Its sign of disrespect to your partner to let yourself go. It shows that you take them for granted and have little consideration for their feelings.
100% agree.

I thought a bottle/can opener...
not absolutely necessary in some establishments...
What era do you come from???????????
Can/bottle openers went out 40 years ago..............
They are ring tops now
ring pull bottles, I must look out for them...

...lucky stiff, my escape tunnel is 12 months from completion, I was also thinking about what not to leave behind when I make my run, I thought a bottle/can opener...
Enjoy.

I was there late September 2006 and the sea was fine never rough, rained every day for a couple of hours but then the sun came out. I liked the place and intend to go back early next year when its not rainy season. Enjoy your trip.

So is it best to let the visa run its course in thailand before renewing it or do we renew before the year is up,also do we need to apply from thailand for a polce check in the uk or can we do that before we leave the uk
You need the UK police check to apply for the non-immigrant visa O-A at the Thai consulate in the UK, plus other documents the consulate may require. Call the consulate to ask for details.
When you arrive in Thailand you will receive permission to stay for one year. 3-4 weeks before the expiration of this permission to stay you can apply at any immigration office in Thailand for an annual extension of stay. If your O-A visa is valid for multiple entries and if you wish to do so you can do a border run – leave Thailand and re-enter Thailand – before the visa (not the permission to stay) expires and you will again receive an entry stamp with permission to stay for one year and apply for your annual extension towards the end of this second year.
For the application for extension of stay in Thailand you do not need a police check, but remember to have minimum 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account for at least 3 months prior to the application.

Maestro, does that mean if you get your timings right you get do almost 2 years on an O-A extension without showing money?

Anybody see the fight last night in Nana, well not so much as a fight more like a timid kicking, the big fat guy (GF says he's a she) from Lollipops got a kicking from somebody from upstairs, it happened just by the walk way to the short time hotel, much better than cablel football, what was it about?, turfs wars? turd wars? the security stood there like it was a cimema, oh well, back in England now so it's knifes and guns not fist and boots I'll be lookinhg for.

move up country and become a money lender, those shits make shed loads of dosh

Having just returned to England from a great trip to meet the GF’s family who live in a village near Satuk,
firstly, I would like to say many thanks to Arthur and Muanfun who run the “Baan Muanfun Resort” near Chomphon buri where we stayed, thanks for your help and good company,
secondly, the GF myself, Arthur and Muanfun had a couple of drinks and a bite to eat on the floating restaurant on the Munn river at Satuk, when leaving the restaurant one of the deck floor board cracked and broke and I was sent sprawling onto the deck with my right leg dangling in the river, I was shocked but luckily only suffered from a badly bruised knee and slight cuts and grazing to the leg, however after extracting myself from the hole in the deck I did notice that several other of the floor boards seemed to be the worst for wear , watch your step if you eat afloat. Apart from that a great trip and nice people.

I guessed my MINT VISA credit card and PIN had been compromised so I tried to change the PIN at the Bangkok Bank Bankapi branch on Sukvit, the machine went thru all the motions of OLD PIN and NEW PIN and confirm NEW PIN only to tell me in the end that it could not change the PIN this also happen when I tried to change the PIN on my NationWide Dbt card, also both cards failed to change at another bank down Soi 8, the customer service for MINT VISA seemed to think the problem was because the card and change was being done in Thailand, that can't be right can it?

Jingthing you quoted "BTW, I think you totally incorrect that massive complaining would not work IF we are really wanted. Expats in the Philippines have been complaining for many years that the dollar deposit amount for their lifetime retirement program was too high, and thus the program wasn't popular. They recently reduced the one time required dollar amount dramatically. (From 50K USD for those over 50 down to 20K and only 10K for those with pensions)."
have you got a link to this on the web, everything I've read on the Philippines says $50k, at $20k this would be a great plan-B if it goes tits-up in Toyland.
-
some what of subject but is the 40k monthly family income likewise the 65k retirement income a gross or net figure?
-
if next year you have to present ATM slips does that mean you must withdraw and spend the full 65K per month?

just booked LHR to BKK end Sept. with eBookers for £464 with EVA air direct flight.

I hate teeth, a real design fault if you ask me, hope it all went well, post the outcome so maybe others (me) will know a good place to go.
-
Be careful if you decide to get a taxi, the G/F and I took a cab from the old airport to Satuk, yeah sure the taxi driver said he knew the way "no problem", 8 hours later we got there and that was by luck not judgement.

The Lek is OK, stayed there several times, staff have always been friendly, but I think for your money you'll be in the old building and I don't know what that's like.
Dollars, Sterling, Atm, Travellers Cheques?

I can't advise on Dollars/Cambodia as I've never been there but I certainly would not put all my eggs in one basket as far as Travellers Cheques OR Nationwide card, on my last trip to Isaan I took two credit cards, one cash card, one debit card, a small amount of Baht (i think 10K) and about £200, no point going on holiday and finding yourself without money for what ever reason.
Hope you have a good trip.
