But the important thing is that even with my dTac package being only 4 Mbps, I never experience any buffering when watching YouTube vids or streaming 123movies on my laptop using my mobile phone as Hub.

You and a few other posters has not noticed that the OP wants to connect 7-8 devices each connecting to youtube or netflix at any time so worst case is that they are all doing it at the same time.

There is no way a 4Mbps connection can handle so much traffic, the OP will need the highest speed package he can get ie 10Mbps from the provider he choose.

You might be correct, but bear in mind the immigration officies might have slightly different regulations in various areas, some people at Koh Samui immigratio has however reported, that they been asked to show bank statement when doing 90-day report...

Those two cases was a year ago, I have not heard of anyone recently being asked to bring proof of money staying in the account so if you were not being told to bring that for your next 90-day report then don't.

Checking during the year is not something they can do while at the same time allow 90-day report over internet but they will ultimately notice when you apply for your next 1-year extension since they require to see your bank book at that time.

But if not, Thailand/Samui/Phuket/etc will boom extremely starting latest November 2020. People worldwide have more than enough of homestay. And they are so much longing for warm outdoors, tropical beaches, warm seas, fresh seafood under the stars etc, personal freedom and heaven for a while.

Sure they do but can they afford it this year? I mean those who still have got a job.

I don't expect Samui to be crowded this year.

Two weeks ago they tried to sell the 990 baht medical to me as well there, including bloodtest and x-ray for lungs. I noticed the brandnew entrance hall and thought they need somebody to pay for their new marble tiles.

Have to disagree even though I haven't been there, I also go to Thai Inter.

It is well worth spending those additional 740 baht for a blood test and a lung x-ray  if you otherwise don't have it done in a yearly checkup.

The cost is really peanuts and doesn't pay for a marble floor.

Thanks for your reply. But my question was based on "100 amp service would be 4000 baht", which would equal a certain monthly usage, which you pay deposit for. But I don't understand "100 amp service".

I don't think the deposit was for expected monthly usage, it was a deposit only for the meter which btw was heavily overpriced from PEA.

For your info I also have a 30/100 3-phase meter, but 50 percent of my PEA deposit is – or now was – much higher than your's 5,000 baht, and I of course pay normal unit rate around the 4 baht directly, so it's not because someone overcharge me...

Yes I have a memory of paying much much more for the meter at PEA but that was 20 years ago and I cant find the receipt now.  Daughter-in-law registered us on internet for the refund and said we were going to get 5000 baht.

Edit: checked with my son, he says we are going to get 6000 baht.

Small 5/15A single phase meter gets refunded with 500 baht according to him.

    Please explain little more detailed.

4,000 baht equals around 1,000 units; i.e. 1,000 kWh a month if 4 baht each.

It is not about units or unit price.

One pays a deposit for the meter when first having electric installed to a new building and PEA now refunds that deposit.

We got 5000baht back because we have a 30/100 3-phase meter which we once paid a high deposit for.

  7. The adiabatic equation you linked to is the same for a phase wire as for a protected earth wire so I don't know what you are trying to say.

Where in electrical standard safety regulations does it state that you are allowed to use a smaller protected earth wire than the phase wire (if wire size is below 16mm2)?

Please quote the regulations, though of course you can’t because they say nothing of the kind for fixed wiring.

    Of course I can,

IEC 60364-5-54 where fig. 59 shows required c.s.a (cross section area) of the PE wire. -for phase conductor c.s.a < 16mm2 , PE conductor c.s.a = phase conductor c.s.a

    -for phase conductor c.s.a between 16mm2 - 35mm2, PE conductor c.s.a = 16mm2

Furthermore, there does not to my knowledge exist a multi conductor cable where the green-yellow protective ground wire is smaller than the phase or neutral wires.

    1 hour ago, sometimewoodworker said:

The protective wire is not designed to carry significant current for a protracted period, just long enough for the MCB / RCCB / Fuse to blow and do their job, so the permitted current ratings are significantly higher than for normal line and neutral conductors.

For protection against electrical shock you are not allowed to assume that there is a MCB or a correctly sized fuse that will trip.

You must assume that the protective earth wire is the only protection against electrical shock hence can withstand the same current as the phase conductor.

You are clearly not an electrician nor do you understand electrical wiring.

You are wrong about the sizing of earth wiring. 1mm Earth and 2.5mm line and neutral is standard.

    Stick to woodworking.

Why would you want the protective wire to be able to carry less current than the live wire so in case of a short to the chassis of an appliance the protective wire risk burning off before the live wire?

Electrical safety standard regulations states that the safety ground wire should not be smaller than the live wire.

That is filthy to be publishing theses peoples names.

    Why is that?

Are you of the opinion that they have done something wrong, something they should be ashamed of?

This is not the time to protect individuals privacy, one of them happened to bring a deadly virus to Samui and anybody who has been in contact with them should be made aware of that and get tested.
