Don’t intend to be rude but if you worry about this and lost this stuff you should not be here. Get real. This TVF is full of paranoid BS. We left that in the western world.

I do it and I know several guys that do. I have a good Thai landlord and it is a savings of money and hassle for me and her. She knows I won’t do a runner and I get a good discount.

My owner filed a TM30. I travel a lot and will not be filing anything when I continually return to my condo. So maybe next year they fine me 800 baht. Consider it an increase in the extension of stay from 1900 baht to 2700 baht and forget about it. Not worth getting upset over. Threatening to leave Thailand over an extra 800 baht a year is crazy IMO. Worrying about it and getting pis@ed off is also crazy. So I buy three less lady drinks a year. Chill people chill. Prices go up. 2019 is not 2009 and it will not be the same in 2029. Don’t let your life be controlled by the small stuff. ????????

And grossly unethical for the teller to do that. In Thailand today I and my family double check every transaction, double check the balance in bankbooks and in the internet banking account, both balance and every transaction. I wouldn't trust any Thai bank with 1Baht.
And double check / query everything that the service desk staff tell you when you open an account.
some realities:
- It's not true that it's law in Thailand every savings account has to have an ATM card and a debit car.
- It's not true that the service desk officer is only allowed to use 1 form per new account (cannot destroy a wrong document and start a new document).
- It's not true that the service desk ar required by bank policy to ask the new customer to sign a blank application form, and
It's no true that the service desk officer is not to complete blanks but signed) application form until after the bank has closed for the day.
All of the above is connected to 1 specific branch of a very high profile Thai bank.
You just have a lot of time to waste. Banks are good for society and have checks and balances. Sometimes humans find a way to steal but banks or their insurers reimburse legitimate thefts or misappropriations or mistakes. Relax man you don’t have to waste life worrying and double checking everyone

Just to keep the bad press to a minimum !!!
The bank handled this situation exactly correct. Bunch of guys commenting on this post with biased and lack of any real world business theft knowledge.

Any "Bank" in the world will hold their hands up and admit to ANY wrongdoing! Fact.????????????
I have represented banks and their insurers all over the world. Despite your zeal to criticize Thailand or banks this thai bank handled the situation exactly like most banks in the world would have handled it. The bank will prosecute the thief quietly without much publicity that they do not want. Banks always need time to investigate theft and when a teller steals money from a customer, the bank or their insurer always pays it back to the customer. And they don’t want publicity like this. But humans steal and it is an issue for banks and all businesses. No fool proof way to stop some humans from stealing. Cost of doing business and hiring employees

It is absolutely not right to withdraw the complaint, someone in that bank steals money from customers hoping to get away with it!
She withdrew the complaint against the bank. She did not make a complaint again the teller because she had no idea who took her money. The bank will handle the dishonest employee. She is happy she got her money back and it was a bank employee’s fraud which happens in banks all over the world. Think about it ????????

Dave Grohl sings and plays his heart out every concert. You get your moneys worth at a Foo Fighters Show. I don’t know how he does it but he genuinely seems joyful and humble. He is one of the best musicians and song writers on the planet. ???????????????????????????????? RIP Kurt hope you are in a better place. RIP Chester hope you are in a better place. Dave thanks for all you do for all of us. ????

Great for you. What is your point. Not everyone lives close to immigration and not everyone travels once in a great while. Some of us travel weekly and live a long way from immigration. Feel better now. You are special. 55555

I personally am not doing a TM 30. If they don’t want to give me an extension of stay I can go many places and support women and families in other countries. No use arguing with them and no use getting angry unless you have a wife and kids here that you support and care about. The rest of us are free to go or comply with the TM 30. I travel too much to do the TM30 and will not comply and do not have anything invested in this country and will not make any investments in the future. But some Isaan families will miss the money sent home to them and my landlord will miss my monthly rent money and the bank will miss my 800 k in the bank. But up to them. I don’t care anymore.

Pretty much just here to see the ranting of angry expats. My TM30 reporting takes up a few hours each year. It's not ideal, but it is what it is.
As long as it is easy for you then all good for everyone. No problem so why take the time to comment and boast and post some troll nonsense.

I would be interested to buy the car legally if that is possible. PM me with details.

If you are legally married and file the papers at the Amphoe then your wife gets an automatic spouse visa unless fraud can be proved against you. If you have a “village wedding” only then she will probably never get a tourist or finance visa for the next 5 years. If you file the legal paperwork at the Amphoe then be aware she may be able to divorce you in the States if you live there a certain amount of time.

No one feels sorry for the British. Not meant to sound harsh as I like London and some Brit friends. But your currency and arrogance was too high for many years. And your history of brutal conquests makes you as popular as the Vikings and Pirates. With your dumb Brexit decisions no one wants the pound and the pound will be worth less than a USA dollar next year Rome has fallen again as history repeats itself. IMO.

Stuck is a self imposed mental issue. No one is ever stuck in any country or relationship or job. The only people that are stuck are those without free will.

My landlord filed one when I moved into my rental condo. I travel inside and outside Thailand and my landlord and I are not going to file anything else. I don’t tell her when I leave and the rest is hysteria. If I get fined 800 baht when I do my extension I don’t care.

for example, did they already have other passports?
Wealthy people almost always have several passports especially from tax haven countries. She did not need her Thai passport. That was just a face slap by the Thai government revoking her Thai passport.

grow some balls and tell em whats what or spend all your life hiding inside a cupboard, imagine the world if no one ever stood up to authority and said something.
Its a plain ridiculous rule.
Easy for you to not understand. You are probably from a western rule country. You never worked in China or Burma or other military countries. Because if you did you and your balls would have been deported and the family you left behind punished for protesting against the military government.
That is the direction Thailand is going and China is their mentor. Forums like this one will be “cleaned up” one day. In a military country you are viewed as an outsider visitor and a trouble maker with “antigovernment free will undesired opinions” You and your balls will fall in line or you, your balls, family and friends will suffer. Sign anything you want to sign and let others do what they choose to do as neither have anything related to strength or weakness or ball size. ????

I rent a condo and travel a lot in Thailand and out of Thailand. I am not going to do a TM 30 in Bangkok. My condo owner did one when I moved in and that is the end of it as far as I am concerned. Too much anxiety by some over what I consider nothing. If they fine me at my next extension for not doing TM 30 whenever I travel then I will pay it and decide if I want to pay it again the following year or move. I own no condo or car and have no wife or kids in Thailand so easy for me to pay a small fine or fly away if I want to. But no way I am telling my jurisdic office or owner that my condo is empty when I travel and no way I am going to file anything other than an extension of stay once a year and sometimes a 90 day report by mail.

A girlfriend or woman will not solve your issues and make you happy and complete. Only you can do that with help if necessary from professionals and/or friends. The least of your problems right now is not having a girlfriend. Seek counseling and get sober and don’t give up. ????

I'm 64 and just received a quote for medical cover in Thailand and the quote was over $6,500.00 USD per Year. OMG. I do not have that amount of spare cash per year! The quote was not the cheapest and there were others in exceeding 10,000 USD. Mm...
I am 59 and the quote from the USA medical insurance is 1200 USA dollars month plus a 6700 USA dollar yearly deductible so 6500 USA dollars a year sounds cheap to me. I pay 1700 USA dollars a year for one million USA dollars of coverage in Thailand. Very cheap and will increase every year I get older. That is a fact of life. But to simply say I cannot afford health insurance is not a sensible option IMO. Everyone on earth should have health insurance no exceptions. Unless they are so poor they cannot eat or pay for rent. Then they should be provided health care by their home country not a foreign country. But living in a foreign country as an immigrant is not a right but a privilege that costs money. I don’t care if you own a condo and pay for your wife and kids. Blah blah blah. You have to be able to financially take care of yourself and that includes paying for medical al bills caused by accidents and getting sick when you are old.

All of the politicians at the top of both Republican and Democratic parties are bought and paid for by lobbyists. Same in most countries in the world the top politicians are crooks. The rest of us are sheep fed our daily meal to keep us from revolting. History shows once the revolution occurs another group of crooks start the process all over again with different emblems. Not a cynical person just a lover of reading about history of humans. We humans have a continual desire to fight wars and pursue conflict for popular leaders, religion, greed, insecurity, and vanity. With some notable exceptions most leaders are tyrants. Most people are good until they become leaders and succumb to the temptations of life. Worship no man or woman because the few people on the planet that deserve praise will not need it, ask for it or want it. ☮️
Right on time: Phuket Immigration explain TM30 and TM28 requirements for reporting foreigners

You went all the way to the immigration office to do this. Ok for you but I am not going to CW in BKK every time I travel. Simply will not do it and will not worry about it. I go to CW once a year for an extension of stay and that is all I am willing to do. I mail the 90 day report sometimes. I did put 800 k in a Thai bank.
I really don’t care about doing anything else and if that means I don’t get an extension of stay this year then so be it. But to let this stuff upset you or cause you to pat yourself on the back to me is funny. ????
