Yes I use it great service easy set up great customer care and plenty of chanels with more added frequently now with the Thai chanels you mentioned

Does it have any of the True Sports channels (TrueSport HD1 etc)?

Do you HAVE to have an Android box or could I use my MacBook which I regularly connect to my TV?

. Have you found another option that you could recommend  ?

As I am only into watching sports I recently used 365's 3 month trial. Technically flawless and a joy to watch but I couldn't yet convince myself to spend almost 1000 Baht for their premium package.

Have you tried ILikehdtv  which is probably half the price ?

IlikeHD? A waste of money for me even if it was only 10% of what it costs now. What's the point of a "cheap service" if the service is still "###}%" and unwatchable most of the time?

  4. Sorry if this has been posted before. I might have missed it ...

So basically I have my flight to thailand then and 3 months later a flight out and another 3 months later another flight out.

Would that be reasonable or will I run into trouble ?

Thank you very much for your advice and help !

I cannot speak on behalf of the Thai Embassy in Berlin nor do I have direct experience in dealing with them when it comes to applying for the "new" METV. That said, I applied for 2 METVs with a honorary consulate in Germany.

Generally speaking, an outbound flight (ex TH) is not a requirement for the METV and as such I didn´t have to show proof of a flight ex TH (just an inbound flight to TH). If I were you I wouldn´t buy 2 outbound tickets unless you are now 100% sure you´d want to use them precisely on those dates you are buying them for. If you are unsure, the only way to go ahead is to call Berlin.

PS: In your position, I´d be probably more concerned about the other requirements set for the (new) METV (employment, cash in bank etc).

PPS: The visa you applied and got rejected for 2 years ago was not the METV we are discussing here in this thread.

  6. I haven´t been to Victory Monument since the relocation of the van services. Therefore, could anybody tell me if there are *any* services still departing from / arriving at VM or if ALL of them have been moved? Also, how do I find out where a specific service has been moved to? I used the van to Thammasat and Bangkok University quite often and wonder where they are leaving from nowadays. Does anyone know?

How do I apply for a refund?

I bought my 20 year elite visa earlier this year.

First I see there's a 50% discount, now there will be 10 year visas available for only 10,000 baht. I feel I got into this a bit late.

Simple! Contact TE and ask for a refund.

PS: Please, let us know what their reply was. Thank you!

I keep reading people knocking ilikehd but having had minimal problems I'm curious what are the problems people are having. They have lost their CTH 'feed' but they now seem to have replaced it with a feed from one of our neighbours (Cambodia? ) plus the games are on Astro (basic sport package) and Sky, BT if you have basic uk package - I have both.

For me, the 2 main issues at the time (a few months ago) were a/ "channel unavailable" and b/ constant buffering which made watching any live sport impossible/unbearable.

I have been using the 3 months 365sport "trial package" for some time now and technically speaking it was just a pleasure to watch. For me, no buffering or any other issues whenever I watched a live event. Still, with the 3 months trial coming to an end this month I will not re-new since I cannot justify paying 999TBH (or so) for the amount of live sports I am watching these days.

^Have you ever emailed your problem to them? I've found they are quite quick to respond and have been helpful.

If that question is addressed to me then: Yes, I did. Numerous times and, yes, they are very, very fast in replying to any sort of questions you might have. But when I approached them time and again with my issues the only thing they replied with was that they were aware of the issues, that True are blocking their boxes and that´s why some channels are down and so forth and so forth. At least, they were very honest in their replies and I applaud them for that. I still have some credit in my account with them but really cannot be bothered trying again given that I constantly read here on TV that people still have the same issues that I encountered some months ago.

I've used ilikehd at home in Thailand and rarely has a glitch, used it upcountry and overseas asia and it's a bit hit and miss, but I'm not sure is it their servers or the wifi I use - I think it's the latter.

For me it has been unwatchable 98% of the time here in Central BKK both using wifi or directly connected to the router. It´s a shame because on paper it is a great product but technically it doesn´t work for me, unfortunately.

It would be just over 1 month. Current METV expires late January 2017, but will be apply for a new METV in December 2016.

Going back home to UK for Christmas holiday season and applying for new METV so I can continue to travel Thailand and around Asia in 2017.

Would be interested to know if anyone has had success doing this? I'll certainly keep my experience posted

I managed to do exactly what you plan to achieve albeit not in the UK but in Germany. I hold both passports so inquired with both the UK embassy as well as one of the German consulates. Got a quick and positive response from the German consulate so went there on my latest trip to Europe. They just cancelled my previous METV and issued the new one. So, theoretically, as ubonjoe already said, you shouldn´t have any issues getting a new METV but as always YMMV.....

No, I'm saying buy Thai 96.5% gold bars from one of the major Chinatown gold shops or their branches (such as the one I mentioned on the corner of Sukhumvit Road Soi 10).

I planned to buy some gold in this particular shop on the corner of Soi 10 but it has been closed for a few days now. Does anyone know why it closed / it is closed and if it will re-open anytime soon?

Have there been any reports of either METV's issued with no problems or alternatively questions asked at foreign embassies and consulates when applicants apply for a second METV? Since they have been available for approximately a year now, there must be some people going for a second one.

I just did a back-to-back one with the old one expiring on Nov 1 and the new one issued on 4 Nov. No questions asked at all......

I apologize if this has been covered ad nauseum, but how certain is it that you can get a 60-day stamp if you do a border run just before your METV expires?

Mine expires on Nov 26th (issued in Canada) and I'm trying to weigh the relative merits of extending it at Chaeng Wattana for 30 days or doing a border run to Poipet about a week before the 26th in the hope of getting a 60-day stamp that will allow me to stay until late January.  Is this like a 90+% proposition or can some immigration officers only give you a 30-day, or ....less?

    Thanks.

100% certainty that you get a new 60 days stamp when you re-enter on the 26th.

If indeed the new norm is GBP on par with USD, expect the immigrant levels in the UK to rise as the well heeled take advantage of a cheap housing market.

Well, imho there´d be nothing cheap about the UK housing market even if prices were 20% lower than today.... but that´s a completely different topic .... 1:1 USD/GBP? Well, who knows!? It´s certainly heading in that direction at the moment.... I hope we won´t go that low as it would quite dramatically impact my UK savings....

  16. Investor Jim Rogers says there are "serious problems facing the UK" and that the pound's value will "certainly go under one dollar" if Scotland leaves the UK.

He told the BBC's Mark Mardell, "You've got a lot of debt, you've got a serious balance of trade problem which shows no signs of being corrected. I don't see anything to make sterling go up."

Not necessarily directed at you DUS.

If you are really that worried about Thailand's future you should probably be asking yourself whether you would relocate to Thailand in the first place. What type of visa to get is a secondary matter. If you feel Thailand is too risky to purchase a visa that is relatively a financial pin prick for most people, you should consider if you really want to move here.

For many of us the move here actually costs more  than the visa with shipping, air tickets, deposits on condos etc. I also feel this is a reason you won't see the TE available ever for periods of under 5 years. The long term commitment is what they want and it weeds out people that are mere opportunists for the most part.

I seem to be the exception to the rule and am not looking to spend my life in Thailand. It does occur to me from reading this thread most other Elite members have plans to spend a very long time here if not their remaining days in Thailand.

It seems every month or so we have somebody come in here to just spout off at the mouth about a product they don't want to somehow inform others. Much like their transient visa solutions these people come and go. The people who are TE members stay the course and continue to express their satisfaction with the program.

The people that continually come berate the program have no skin in it and like the sound of their own voices.  Anybody considering it should take the level of customer satisfaction into account and  that currently stands at 100%. Believe me if they screwed anybody over people would be crying foul here.

Ah, I couldn´t agree more with you! Hitting the nail on the head ....
