be seen. Damm, my crystal ball has gone cloudy. Needs a san miguel rinse
  6. We ended up spending over $600,000,000.00 dollars to get rid of the bums or achieve some clarity to our political future (depends on your point of view). We got the identical government to that which was dissolved. For that much money I want some positive change .... Someone hung or thrown in jail. You know, an old timey type of election. I can't help but think of a quote from the old POGO cartoon "We have met the enemy and he is us" Why am I out of beer???
  7. Not an issue. That is your E: drive. Your laptop most likely only has a C drive. Your E: drive is probably a USB stick that you plugged in to transfer pictures or files. Plug in the same object and look up the file in file explorer. Luck mate
  8. They may not be innocents abroad, but I don't think brown envelopes were involved. ............................ Wheelbarrows maybe Ahh, the wheels of justice turn round and round
  9. And for the truly over zealous!!! ????
  10. The Chinese will no longer have to fly their troops tourists in. They will be able to high speed rail them in a division at a time. Remember the "Good old days" in 1956 watching all the Russian "tourists" flood into Budapest in their new tourist vehicles known in the West as the T-54 battle tank. If we can read about current history, why do we seem insistent on repeating the bad parts? It seems like the only people with a long term goal all want to be "God" of the world. Shy]te ... time for a beer.
  11. Because it just looks too weird for them to be sitting there hugging an ATM machine.
  12. What Sheryl says!!!!! This seems to be a very overpriced supplement. It sells on Amazon AU for around $58+ per bottle (45 day supply) as compared to 11 or 12 dollars a bottle for similar supplements. Take Sheryls advice and get another opinion at least. You have a choice, live with care a fairly normal extended lifespan or die much sooner in pain. The choice IS yours.
  13. 1. You need to find out what's open. 2. Where in Phuket are you looking? 3. In Kamala one of the beach bars just south of the Novotel had one for rent. 3a. Their hourly rate was about the same as I pay for a weekend. 3b. The forestays and bridles had all been left under tension for years and turned it into a decorative banana. 3c. Bar long closed. See item 1. Good luck. Check with a marina or two. They may be able to assist you.
  14. Drinking, Correct. Sex, no we actually hump the pet moose.
  15. It is tempting, but it will never happen until the Thai people use their bum gun to wash the remains of the unelected government off the bottom of their sandals. We can bitch but this has no place for the farang. It's up to the Thais to develop their own country.
  16. The Thai consulate tells me that the "Special Tourist Visa" program ends on September 30th. What do you erudite gentlemen think the odds are that they extend the program? It looked like a useful visa. 90 days with one extension to 180. The government claims to be trying to encourage long term Western tourists. Why end a very viable visa that does what they are trying to accomplish? The government also seems to extend a program or law just hours prior to its' expiry. The last year and a half has convinced my to look elsewhere for an expat life but I do like the country and the people and still wish to come visit for four to six months at a time. This visa looked perfect for my needs as it wasn't that complicated. The consulate suggested I apply for an O instead of an OA.
  17. Sinovac is not cheap. Do some international price per dose investigating. The Chinese may call it "good will" but ..... you don't charge the customer top dollar for a product and then claim "good will"
  18. I think the novel is alive and well. The same may not be said of the book and the paper publishing industry. I like others here utilize the kindle. Have found it incredibly essential as I wander about. Gotta two hour layover?? poof there's a hundred pages. On the beach?? Pick up the newish waterproof one. Print too small - Make it bigger. Can't see? Up the background lighting so you can read in bed without turning on the lights and bothering the missus. For me it works. I don't wax nostalgic about the smell of paper fresh or mouldy.
  19. If the Chinese say it is not a poor quality vaccine, I believe them. It seems we have a high quality vaccine that doesn't work well against covid delta. semantics ..... shy3te
  20. Now, if they looked like 7 of 9 ............... I'd be very happy to get assimilated.
  21. What she said!!! Just for comparison I think I'm about to get charged around 30,000 Baht to get a root canal in Canada.
  22. Multiple entry visa's lose a lot of their appeal when you can't go to any other country and if you could you might not be able to get back.
