Yesterday, January 9th, local media reported seeing a group of homeless people camping at an abandoned building on South Pattaya Road in the Nongprue subdistrict of Banglamung district, Chonburi. The group was taking over a building, which used to be a convenience store that went out of business during the peak of the pandemic. Discarded items such as old bedding, clothing, and garbage were left strewn around the building where a group of nomads had been sleeping and urinating, emitting a foul smell that was noticeable to pedestrians passing by, local media reported. The spokesperson added that the poll was a key indicator that the government is on the right path. Thailand performed best in poverty eradication and is on track to achieve four SDGs, specifically quality education, clean water and sanitation, industrial innovation and infrastructure, and responsible consumption and production. The kingdom is also improving in overall health and well-being, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, work and economic growth, and reduced inequalities. According to TAT, the roadshow will take place in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, and will be attended by approximately 120 business people from both China and Thailand. In addition to the roadshow, Chinese online travel agent Ctrip will launch an online marketing campaign on social media to promote its tour packages in Thailand. TAT estimates that around 300,000 Chinese travelers will come to Thailand in the first quarter of 2023, with the number expected to increase in the second quarter. TAT offices in China and domestic tourism operators are also preparing for the return of Chinese tourists, following the resumption of flights between Thailand and China on January 18. A woman was seriously injured after a large billboard fell on her today, January 10th. Sawang Boriboon assisted an unlucky victim, Ms. Yenchit Anchuen, in front of Soi Jomtien 12 in Chonburi’s Banglamung district. The 46-year-old sustained serious injuries to her right hip and right forearm after a billboard fell on her while driving a motorcycle. The victim was crying in pain, rescuers told The Pattaya News. She was transferred to Mueang Pattaya Hospital.
