Guaranteed - in every single thread about high speed trains someone brings up the "Thais at crossings" thing.  High speed rail has no level crossings anywhere in the world.  It is either elevated or ground level and completely fenced off - no crossings.  It also prevents livestock wandering on to the track.

Do people really not understand this?

Let me know which part of this movie you don't understand..

Do most upper-middle class families use a maid that comes multiple times a week?

No, they have a maid living in house.

Nope but many Thai still use a twin tub, start with the whites, you can save up to 70% water and also use a lot less energy vs an automatic  - same rewards as hand washing dishes - Europeans are lazy, and not near so eco friendly as they pretend

This may appear impossible since it seems like dishwashers are constantly spraying water, but a newer one does use less water than hand washing. Getting them clean in the sink can use up to 27 gallons of water per load. ... In fact, an Energy Star certified dishwasher can save almost 5,000 gallons of water per year.7 mrt. 2017

And dishwashers also wash much cleaner which can prevent you from diseases. They use hot water which almost none thai kitchen has.

Last week at the embassy there was a guy before me who applied for a TV..he showed them his hotelbookings and all but the clerk found an issue...the guy didn't have a hotelbooking for the day he arrived in BKK, only for all weeks after that. He got refused and had to go home to make a hotelbooking for that first night. He said he would go to Pattaya the 1st night and after that to BKK to his booked hotel but he got refused.

If that is the new reality, Thailand deserves to be devoid of tourists pronto.

I never had a booking for first night, as just looked around for somewhere.

Anyway, who wants to have to book for every night of a holiday? I never stayed longer than 3 days anywhere, and decided where I was going on the spur of the moment.

Oh Thailand, when did you become so idiotic ( being polite )? You had a good thing going and blew it.

Well the guy applied for a tourist visa, so must have had booked hotels for that period, at least for more than 4 weeks or het wouldn;t need that TV. I didn't follow it exactly but there is no privacy at all, they just refuse you through the speaker while the whole room can hear that.

Thailand should make an appointment with the European countries that if a EU national starts begging on the streets they can just bring him to the embassy who will repatriate him/her...no more work for the Thai.

Is it those begging backpackers who caused all this?? There must be a reason why they are so extreme strict these days for a visa. Well, who wants a thai visa anyway with 33 baht for a euro? Better go to Spain.

What has US tariffs to do with imports, they are taxing stuff going in not stuff going out.

He's scared to get the same treatment as China got, more tariffs from uncle Donald.

That's why they 're buying more weapons from the US...to show that they also import enough from the usa and won't get any sanctions.

I have done my non o in January in hcmc. 5 people in front of me.

Very friendly staff. 10 minutes done

Really? You got the multiple non-o there in 10 minutes? It takes a week here in Holland. In that case i 'll also go to HCMC. Did you have to show them many proof of finance or only the 400.000 baht cash on the bank?

  6. Can those red bricks stand a flooding of 6 weeks? If not don't use them. That brick wall doesn't look strong enough anyway...

And where is the opening for the sink?

An IKEA kitchen would be much easyier but can't stand floods and not sure about termites.

Thanks for the replies, some good ideas.

2 of my chairs were ally, 2 steel, wife took the last broken cross member chair to a local who reckoned he could braze it, when it came back it lasted 3 days.

Yes because you can't weld or braise alloy well....best would be to make a new part out of steel.

If you show a pic of the part we also might have tips how to reinforce/repair it but best would be to use steel or titanium or so, no alloy..
