  1. Change of subject. Who is willing to run Fantasy this year? What about our newest member?

putting my team together at the moment and will be watching the NAB to see how some of the newbies go

We should run a new post/thread mr chooks, fantasy football in here is like a leper walking through a coles supermarket, the tipsters pay us no attention.

Anyway I'm in....obviously i have to back it up, your in because you won 19 on the trott, I'm sure GRANT will be in because he just needs to go that one more further, JO will be in because at least he needs to Finnish above me since i will Finnish above him in tipping, WILL will be in because he's a good sport, RON will be in because its something to do in-between keeping his threads alive, Rip will be in so the Swans have a better chance..........anyone else?

PS..whats the rules with fantasy? can we run multiple teams?

Yes 19 straight and fell over in the last week prior to the grand. I think I should have traded a couple of players from teams who weren't going to make the finals as they knew thier season was over and just went through the motions. A lapse in concentration from me but this year all the way and catch me if you can.

Mr chook unless you have it up i started a new fantasy league....what shall we do?

if you have created a league then let's run with it.

  3. what a fine mash of comments . I only opened this up as I thought it was related to Northern Thailand , but no , CNX . It might be in the North if you live in Pattani but if you live 20k short of Maesai CNX is a 3 hour drive south. Then " Roosters captain Mitchell .............." . I thought Ah American sporty something ................. nope Aussie rules something sporty. All because I live in the north. Back to Spaniard arrested for playing Bridge in Myanmar.

Rugby, not Aussie rules. They are two entirely different games. Football players don't have a beastiality fantasy.
  4. I agree with a previous commentor..... finding an envelope full of cash surely cannot be theft. He is guilty of not handing it in????

He didn't physically take it from the Issam Barhoumi (who probably had a few dollars left from his Ladyboy adventure in Pattaya).

He should've asked the Bangkok Airways staff if the cash belonged to them, if they said no he could've maybe got away with it . Finders keepers! Issam Barhoumi is a buffoon.

If I find a 100 baht note on the pavement and pick it up..... am I a thief????

Anyone with tattoos and a vest should not be allowed into Thailand in the first place. Perhaps there should be a tickbox on the immigration slip that asks if the visitor intends to wear a vest.

Actually it's called theft by finding. A person must make all reasonable attempts attempts to locate the owner which means lodging property with authorities and if it isn't claimed by the right full owner within a specified period of time then the finder can legally keep it.
  5. I chose to see it from a brighter perspective than most... The corruption is a big problem but it's getting better and better. During Thaksin the level of corruption rose to over over 30% and according to my Thai friends and associates (some of them so high up in the Thai hierarchy that they even have direct access to dr. Thaksin, Abhisit and/or Prayut) it got even worse during the reign of his sister so if it was "ONLY" 6-15% last year then it's actually a quite good improvement!

So Thaksin was the founder of corruption?
  6. Go for Geary as next skipper, says Gilbert

ST KILDA defender Sam Gilbert says Jarryn Geary would be his choice as the Saints' next captain when skipper Nick Riewoldt eventually hands over the reins.

But he said Riewoldt remained the best captain he had ever seen and he would be happy with whoever held the title in 2016.

The Saints have not declared Riewoldt as the skipper for this season, but the 33-year-old champion remains the likely choice.

Gilbert said the St Kilda leadership group was strong and that remained the most important consideration.

St Kilda wants extra rookie over Carlisle ban

ST KILDA wants the AFL to allow it to add a rookie to its list after losing recruit Jake Carlisle to suspension after the Court of Arbitration for Sport's imposition of season-long bans on 34 past and present Essendon players.

Saints CEO Matt Finnis said on Sunday the club would upgrade a rookie to the senior list to replace Carlisle but would like the opportunity to add another player as a rookie so they were not disadvantaged.

He said the AFL was considering the matter.

"Our focus is to upgrade a rookie [but it] remains to be seen whether we will have another player to add to our rookie list in place in that upgrade."

Nicks last year, leave him as captain. Not sold on Geary, next year look at Billings if he proves himself this year.

I think it's only fair that other clubs effected should be allowed to top up. They also have lost players due to the essendon suspension.

Port, saints and demons look like taking essendon to court for the wages of those suspended and the dogs may also. 600k for the drugged out idiot Carlisle.

I will settle for essendon's 1st pick in the 2016 draft. Would have to be higher than pick 5 they got for the druggie Carlisle.

  10. Since chooks is back looks like fantasy is on again.....hope your going to field a team bookie.

By the way chooks, around the time you were ummm deleted from the picking you might have not kept up wth who won the Gf in fantasy....it was me.....i could see you developing the colliewoobles there towards the end of the season, a most remarkable 19 straight wins....untill GRANT got you.

Yes I know, was undefeated the whole season, had a great team and they laid down in the finals. Was pissed and thought I would make it right through. Back it up in 2016 Alex.

  12. What has the essendon cpt got against Chapman.

Well Ron I'm glad you asked that question.

You see Chappie wrote a book....and in that book he's had a go at Goodard for ummm well for all sorts of reasons, one of the reasons is Goodard shoot's his mouth off like a gattling gun if i read correctly.....if you read between the lines they don't like each other, Goodard in the press report from last year sounded rather foolish but never the less it can't be all as it seems other wise why make him captain if he rubs people the wrong way. He said a few more words in this mornings Age newspaper on the Chapman affair, something about friends and walls in other words a polite dig at Chappie, dare i say Wooooooooooshaaaaaaa has got a job on his hands.

Its rather interesting that the bombers are actively searching out talent be it over the hill and retired when they had Chapman and Fletcher with in...what gives here?......

Would do you good RON to pay attention here as this was all written up late last year, since your a nice bloke i don't mind repeating myself but lets not make it to often hey big fella?

I must have missed it ,that's why I asked the question. I would like to say that I have a lot of respect for Chapmans ability and the way he played the game.

Have to say that it sounds like there could be fault on either side that both partys should get over for the clubs benifit and their own respectability.

Chappie knows how to fuel sales of his book I reckon

Chappy is a hell of a nice guy, got to know fairly well in the last 3 months as he is now a neighbour. Lives in Niddrie victoria a suburb that borders with Essendon. Shared a few Asahi's with him. A really soft spoken gentleman.
