  1. Photo via Facebook/ Sajeera Theeranetr By Petch Petpailin A female Thai sex content creator announced her retirement and warned her followers to beware of scammers releasing livestream videos while posing as her. The 23 year old social media influencer, Sajeera “Jeedjad” Theeranetr, was known among her fans as a “policewoman” due to one of her most popular videos featuring her in a police cosplay uniform. On Saturday, February 1, Jeedjad shared with her followers that she gave an interview to the YouTube channel 12 SOMETHING, during which she officially announced her retirement from the sex content creator industry. Jeedjad explained that she started producing adult content after consulting her parents. While her family’s financial situation was stable and she had no urgent need for money, she wanted to explore the industry out of curiosity. Her parents allowed her to pursue her interests but warned her to be prepared for the consequences of her actions. She was aware of the potential impact and eventually decided to stop producing adult content just one month after starting. Jeedjad stated that she had left the industry in April last year but had been unable to announce it to her fans for several reasons. She eventually decided to go public after discovering that someone was impersonating her on social media. The suspect used her photos and name to promote a social media account and then broadcasted livestream videos featuring someone else pretending to be her. These videos only showed the lower half of the person’s body, with their face hidden, leading many viewers to believe it was Jeedjad. Cyberbullying Jeedjad also spoke out against accusations that she engaged in sexual relationships with university professors in exchange for good grades. She insisted that she had always been a dedicated student and had no reason to resort to such actions, dismissing the claims as baseless rumours. Jeedjad further shared that she had been subjected to bullying when working outside the adult content industry. When she played the lead role in a music video, netizens criticised her, claiming she was unsuitable for the role and not talented enough, simply because of her past as an adult content creator. She admitted that these criticisms discouraged her, making her feel as though she would never be given opportunities in other fields after her time in the industry. However, her mother encouraged her to have faith in herself and to keep striving for new opportunities. Jeedjad promised to prove herself despite the criticism and negativity she faced from netizens. Follow Jeedjad on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook for updates. Recently, another former Thai sex creator, Arisa “Kwang” Siangluecha, better known as Deerlong, announced her retirement from the industry. Kwang cited mental health issues resulting from sex-related comments on social media as the reason for her retirement. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-02-03

  3. Picture of the thief at work courtesy of KhaoSod By Bob Scott In a bold daylight heist that could rival Hollywood thrillers, a lone thief made off with an impressive haul from a bustling Pathum Thani shopping mall in the Khlong 5 area. The audacious theft unfolded today, February 3, leaving Thai police officers in hot pursuit of the suspect who absconded with a staggering 150 baht in gold, valued at over 6.6 million baht. The scene of the crime was a gold shop nestled within a popular shopping centre in Lam Luk Ka district, Pathum Thani province. Swiftly responding to the brazen theft, investigative officers descended upon the location to scour for clues and gather vital evidence. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect during their illegal escapade: a figure clad in long jeans, a long-sleeved denim shirt, and a wool hat, blending in effortlessly with the crowd before executing the swift snatch-and-grab. After the deed was done, the thief vanished into thin air, leaving police to piece together the details of the crime caper. Pathum Thani police launched a vigorous manhunt to track down the elusive robber, with detectives reviewing the footage and following up on leads. As the investigation intensifies, the community remains on edge, awaiting the swift hand of justice to close in on the culprit. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-02-03

  5. Photo via KhaoSod By Ryan Turner A 16 year old was apprehended while smuggling meth pills across the Mekong River, with over two million pills seized. Three of his accomplices managed to escape. The incident took place earlier today, February 3, in Chumphon subdistrict, Phon Phisai district, Nong Khai province. Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, head of the Second Army Area and the Border Drug Suppression and Interdiction Command spearheaded the arrest. The operation was part of the government’s Seal Stop Safe initiative, targeting drug trafficking and illegal activities along the northeastern border. The Second Army Area, which borders neighbouring countries, was tasked with enhancing patrol frequencies and setting up checkpoints in collaboration with police, local officials, and residents. At 3am today, the Surasak Montri Task Force, led by the 2104th Task Force Ranger Company, seized six sacks containing approximately 2.4 million methamphetamine pills. The operation was initiated following intelligence reports of smuggling activities from a neighbouring country into Thailand. Officers focused their efforts along the Mekong River in Ban Woen, Mueang 3, Chumphon subdistrict, Phon Phisai district. They observed a boat docking on the Thai side of the river, accompanied by a car that was parked nearby. Four men exited the vehicle and carried three black sacks from the riverbank. Upon the officers’ approach, the group attempted to flee, but the officers managed to apprehend one individual, a 16 year old teenager. A search of the area revealed an overturned boat used for smuggling, along with three additional sacks floating in the river. Coordination with the Phon Phisai Naval Unit led to their retrieval. Collaborative efforts with Phon Phisai Police Station, local administrative officers, and the border monitoring unit, resulted in the confiscation of the drugs and the boat. The seized items, including six sacks of meth pills and a motorised steel boat, were secured by the 2104th Task Force Ranger Company. The evidence and the arrested individual have been handed over to the Phon Phisai Police Station for legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-02-03

  15. Weeradej Pupisit | Photo via KhaoSod By Ryan Turner The opposition People’s Party (PP) has achieved a significant milestone in local politics, as candidate Weeradej Pupisit won the Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) presidential election in Lamphun. Unofficial results indicate that 39 year old Weeradej defeated Anusorn Wongwan, a four-time veteran from the ruling Pheu Thai Party, in the election held on February 1. The PP presented 17 candidates for PAO president roles across 47 provinces but it was only in this northern province that the party secured a victory. Born in Lamphun, Weeradej holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Chiang Mai University. He joined the People’s Party during its formation when it was known as the Future Forward Party (FFP), later becoming a party coordinator and centre head before deciding to enter local elections. Weeradej explained that his motivation to contest local elections was driven by a desire to assist residents facing long-standing issues. His campaign team was primarily composed of younger individuals eager for change, reported Bangkok Post. Despite the PP’s progressive stance being perceived as a challenge in attracting older voters, Weeradej’s campaign received support from a skilled team of assistants, which included Pita Limjaroenrat, the former leader of the disbanded Move Forward Party. Politics is not unfamiliar territory for Weeradej’s family, with the Pupisit family considered by some as a significant political force. His father, Prasert, is a former Lamphun PAO president and currently serves as president of the Lamphun Chamber of Commerce. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-02-03

  17. UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific Masood Karimipour meets Police General Thatchai Pitaneelaboot | Photo via KhaoSod English By Ryan Turner The Royal Thai Police (RTP) is establishing an international coordination centre to collaborate with foreign embassies in preventing foreign nationals from joining call centre scam gangs in Myanmar. The initiative, spearheaded by Police General Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, aims to tackle call centre scams, particularly in the Mae Sot district of Tak, which serves as a significant transit point for individuals joining illicit operations in Myawaddy, Myanmar. Pol. Gen. Thatchai, also the director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Centre and Thailand’s Action Taskforce for Information Technology Crime Suppression, chaired a meeting with representatives from 16 countries, including ambassadors and diplomats from Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Tanzania, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, Brazil, the United States, Morocco, India, Kenya, Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Russia. The meeting was also attended by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand. National Police Chief Police General Kittharath Punpetch has already bolstered measures to prevent foreign criminals from entering Thailand. These measures include enhanced checks at airports and border checkpoints, monitoring of accommodations and tourist sites, investigations into travel routes and safe houses, and increased border security operations and coordination. Cooperation with international agencies is also in place to ensure effective results. Embassies have expressed strong support for Thailand’s efforts to enhance cross-border law enforcement cooperation and combat illegal border crossings. The international coordination centre will facilitate real-time data sharing and communication between Thai police and international agencies. Pol. Gen. Thatchai urged all embassies to participate in the coordination centre to eliminate call centre scam gangs, with regular meetings planned by the RTP to assess the situation and prepare for the centre’s establishment. Many are deceived To prevent foreigners from seeking employment with call centre operations in Myanmar, officials aim to stop them from entering Mae Sot, although this task remains challenging. Despite warnings, many individuals use Mae Sot as an entry point in pursuit of high earnings, whether with call centre gangs or online gambling operators in Myanmar. In many instances, individuals are deceived into working for criminals. Pol. Gen. Thatchai highlighted the information gap leading to the formation of the International Coordination Centre. This centre aims to enable officials to contact embassies when one of their citizens arrives in Mae Sot without a clear travel plan. Foreign embassy staff can then directly contact their compatriots to warn them against illegally crossing the border and participating in illegal work. When questioned about the centre’s role in recovering victims who have already crossed into Myanmar, Pol. Gen. Thatchai stated that such cases must go through border coordination committees and officials in Myanmar. Regarding China’s recent cooperation with Thai police on similar matters, he expressed confidence in improved outcomes due to increased intelligence sharing with Chinese police. Prevention efforts are underway not only in Mae Sot but also in other high-risk border areas in provinces such as Kanchanaburi, Surin, and Chiang Rai. The police are also considering employing Sections 11 and 15 of the Immigration Act to impose stricter entry conditions for Mae Sot, reported Bangkok Post. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-02-03

At a spirited rally on Thursday, the 75-year-old urged backing for Pichai Lertpongadisorn, the Pheu Thai candidate and current PAO president. Addressing a crowd in Mueang district, Thaksin requested, “Give me only 700,000 votes. Let’s make it decisive without hesitation.” This election is seen as crucial for Pheu Thai’s plans to recover dominance by the 2027 General Election, after setbacks from the opposition People’s Party. The PAO election has 42 council seats available. Pheu Thai aims to recover from its 2023 defeat when the People’s Party won seven out of ten Chiang Mai MP seats, leaving Pheu Thai with just two. Thaksin emphasized that this election is about both revenge and redemption. Pun-Arj Chairatana, representing the People’s Party, is appealing for inclusivity in Chiang Mai's politics. “Please use the election to send a message that Chiang Mai belongs to everyone,” said Pun-Arj, who is supported by former Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat. He is banking on youth and urban votes to challenge Pheu Thai's influence. As Chiang Mai voters head to the polls along with 75 other provinces, the election represents a test of Thaksin's enduring power in Thai politics. An alcohol ban is in place from 6pm today, echoing the high stakes of this political contest. -- 2025-01-31

  23. Photo via 77 Kaoded By Petch Petpailin A Thai man allegedly killed three pet snakes before taking his own life at a condominium in Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, due to a conflict with a monk in the Isaan province of Nakhon Phanom. A security guard at the condominium near Tiwanon Intersection in Nonthaburi province reported the resident’s death to Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station and the Por Teck Tung Rescue Foundation yesterday, January 30. The guard discovered the lifeless body at around 4pm. The body was found in a space between the condominium and a local’s house. The area was overgrown with grass and littered with rubbish due to a lack of maintenance. The deceased was identified as a 22 year old game streamer, whose name has not been disclosed to the public. He was suspected of jumping from the balcony of his 10th-floor room. His body may have struck the building’s wall, causing severe injuries that resulted in both of his feet being severed at the ankles. His left foot was found on the roof of a nearby house, while his right foot was on the ground near his body. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts. Apart from the injuries to his feet, police found no signs of physical assault on his body. Three dead ball pythons were discovered at the scene, including a white one lying near his head. The other two were found in a plastic bag. Conflict with monk According to the security guard, the man had moved into the condominium just a day before his death. However, the guard had never seen him before, as he worked the night shift. Police searched the man’s room and found a suicide note that read… “I’m sorry, everyone, for what I have done. I would like to apologise to a monk for my bad behaviour. Sorry, father. Sorry, mother. And sorry to all my relatives for bringing only trouble. I want to pay with my life.” Officers contacted the man’s younger brother, who resides in the Isaan province of Sakon Nakhon. The brother said the deceased planned to enter monkhood at a temple in Nakhon Phanom but ultimately fled the ordination due to a conflict with one of the monks there. The monk accused him of joining the monkhood for financial reasons. His brother suspected that he was deeply affected by the accusation and subsequently ran away. Police concluded the case as a suicide but will await the autopsy results before officially closing it.
