  1. the true(?) reason why he is loosing weight is, he is kind of person who easily looses weight. Point. Fact.

(You) overweight guys might shake your head and say ...what the f... is he arguing about? Isn't that lovely loosing weight so easily...?

But I can tell you it is NOT FUNNY at all.

Again, try to have a serious workout accompanied by specialist's diet advise.

  2. KC is one of the places you'd better avoid early august (unfortunately).

i suggest u check reliable weather report (internet) and decide short-time whilst in Bkk. at least, that's what I use(d) to to after lots lots of disappointment with useless, rainy trips south. All the time I decided to stay KC it was perfect weather in Phuket. Next, I switched, went Phuket instead, guess what happened? Rain in Phuket, sun in KC! Never again, I can tellya.... :o

  3. thx for yr hints folks.

scandinavian church no good deal. almost no time have nothing...

import in small quantity - worth a try.

and - just to give as info - you cannot and definitely SHOULD NOT, never ever EAT snus .... would be the same if you eat cigarettes my dear.... :o

  4. jei er ikke norsk ... men jag pratar svensk ... nik-noi .. at least ...

norrmaennare, forget it ... it's the same as it is about the german try.

switch into english and we ALL do well (imho)

off-side your original topic, just a question to you scandinavian guys (mostly referring to swedish though):

anyone of you having FREQUENTLY delivered (fresh) Snus into Los?

will settle down Los soon and having quite big trouble to get Swedishmatch deliveries into Thailand. Was told via Swedishmatch that Yes they deliver but NO no guarantee that thai customs will allow import.

HOW do you snus-using guys (and girls) manage your daily needs? (aaaah, don't tell me you quit but start smoking instead...I KNOW about that solution...but it's not for me. i never smoked my whole life and will never ever start to do so...)

    tack sa mycket,

    :o

  5. there sure are statistics available but likely not to be found in this forum.

i guess quite difficult to find out unless attaining information from immigration offices or similar.

not even 15 postings? imho, that is reasonable good quote if u consider that most of german native speaking expats seem to have problems to express themselves in other languages.

or they are just lazy (concentrating on *MWD* (Money*Women*Drinking)?

or they are afraid of grammar/style mistakes as you mentioned correctly?

whatever, i don't care much. feeling more comfortable not having to talk german, helps me to improve my english day by day ( :o but maybe I should concentrate more on my thai soon :D )

Yohan, feel free to communicate with me in english. If you have something to talk or ask in german, simply pm me, null problemo.

  6. Yohan I do not think it is a minor (german native talking) group but i agree with 'opalhort' but we should respect that there can ONLY be ONE GOOD forum for expats. and - in my honor opinion - this is thaivisa.com, definitely.

Besides, talking english is the best way to communicate in asia so who-the-f..k cares about german or danish or italian...?

wolfi, AUSTRIA (noch, aber nicht mehr lange)

  7. aaah, forgot to mention:

nevertheless, I AM STILL INTERESTED to hear about Samui´s ongoing.

Even though I try my very best to "forget" my (former) g/f it would a big pleasure for me to read that tourist biz is going real bad in Samui.

    No ppl no money.

What a sh*t, I feel sooooooo sorry for her......

  8. :o

    hej dutchy,

    thanks for your comments.

as a matter of fact my PRIMARY intense was to hear about HOW's business going these days in Samui due to the fact that I USED TO HAVE a "g/f" working there.

That was until approx 3 weeks ago.

Thanks to thaivisa.com and other expat friends (not affiliated with and not even members on thaivisa.com) I finally got my mind up and decided to leave past behind me.

She´s a verrrry new freelance girl and I fell in like (not in love) with her the time I stayed Samui. Have to admit she seems to be after my money and only my money.

Anyhow would have never ever considered to invest in Samui as I do not like the foreigner (german/british) ruled land-biz....my goals are furthermore not in tourism (bar, restaurant) but in import-export. What I am looking for is an island where it is possible to combine both PERSONAL WELLBEEING (nature, SILENCE, bit of farang talk) as well as close to Bkk BIZ-OPPORTUNITIES. I know I would be better off places such as Pattaya or HuaHin but especially regarding Pattaya it is far toooo many germans around .. .and -frankly speaking- those ppl are the very LAST one I want to see when emigrating.

Vietnam is my 2nd thought but too early stage right now. First settle down Thailand on lease-base, afterwards lookout for new spots such as Vietnam, Cambodia or even China.

    Kao jai mai?

    Thanks.

  9. used to have thai g/f.

got a minor dispute with her.

since her english was like non existent and my thai too little as well I disappeared from our room (sipping one or more beers in a bar close by) - left her alone - waiting for further reaction - and (somehow stupid) hoping that she would find her OWN words to explain....

    Ha! What an illusion:

She called me on my mobile about after 1 hour: even though she denied it, it was obvious to HEAR that she'd been asking for 'advice' of whattodo or say to me as kind of excuse.

All (and I mean it: ALL) I understood out of those few sentences was ....PARDON....

WITHN this second I knew she' d been phoning to a female friend of hers who'd been together with a brit for loong, loong time.

So quite easy for me to analyse that she DID not at all think about what to tell me but instead ask for advice.

Thank Buddha, even though I am no native english speaking soon-to-be-expat I do very well know the "difference" between u.k.-PARDON and rest-of-the-world-SORRY .

    :o

  10. guess your origin destination is Phuket.

sorry do not know about Phuket-PP.

ALL I CAN SURELY tell u about is: BE AWARE and HAVE TONS OF MONEY with u whereever you go on PhiPhi.

This island has become (my personal) no.1 NEVER EVER GO BACK-destination. Thai can be really proud of their work: seems to be sooo easy to destroy nature within real short time....(and I am not only talking about "The Beach" which is definitely waste of time to look at unless u like to watch millions of japanese tourists).

    Paeng*paeng*paeng ... wherever u go, whatever u do.

    Nevertheless, up2u:

me, I took a simple ferry boat from KoLanta (south of Krabi) and it was about 80 bt for 1 1/2 hrs trip.

All those (hundereds of) boats I saw coming from Phuket were stuffed with tourists. so if u want (at least) enjoy a relaxing trip - yes - speed boat might be a good decision (though I think even a speed boat would be filled up with up to 20 pax per trip).

    :o

  11. gent...welcome to LOC !!!!!!

    (Land Of Confusion).

could tell you books about goes around MY mind these days, weeks, months.

    Similar story to yours.

Somehow I am quite HAPPY I am soooo far away from "her" for the moment (intending to emigrate within the next 3-4 months). Now my brain has got real got time to recover and evaluate the + and the - arguments. Today's update: - arguments are in the lead....

just an advise: let your BRAIN win the game.

  12. I admit, medical service is a VERY good reason to live elsewhere than Thailand (no matter what age).

But - as far as I expect to be worried about - this is the ONLY reason not to emigrate.

(this opinion might change after having lived in Los for a while .. but right now ... I hope everything will be fine ...)

  13. Yohan is austrian (no, not australian!) and austrians tend to express their feelings/comments filled up with long explanations around the original meaning.

I suggest you guys simply accept and overread those parts of his context which you suppose to sound boring for you.

Furthermore you should be happy (?) to have non-uk/american posters in this forum. They have got so many different views upon any kind of topic as you might have. Isn't it interesting to read such kind of opinions as well?

Aaah, yes ... forgot to tell ... I am not u.k./american either .. and both of us ... Yohan and me .. might have some grammar problems from time to time ... could that be part of your rating that these comments are (tend to be...) boring or over-sized???

    :o

  14. ...do not intend to open a bar or similar kind of business in thailand...

BUT used to have a bar in europe.

AND there is some stuff left-over which i did not sell yet (and do not want to sell either).

talking about whisky/beer mirrors, buffalo head, decoration stuff in general.

all of it is used but still worth looking at things which i do not want to sell or throw away b4 leaving my home country.

can i import these things WITHOUT having to pay thai import taxes or whatsoever?

  15. intend to establish export business thailand-europe (middle, northern and eastern europe; not u.k!)

    anybody here having experiences about?

(company requirements, thai paperwork, reference addresses and so on)

ps/regarding company requirements: got a thai partner already to have registered company (if necessary) but do not need further (thai) employees. Possible?
