  1. I hope Monday I will get a more clear answer from Aetna and then decide if I take AXA in addition. Thanks for the hint about asymptomatic!
  2. I will upgrade Aetna to 2 millions which is good enough for the Thai Pass request - right? They exclude the preconditions such as heart and vessel issues. I worry that this leads to some problem and may not be accepted when applying the Thai Pass because heart problems may occur along with a covid infection.
  3. I like to choose AXA insurance in addition to my usual general insurance at Aetna. Thus I will have 2 insurances which cover USD 50.000, one for 1 year Aetna and AXA for 30 days. I see AXA want to know the preconditions as well, excluding heart and vessel issues. I worry that this leads to some problem when applying the Thai Pass. Or not?
  4. Thanks you for your advice. However, the Sinsuvarn Airport Suite Hotel SHA+ hotel allows for 2 room categories this cancellation policy
  5. One of the reasons why I booked "my" hotel is that I am allowed to cancel free of charge the day I arrive till 2 p.m. - means 1 hour before check-in.
  6. Did you think of a specific airport hotel?
  7. The issue is that I arrive early in the morning and have hours before being able to check-in at the hotel which is in airport area. I would have a plenty of time to get a PCR test at the airport if there is any. In addition, sure only with speculation and in my dreams, I have a confirmed flight BKK-CNX in the afternoon I may reach, if the regulation change and would allow a quick-test 555. Dear Salerno, I always appreciate your constructive comments and advices.
  8. Thus it seems I have to cancel the one I have and looking for another hotel with package?
  9. I still stuck with some of my questions. 1) Do a general insurance covering the requested USD 50.000 fulfils the needs or is a separate statement from the insurance about the cover of covid issues is necessary? 2) If the company is not willing to give such a statement (because of preconditions, for instance), would it be "wise" to get a specific covid insurance from another company in addition? 3) I booked a SHA+ hotel for 1 day after arrival by booking.com but it is not a package with PCR test. Is a package booking mandatory or is it possible to do the PCR test at the airport at my own responsibility? Thanks a lot for your inputs and experiences!
  10. This list of the so called "low risk" countries is partially just ridiculous. In the 3 Baltic states the numbers are rising dramatically, not to speak about the situation in Romania, India and Indonesia! Now it is proved that money has more power than the fear to loose face. "Low risk" should be replaced by another term. Any suggestion?
  11. Sorry, I do not fully understand yet and what to do in my situation. I will enter on December 24 with visa exemption. I have a AETNA insurance in Thailand since years. I know I need to upgrade to reach the US$ 50.000 coverage and I know a statement from AETNA is needed that Covid19 is included. After 30 days I will apply for 15 more days and then to extend for 1 year the retirement "status" with re-entry permit. This will be possible after some 40 days after entering LOSO - is this correct? Do I need to apply for 90 days before I can apply retirement? I got retirement visa since some 15 years but my visa extension expired 1 year ago. Thus I have to start the visa issue from scratch and I forgot the procedure. Whereas the insurance still exists for one more year starting next week and the lease for my condo is up to date. So what about the Covid insurance when entering LOSO? Do I need to do (pay and show) it only for the first 30 days or including the extension for 45 days or for 90 days or already now for 1 entire year or starting 1 year when applying the retirement extension? Happy for any reliable inputs !
  12. My situation: Booked a flight to Thailand in December from country with visa exemption. Have to start from scratch because my immi-O and re-entry expired 1 year ago. Since years I have an insurance at Aetna which covers 1 million THB for hospital expenses + 8.000 / day for the room. My questions: 1) do I need an insurance covering 3 millions? 2) does a 3 million insurance includes covid19 issues if it is explicitly mentioned? 3) do I need the required $ 50.000 covid19 insurance in addition? 4) are these general immigration regulations for all travellers from exemption countries or are they depending from country to country and I have to ask the embassy? Are reliable answers already possible in these confusing times and in the still existing information jungle? Very happy for any inputs because I have to renew and/or upgrade my insurance next week.
  13. Thanks a lot ubonjoe. I am somewhat shocked about such an outdated website of an embassy even I know Thai style since decades. It is many years ago I needed an embassy. I will do as you recommend.
  14. Hello, my Immi-O visa and re-rentry permit is expired in December 2020. I want to return to Thailand from a European country entitled for visa exemption. For the application for a new re-tirement Immi-O visa from abroad "An original criminal record issued from the country of applicant’s from country of permanent residence." is required. But I am not registered where I am now, I do not have permanent residence here, I am just "stranded". Thus it seems I have only 1 option i.e. to enter with a tourist visa with my second (empty) passport from another European country. On the embassy's website it's said: Foreigners who enter Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption category and would like to leave and re-enter may only stay for a cumulative duration, which does not exceed 90 days and is within a 6-month period from the date of first entry. ....., proof of onward travel (confirmed air, train, bus or boat tickets) to leave Thailand within 30 days of the arrival date. ..... proof of onward travel (confirmed air, train, bus or boat tickets) to leave Thailand within 30 days of the arrival date. However, I still can use my return flight and do not want to travel to other countries but stay in my rented condo as I did before covid. Otherwise a tourist visa must be obtained. For a tourist visa a is requested Travelers who enter Thailand under the tourist visa exemption category are allowed to apply for an additional extension at the Immigration Bureau for a period up to 30 days. I will really appreciate your opinions and experiences - specially an answer to the question if I can enter with visa exemption and then (when?) apply for an Immi-O at my immigration. Thanks a lot! .
  15. You can have the best car, but if you do not know to drive what happens?
  16. For me, the main obstacle is the COE and the time limit of 72 hours. As a vaxxed European I would not mind to do another test at arrival in BKK and to be granted to fly to a domestic destination on the same day. If necessary I would accept a 5 day home quarantine controlled by Morchana.
  17. Is a Thailand elite card available at a Thai embassy in Europe when applying the COE as a tourist?
