  1. Was this a rhetorical question? Until they start enforcing laws and putting some "bite" into the oenalties, nothing will change!
  2. Exactly what I thought when I read the headline!
  3. You can find CLOROX on Lazada, but its not really cheap. 165 baht for a 2 liter bottle.
  4. Don't know why BOA doesn't send your credit cards. I have both my Thai and US adresses listed on my account with the Thai address as my primary. They send my new debit and credit cards directly here to me. In fact, I just received my new credit card last week.
  5. Thailand is definitely not handicap friendly!
  6. When did this happen?
  7. "Criminal penalties are meant for serious offenses"..........Like picking mushrooms!
  8. Believe it or not! According to the Land Traffic Act, it is illegal for a taxi driver to play his car radio when he has passengers.
  9. When are these idiots going to realize that GPS does not drive the car for you!
  10. My step son(Thai)gets his Ritalin from Khon Kaen hospital. So, yes, it is available at government hospitals. From my experience, medications are cheaper at government hospitals than at private hospitals. The downside is the long waits. The evening outpatient clinics at the government hospitals are an option. A little more expensive but much less waiting and still cheaper than private hospitals.
  11. Because once they get on a bike or behind the wheel of a car, all common sense goes out the window!
  12. Not sure where you're getting your info. I know its been a while( 17 years or so), but when I filed the K-1 for my fiancee(now wife), I was retired and my only income was my pension. Had no problems.
  13. Just the swinging of the skateboard in a menacing manner constitutes assault.
  14. Many laws in Thailand are passed without thorough discussion and therefore they often do not realize the ramifications. The anti money laundering laws are no exception. I go through the same thing making my monthly car payment which is in wife's name. Never had a problem using my driver's license as ID. Not a big deal. Just go with the flow.
  15. Yes. But until the drivers use the traffic lights the way they are intended, nothing is going to change!
  16. I am not sure how they define a "tourist destination". Although, it has changed quite a bit in the last 20 years. My wife is from Khon Kaen, and the reason we like it is because it is NOT a tourist destination!
  17. I have always booked our tickets using wife's married name(as in US passport) and have never had a problem. If she enters Thailand on Thai passport, she must use Thai passport to leave. Sometimes the airline will ask about US visa but just show them US passport and all is well.
  18. Isn't that what they said......just before the last coup?
  19. Happens all the time here. When I get on an escalator here I always leave about a 2 meter space between me and the person in front. In the west, escalators have an emergency stop button, but since that involves "safety", you don't see too many of those here.
