If he truly loved Thailand, why would he want to commit suicide and leave his beloved country? ????
You have never experienced pain that makes you want to jump or overmedicate and pass on. I hope you never do experience this type of pain but there are some illnesses in this world that make life too hard to continue. Rip to the young man and yes 60 is young.

The baht opened at 31.39 to the US dollar this morning (June 9), strengthening from its previous close of 31.40.
31.39 is stronger than 31.40? really? is this Math Thai style?
Quick on the gun to criticize Thailand ????. You are on the correct forum to criticize Thailand and Thai people even if you are wrong. ????????????????????

Can't blame them really, if you are stuck overseas and can't get in you should be directing your ire at the US and UK governments, both whom have made a complete disaster out of handling the crisis.
Thankfully you have never had any experience in running the USA or any country with lots of different interests and opinions.
You are entitled to your opinion and write it with 100 percent authority, conviction and confidence. I am thankful your opinion does not matter.
You have no experience running a country and IMO would be horrible at running the USA or Europe, especially if you think Thailand has handled the “virus” situation correctly. ????

I missed the post where he or anyone else inquired about whether you were sympathetic. We all know you lack empathy so no need to waste our reading time in the future with your no sympathy posts. ????

Open everything. Give us the information and let those that want to work go to work and those that want to go the ability to go out. Those that want to stay home and wash their hands all day can do that. Lockdowns are more harmful than the virus to the mental, physical and financial health of real people.
We drink alcohol, drive, smoke, eat too much, and have sex with many partners. You don’t have to but you can. Stop the hypocrisy of wanting to save life’s and stop the lockdown which is killing people.

Not an affront against anyone as not one decision fits all people.
But for me everyday I am thankful that in the last four plus years I did not buy a condo or car or get married in Thailand. And thankful to the TVF posters who made me think to keep it simple. Invest in Thailand only what you can afford financially and emotionally to leave.

I'm actually quite grateful to an older woman ( mid-thirties ) who had a fling with me when I was in my early twenties, she taught me a lot about pleasing a woman sexually.
I agree for us older guys it's about money, which is why Thailand is such a great place. Having said that, I enjoy giving women as much pleasure as they give me. It doesn't happen every time, doesn't have to.
Don't need to get a grip, my GF usually does that for me. 24 years younger than me.
I feel lucky to be taught sex by some great go go women in Nana plaza. That is why I never complain about Thai women. Worth all the money I paid and the little bit I was ripped off. ????

IF I was married to a Thai pre covid she would need to obtain a visa to come to AU.
I have a UK mate and every time his Thai wife travels to UK she obtains a visa.
Many countries are currently not issuing visas and have stopped visa exempt entries.
You are misinformed and confused.

I have Thai friends that are good people. I am not a Thailand basher.
But if anyone is confused that this Thai government is racist then not allowing spouses and fathers into the country should confirm the obvious. If you are not born in Thailand and a Thailand citizen this government has no respect for you. Just send your money to your Thai wife and kids and keep working in another country and smile while you are barred from seeing your family. They don’t want you. They want your cash transfers.

If anything should be learned by the Corona pandemic it's to stop eating garbage i.e. raw flesh and rotten animal-based "sauce". Stick with hot cooked food, canned food, frozen packed food, fresh hygienically washed produce. Not implying what specifically caused Coronavirus, but at least stop ingesting raw rotten garbage and calling it "food". People in modern countries go to charming novelty Thai restaurants and think they are eating "real" Thai food but don't know the truth. What many baan-nok chao-ban folks eat here barely qualifies as "food". Pla-ra is just another extreme example of what some people are willing to put in their mouth.
Do you know all the chemicals and byproducts they put in commercially canned food that is grown on corporate owned farms sprayed with chemicals to maximize production per acre? Commercial can food is not a good example of healthy food IMO.

I loved the old Thailand. I may sound like an old disgruntled man. But I can live anywhere and I am lucky. I don’t like the Thailand government today or the army today. They don’t like me. Not hard to figure out. The losers are the Thai people who I do like and financially support. Go f yourself general

The previous world power is now just an island in a global world. It’s size and population is smaller than some states in USA and provinces of China. Who really desires to buy a currency from a small island country that is arrogant. It also has a terrible history of stealing most of the stuff in the British museum and treating its neighbors the Irish and Scottish terribly.
Does anyone like the Brits and does any country need the Brits anymore?
I like the working British people personally. But their monarchy and government are only important for history lessons of a fallen empire. And their currency is like what if Ohio has its own currency. No one would care.

You have never been to a Thai village. The Thai village grocer- liquor stores sell liquor 365 days a year. The owners usually live at or adjacent the to the store. The enforcement of alcohol bans don’t apply to these Thai owned village businesses.

Personally I am happy the AirBnB owners will be hurting. IMO they were ignoring the hotel laws by renting condos by the night or week in buildings built for long term tenants and live in owners only.
Maybe one good thing to come out of the virus will be the decline or elimination of AirBnB in many cities.
If you want to stay in a place for a short term like a month or week or two weeks, get a hotel. If you have condos and want to rent them by the night on AirBnB then karma is a bit$$ and you took a chance, ignored the hotel laws, took a bad risk, and lost.
Lots of condos will be for sale and get cheaper and cheaper in 2021 especially by those owners of multiple units with bank loans. Hotel rooms will be cheaper also due to a lack of demand and fewer airplane seats in the air in 2020 and 2021 compared to 2019.

Plenty of quality to being made these days, but going to have a hard time finding anything that lives up to GoT and Breaking Bad. "Better Call Saul" is the prequel to Breaking Bad with the same writers and many of the same characters. Can't really go wrong.
Don’t disagree. I just watched Homeland and the final episode is on tonight in USA. It was really good also. It was recommended and I hope there are more great shows and some movies out there. Watching Movies John Wick 1.2,3 and awesome also. ????

Hello
I have not watched TV a lot in the last few years so I am out of the loop of good shows and movies for the last 5 years. Recently I watched all of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Homeland. Loved them all.
What shows and movies did you like and recommend to watch and what are they available on .i.e HBO, Showtime, Netflix ....
many thanks ????

Sounds like a thought out response for a new type of problem- social distancing.
Or we could just lock down the whole world and go bankrupt.

Some good information on TFV. Problem is you have to get through all the old men who see the worst in everything and know it all Thai experts.
My Thai landlady in Bangkok soi 13 one bedroom 73 square meters charged 30,000 baht A month in 2016 and 2017. I moved out. In 2019 she rented the condo to me for 25,000 because I am clean and pay on time. I moved out to experience a new place. She was willing for me to stay for 22,000 because the numbers of expats that pay on time is decreasing and she owns 4 condos in that building.
don’t buy all the Thai BS you read on this forum. Most of these guys don’t know any Thai people, never traveled Thailand, do not understand any of the Thai language or culture and enjoy their personal misguided feelings of “superiority, expertise, and misery.”
Read about why misery and judgment make some humans feel “In control and emotionally comfortable” and you will get a picture of the daily TVF complainers and “experts.”
Everything is negotiable. Good and bad Thai people and good and bad expats. Most people are good. Most daily experts and complainers are not worth your time, void of facts, emotionally damaged and have few friends and almost no intimate relationships. They have lived here in their bubble world for a long time so that is their claim to fame and foundation of their knowledge.
Good luck.- 2

Don’t put profit before safety by allowing foreign tourists to return to Thailand too soon, warns doctor

I like your Philippines reference chart. I have been trying to fly to Manila internationally on Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific airlines but the Philippines government is not allowing foreigners fly into Manila unless you are married to a Filipino. Thus your Philippines Airlines chart confuses me. Do you know any nonmarried expats that have been allowed to fly to Manila? If yes please pm me as I need to get back to Manila ASAP.
As for the old men who are for the lockdown, there are many people unemployed and hungry and cannot pay their bills. Personally I would unlock the world and let the virus take its course. Just like we allow people to drive and buy alcohol and smoke and make their own decisions about their health. The virus is not that deadly unless you are old and weak. The rest of us should be free to take the chance of the virus and go back to work.
