You neglect to mention the amount of your Social Security deposit into your Bangkok Bank account and then the amount specified by "yet another bank letter."  If the total amount transferred into your Bangkok Bank account every month is equal to 65,000 Baht or more, you qualify for the one-year extension.  You don't need a letter from the consulate.  Besides, they don't issue them any more.  A bank wire to your Bangkok Bank account will result in an "FTT" deposit.  Bank-to-bank transfers stopped working in June or July of this year.  Transferwise and other transfer services are not guaranteed to get the money into your account as an "FTT."  Your case sounds pretty easy.  Just subtract the amount of your Social Security direct deposit from $2,200 and then wire the balance to your Bangkok Bank account every month.  So long as your bank book shows 65,000 or more of FTT transfers every month, you will qualify for your next extension.

With the costs associated with monthly wire transfers ( not ACH ), it may be cheaper and more flexible to use an agent for your extension if you do not deposit the 800k.  Sorry for your issues at immigration OP.  Must be stressful and frustrating for you and your family and friends.

I’m interested because I want O-A from LAX consul.
Doe this box clinic allow walking in without appointment? Where is it located? An examination for a visa will not be payed by any US insurance as it is not a medical necessity.

If you are lucky bet you can get your Doctor to sign the form during a regular checkup but I don’t have one.

They are clinics that allow walk ins and no appointment necessary. Some are chains and some claim to be for minor emergencies that are not life threatening. Cheaper than going to an emergency room at a hospital and quicker to go to a walk in doctor than make an appointment with your primary physician which may not be able to see you for several days or weeks.

For all the posters that got their doctor to sign the form then great for you. But my primary care doctor that I went to for over 20 years would not sign the form and nothing you can do to make him. Not worth getting an O-A visa if I cannot get a recommendation of a doctor in Texas USA that will sign the form for a reasonable fee. Washington DC Thailand embassy told me over the phone they will not accept the doctor certificate signed in Thailand and they would not accept it in 2015 either. I will simply need to keep 800 k in a Thai bank and renew my extension of stay yearly unless someone can recommend a Texas doctor that will sign the form for less than 150 USA dollars.

If you have a US health insurance, the check should be free as a yearly physical exam mandated in ACA. My insurance paid $175 that the doctor charged.

My family doctor I had for years with health insurance refused to sign the form. It was not what he normally sees for a form and was “weird” according to him. When they say no you cannot make them.

I checked around at the walk in clinics till I found a doctor willing to do it reasonably.

What city and state. I went to 5 before the doctor would sign it for 275 dollars including the tb test. The doctors don’t like the form as it makes no sense and they are signing official documents that are not in their normal course of practice.

  5. Hello

The last time I got an O-A visa from Washington DC USA in 2015 I tried to use a Thai doctor signed medical form that I obtained in Bangkok for 100 baht. The Thai embassy would not accept it. My USA doctor refused to sign the medical form because it was weird according to his words.

I had to go to a doctor in the box clinic and pay almost 275.00 to get him to sign the form and do the tb test etc...

Has anyone been able to use a Thai doctor medical report for an O-A visa in USA. If so when and where. If not does anyone know a doctor or clinic in Texas that will sign the form cheaper than 275.00 USA dollars.

I have an extension of stay now but I am thinking of going back to use the O-A visas if I can resolve the medical form cost issue. Thank you for your input.

  6. If you were married in the USA as your post hints then all she has to do is find a good divorce lawyer who will direct her to move to the state that will be best for her divorce settlement. If married in Thailand and filed the papers then you still have risks if she gets advice from a good lawyer.  See a Texas lawyer soon.

I honestly cant think the point of hiring a detective, if she is a prositutte, she will be with every guy that walks past, and offering the right price,

and she will be accepting money from anyone who is willing to pay and that she can handle

why would you need confirmation of the bleating obvious

Simply not true but hope you feel better saying it and thinking it.

He does what makes him happy - and why not?

It seems he has a lot of money and it seems she makes him happy enough that he is willingly spending that money.

    And why not?

Should he die in the UK with lots of money and leave it maybe to his kids or a charity or what?

I think many people who write or talk about situations like that would do the same or other crazy things if they would have lots of money. Is it i.e. smarter to buy a Ferrari or maybe a big house or something "sensible"?

Spot on.  I doubt he is giving her 200,000 baht a month but if he is then he earned his money and can spend it.

To the OP do you even spend 200,000 baht a month? If no then who are you to ask where his brain is?  Your brain could not generate 200,000 baht a month of income for yourself. So who is missing the brain?

I have watched some of my Thai friends bemoan the fact that they could not go to Chumporn nor Chiang Mai for a holiday, too expensive for thai, over the last 4 years... Mmmmm ?

Now they can take their families to Japan, Hong Kong and UK.

Somehow I don't think they saved the money to go on holiday.

No none of them won any jackpot either. So.....

Japan and Hong Kong are very expensive places to travel to for hotels and everything. No comparison to Chiang Mai or Thailand.

Should never be allowed to hold a driving licence again, EVER!

Manslaughter 5 years, x 2 = 10 years, culpable killing by being drunk.

I disagree. We all do and have done stupid things in our lives. Most times no one is hurt. No one is perfect. But he is remorseful and paid a lot of money to the family so give him another chance at life and driving.
