I'm not going to go to bother refuting a claim made without links. Try adding one before the mods delete your post.

You’re not helping the cause.  You should try to approach people in a more honest manner.  How do you expect to win hearts and minds with your tortured statistics?  You claimed that another poster was cherry-picking his facts when claiming incentives were being offered.  I refuted your claim (correctly) and provided a link.  You ignored it.  How very convenient for you to do so.

Or it could be that that you're flailing to find a refutation and are resorting to cherry-picking. Unless, of course, Harris county has expanded to include all these states.

Covid vaccinations in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama more than double since July

And I don't see what relevance the windfall income of pharmaceutical executives has to do with the increased rate of vaccination uptake. Or what you think that proves.

Many states have offered vaccination incentives for quite some time now.

And that incentive program was inaugurated on Aug 4. I think whatever little was left of your argument has just been invalidated.

    …and long before August 4.

  3. Not noticing prices rising.  The opposite in fact as most things I buy from Gourmet Market, Big C and Tesco seem to be on sale these days including imported food such as Mainland Cheese, King Oscar sardines.  Even getting bigger (and more frequent) discounts from Happyfresh.  Seems things are still arriving from overseas as the Best Before dates are later and later.

When I peruse foodpanda (look but don’t buy because I’m trying to stick to my keto diet), there are so many 2 for 1 deals from major fast food chains that it makes my head spin.  Many restaurants also offer an extra 50-100 baht off discount code on top of the already discounted prices (minimum purchase necessary).

Rents being asked on Hipflat are falling further but asking purchase prices for condos seem to be sticky and not falling (not sure what they are selling for if they are in fact selling)

Maybe it’s different out in the rural areas, but Bangkok, for most things, is definitely in a deflationary price mode.

Not surprising, given that 3/4 of the vehicles on the road are 2 wheelers.  In fact, I'm surprised it's not higher.

Just because it looks chaotic to us, doesn't mean it's dangerous.  Thai people are masters of defensive driving.  They have to be to survive.  It's a double edge sword.

Scooters in Canada are dangerous because the riders are generally fair weather hobbyists and weekend warriors.  And cars are much less adept at sharing the roads with them than in Thailand.  Fewer accidents in total, maybe.  But that's because Canucks put so few miles on their scooters compared to Thai people who use theirs every day.

So I'll hold off judging the hazards until someone shows me the numbers...

My comments come from a position of seeing the OP as a naive kid.

Stand up scooters?  Bike lanes in Bangkok?  Charging stations for motorbikes at condos?  Popping wheelies?

How many soccer moms do you see here driving a minivan with an “I share the road with cyclists” bumper sticker?

Can you use a slower motorbike like the Niu on the "side" of the road (kind of like as if there was a bike lane)? That would be ideal as I'd like to stay away from cars as much as possible.

There are no “bike lanes”.  Shoulders on crowded Bangkok freeways are used as just another lane.  Shoulders on rural country roads can have people traveling on a motorbike in the opposite direction…sometimes with a side cart attached.  City streets will have people double and triple parked next to a night market while the owner runs to his favorite food stall to get his evening.

if you have to ask so many questions and overthink it….take a taxi.

  6. What you are looking for is a “super tweeter”…they can be cheap.

For an amp to help you run them you’ll need either an integrated amp or a separate preamp.  Can’t help you there as all I’m familiar with that is rated to those frequencies are quite expensive.

I believe in the intrinsic worth of Gold:

Aristotle defined the characteristics of a good form of money – which must be:

    • Durable: Money must stand the test of time and the elements. It must not fade, corrode, or change through time;
    • Portable: Good money needs to hold a high amount of 'worth' relative to its weight and size;
    • Divisible: Money should be relatively easy to separate and re-combine without affecting its fundamental characteristics. An extension of this idea is that the item should be "fungible", defined as "being freely exchangeable or replaceable, in whole or in part, for another of like nature or kind."
    • Intrinsically Valuable: This value of money should be independent of any other object and contained in the money itself, starting with rarity.

“Gold is money, everything else is credit”

I think there is something profound in that song, but blowed if I can work out what. Perhaps you can explain it for me ( ?us ).

First, I have no judgement for or against the “scene”…I’ve just come to the realization over the years that it’s not for me.  I have had many interesting conversations with bargirls in my time here and when they know you’re not a potential customer, yet don’t judge them for what they do, they tend to open up.

That being said, when I stand back and look at the women working, when they aren’t with a customer, they have hollow eyes.  Many want to find love and security (financial and otherwise) but the cost of doing so is more than just selling their body.  With each customer, they sell a little of their soul too.  It’s a dark life.  Many feel that it’s just the way things are….perhaps their karmic fate.  No blame, no judgement…it is what it is.

Will they find love?  If they do, can they truly feel it?

Just read the lyrics and have to agree with you 100%

Another good one with regards to the entertainment scene would be Depeche Mode ‘Dream On’

Can you feel a little love?

As your bony fingers close around me
    Long and spindly
    Death becomes me
Heaven, can you see what I see?

Hey you pale and sickly child
    You're death and living reconciled
Been walking home a crooked mile

    Paying debt to karma
    You party for a living
What you take won't kill you
    But careful what you're giving
    Mmm

    There's no time for hesitating
Pain is ready, pain is waiting
    Primed to do its educating

    Unwanted, uninvited kin
It creeps beneath your crawling skin
It lives without, it lives within you

    Feel the fever coming
    You're shaking and twitching
    You can scratch all over
But that won't stop you itching

Can you feel a little love?
Can you feel a little love?

    Dream on
    Dream on

    Mmm
    Mmm

Blame it on your karmic curse
    Oh shame upon the universe
    It knows its lines
    It's well-rehearsed

It sucked you in, it dragged you down
To where there is no hallowed ground
    Where holiness is never found

    Paying debt to karma
    You party for a living
What you take won't kill you
    But careful what you're giving

Can you feel a little love?
Can you feel a little love?

    Dream on
    Dream on

Can you feel a little love?
Can you feel a little love?

    Dream on
    Dream on

    Dream on
    Dream on

    Dream on

  10. The decongestant nasal sprays that contain things such as oxymetazoline hcl and naphazoline hcl will come with a nasty rebound affect after extended use.

I would recommend first seeing an ENT to rule out polyps or a severely deviated septum, but before jumping into surgery of any kind (something I wish I had never done), try to find the root cause.  One thing to check for is mold (or other environmental) allergies and potentially food allergies.

I only referred where you can buy/order western gold 999 ,

no reference for selling to as they buy/sell almost only Thai version , but same problem to sell Thai 96% gold in western gold dealing shops ...., they rip you a half kidney of under pretext of refining costs ????

Understood that you were referring to buy/order…I just wanted to expand on it and share my personal experience.  I’m sure you’re right regarding western gold dealers purchasing Thai gold too.  I’d bet you’d be offered whatever the scrap price is.   I learned my lesson and now go with the “when in Rome…” strategy.

Nothing was stopping them; the Chinese were buying, pre-covid.  My partner and I personally sold 4 condos to Chinese buyers in Pattaya, and 1 in Bangkok.  (No, we're not realtors.)  The first Bangkok condo my partner and I purchased (the one we later sold to a Chinese buyer) was a new project from a very large builder and we bought off-plan.  When we went into the sales office there was a second entirely separate sales team, in their own designated area, that spoke Chinese and had brochures printed only in Chinese.  You don't make that sort of effort with few buyers in mind.  Just as an aside, that second sales team seemed busier than the regular sales team the day we visited.

I’m not saying that there were never any Chinese buyers.  But for people to hang their hopes on a full blown real estate recovery on the Chinese is kind of ridiculous.  Maybe I’ll sell one of them my condo too.

    I bought it in 2006 with 4000 miles, it is a 2004 model. You actually believe I could buy a new 2006 911 C4S for 42K?

You can buy a similar vintage 996 C4S here for about $140k.  The ones currently for sale are less, but a year or two older.   Expensive, for sure…but nowhere near the $760,000 you were quoting for a Turbo S.  Completely different car.  My 1996 993C2 would cost more to replace here (like for like) than any newer 996.  The worst part about it is that we’d both be driving automatics here too.

Never a problem still perfect. Would I pay $312,000 for one here xxxx no.

                     2006 911 C4S  TBH 1,260,000

    1.  That’s not a 2006.  It’s a 2005 or earlier as it is a 996 and not a 2006 or later 997C4S

    2.  Comparing the purchase price to a new 911 turbo is apples and oranges.
