GF said another case on Samui was mentioned on the news today. Anyone heard anything?
Heard the same, a native travelling from Bangkok to Samui via Suratthani.

I thought it was 1 dose plus PCR for AZ?
Many don't get proof of vaccination before they've got the second jab.

You don't need a copy of the house book, a copy of the landlords Id card, a copy of the rental agreement for future retirement extensions. The Confirmation of Residence you get after having a TM30 filed for you is all immigration is interested in seeing and it is stapled by them into your passport.
This is an improvement for you and for immigration, both of you will have less paper to handle.

It takes quite a bit of self-criticism for a politician to admit that he is doing such a <deleted> job that he shouldn't be monetary rewarded.

For your medical did you need to get an X-ray?
Thai International Hospital doesn't do any X-ray and it is not required by Samui Immigration.

Any updates on this? Been reading about the "Samui Sealed Route" recently.
The Samui Sealed Route is only for tourists arriving from abroad afaik.
Domestic tourists/travellers arriving from a red or dark red zone must quarantine unless they have a negative PCR test within 72 hours before arriving or have been fully vaccinated against covid-19.
In that case no quarantine is needed but they need to follow 'isolation measures' which is:
1. Mask wearing
2. Social distancing (don't touch others, avoid crowded areas) -

It doesn't come unexpectedly after there has been pandemic outbreak in other parts of Thailand.
As a retiree I am ok with having to wait a few more weeks if it means that people who can not avoid exposure to the public gets the jab instead. I can stay home - they can't.

Hard to tell but looks like the big box has just been plonked down right in front of someone’s shop or business?
I've seen similar pictures from another place, I think it was Pattaya.
Probably the same contractor as in Samui...
It is however difficult to find a place for a huge transformer (which substitutes lots of smaller transformers previously up on poles) if it had not been planned for before the land was occupied by buildings.

I asked an official what about the date for foreigners in Samui, I was told it will be available on the 1st of June at the International School of Tourism only)
To clear out any misunderstanding, this is the Sinovac jab for those who are under 60 years old.
The jab for those who are over 60 years old is the AstraZeneca one and it will be given on the 7th of June

You don't really think that the Thais are wanting to attract these types on the old aged pension.
They don't hide the fact they are after quality tourists.
What they are after and what they get is not necessarily the same. Beggars aren't choosers..

A reasonable priced direct flight and I think half of Chiang Mai would come tomorrow - after their second jab of course.
We wouldn't want them right now, them being vaccinated helps them from getting severely sick if they catch the virus but it doesn't help us.
They can still carry the virus so they shouldn't come here until all here have at least got their first vaccine jab which hopefully is done during June.
Samui is once again covid free after the break-out which happened just before or during Songkran and which was caused mainly by local tourist bringing the virus from Bangkok. Not again please!

There was a rumour on Facebook about 2 months ago that the "pumpui" lady from the Samui ofice was going to work on Phangan.
She was not in the Samui office today when I did my 90-day report.

have heard many reports of people just sticking 800K in a "Fixed Deposit Account" and then getting a problem and extension refused because of unforeseen "Bank Charges"
I got a problem with Khun Nok around 2010, he refused to accept a Fixed Deposits Account because the money, if I needed them, were not available instantly. Available next day was not good enough for him but
he offered to solve the problem in return for a 20,000 baht donation which I rejected.
Fortunately he was kicked out of immigration at around the same time they moved to the current office.
I've never been asked to bring the bankbook when doing the 90-day report.

Amazing, if you passed without a medical statement, I needed one in October.
and I needed one late November.
Hey parallaxtech, did you need a copy of your rental agreement (or a yellow book) and a hand draw map of the way to your place of stay?
Those docs are not mentioned in the general requirements you quoted but still required by Samui Immigration.

Even simple little things like bread or a croissant add up over the course of the month and easy cost as much as you pay for a meal at the local noodle stand for an entire meal.
Hopefully that bread last longer than a single meal..
