Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
andygrr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they all came home it would cost the government a lot more. Many would now not be able to buy a home so would need housing. 490k extra on the NHS to take care of besides the increase in pension. Then if you include all the other benefits they would be entitled to as most would now probably be under the living wage. It would be cheaper to just pay the increased pension due. -
3 year old Thai girl sexually assaulted by foreign man in Phuket
andygrr replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
The post said he was seen at 2am partying with the Aunt and 2 others. Who were the others and were they male or female. The girl wasn't found in this state until 7am and the neighbour did not witness the event , so I think there is still a lot of investigating to be done yet. Sound to me whether he did it or one of the others did all 4 should possibly be held accountable to some degree. -

If he was driving drunk he deserves everything he got and more. But the money should go to the city not the individual police officers. -

Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach
andygrr replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Why is this such a big deal. It only seems to offend when it's a Foreigner. I see the Thai chaps who work on the beach looking after the jetskis and speed boats doing this not a word said about it. When motorbike taxi riders hop off there bike and urinate along the side of the road nothing but it's fire and brimstone if it's a tourist. Locals need to set a good example first. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
andygrr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If thought the last time this was discussed it was said the money would be used to cover medical expenses if any foreigner got ill or injured and his insurance wouldn't cover it. But was not meant to replace travel / medical insurance which all visitors should have. -

If that's what is written on the police report good luck claiming on any travel insurance if he has any. The insurance company would laugh at him for handing his wallet to a total stranger. -

Swiss man in Phuket acquitted of assaulting doctor
andygrr replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I agree you can't see any contact and if she was kicked / assaulted she showed no signs of it when they got up and moved. If she had been kicked I would have expected to see some sort of reaction like grabbing her back in pain or at least turning or jumping at the time or the assault but no they just got up and walked away in the video. -
My mum had hers done about 10 years ago recommended by a doctor at BPH but price was crazy. We took her to the Khon Kaen University Hospital to get it done, both legs. I can't remember the price but it was very reasonable a fraction of the Pattaya prices. The only thing is you have to except all the students in the room lol

China Denies Upstream Water Release Amid Thai Floods
andygrr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The water has to go somewhere. If they cleaned the waterways out and improved the condition of the rivers more water would flow south via the Chao Phraya basin ending up in Bangkok causing more flooding there. You just can't win. Nature rules. -
I have had several over the years and the best seem to be DDPai models they use capacitors which seem to handle the heat better than L-ion batteries. The heat seems to be the big killer the heat behind a windscreen is rather extreme.
