First of all, don't shop in Pantip...it's the same as shopping in Patpong. Customer service is non-existent except for a couple of shops and it's just not worth the hassle...shop in Fortune Town.
Second, the problem could very likely be the RAM or the power supply (most cases here come with crap ones unless you brought a name-brand case). If it's the RAM, you likely have lifetime warranty, so it's easy to replace...the power supply, not so easy, you might just have to buy a new one and put it in your case.
I also agree about ASUS, they are pretty much as good as it gets...and if you were able to install Windows and everything went OK, I very much doubt it's the board that's causing the problem.
What other components do you have? Video card? Sound card? TV tuner? Try diagnosing the problem by starting the PC only with the bare minimum components and seeing if it resets.

www.scoozi.com - try the Parma ham pizza, delicious

Beach-wise, Batu Ferringhi (20-30 minute drive from Georgetown) is the main choice and is not too bad...I also love the colonial area around Town Hall and (though I've never been) the Muka Head lighthouse seems like a very pleasant way to spend half a day

Excuse me, but why would you want a 3G if the support for it is not available yet in Thailand? Assuming you live mainly in Thailand. By the time it's available, the iPhone will be outdated.
3G iPhone also has built-in GPS, which is a plus for most people with a car, no?

16000+VAT in Fortune for a 160GB model...someone also mentioned to me 15.900 with VAT included, but apparently for an 80GB version.

Hehe, yeah, can't say there was any room in me for anything else after eating that sandwich Will try the burger also...

Hi,
here is today's special - the world famous Reuben Sandwich on our own Rye Bread
since ChefsXP has proven to be very effective with lots of orders ever since we joined, I have to say that I produced for about 30 servings (mainly the Bread) - so it may be possible that we run out eventually!
B 245.00 - Served with French Fries and cole slaw as well as a Hengstenberg Pickle
John
Had the Reuben a couple of days ago, excellent! The bread was also amazing, nothing beats homemade...just one thing, though, on your menu, what is the difference between a Reuben on rye or a Reuben burger? Because it seems only the burger comes with the fries, coleslaw and pickle, I didn't get anything but the (ENORMOUS ) sandwich with my order.

I also use Adblock for Firefox, but quite frankly, even with ads pages load quickly and the overall experience just feels...right. I think that you guys need to try it and make up your mind based on that. On paper, there are many reasons to stick with Firefox...but in actual usage, it makes Firefox look like a hog!

Google's free image management software has just been updated and now includes a separate viewer...you just MUST check out the viewer, it's the nicest one I've ever tried, especially in Vista.
It doesn't allow for much editing (no cropping & such), but what it does, it does well:
Direct download: http://dl.google.com/picasa/picasa3-setup.exe

Had a look at the homepage, it seems to have nice features, and the multi-processes architecture should make it very stable (if one application in a tab crashes, other tabs are not affected).
But does it have mouse gestures (they don't say anything about it)?
Nope, not even middle-click support...it's definitely not for Opera fanatics
But really, I haven't been able to stay away from it ever since I installed it, I think they've managed to make a truly transparent browser, you literally don't feel it's there!

Very impressed with it so far...super-fast and at least on the sites I frequent without rendering issues. Still need to keep Firefox for its addon goodness, but if a community develops around this one also, it could be huge.

I'm also considering this one, it looks like a great camera...post pics soon!

Or try UOB...100.000 deposit for a 100.000 credit-line Platinum card.

I reckon I've just about had it with TRUE Internet and their useless staff...
I've heard good things on this forum about KSC and am curious about how it works...their Prima packages are too expensive for me (I need 4Mb and it costs 7990 with Prima as opposed to 2400 with the Lite option), so I wonder if anyone has it and can share their experience?
Thanks in advance!

1. Get a savings account with Kasikorn Bank
2. Get online banking for that account
3. Apply for an "e-web card" from within your online banking
4. VerifyByVisa your newly obtained virtual card
Works beautifully for many things...withdraws money from your savings account, no need for income statements to get it, etc. It basically only has 2 limitations:
1. transactions must require a CVV code (if they don't ask for one on the retailer's website, the transaction will be rejected)
2. it doesn't work for sites that want a credit card as a guarantee...like if you want to "secure" a hotel booking but not pay it immediately, it won't work (at least on the sites I tried)

27K for the iPhone 3G 8GB as of last week...
Aswin, DTAC has the most extensive EDGE network in Bangkok...their promotions vary, but I think you can get a plan for 299 Baht which includes something like 150 hours of EDGE use.
Prepaid sim cards also have data access, but usually not enabled by default, they require a call to customer service and the cost is 1 baht/minute after it's enabled (irrespective of actual transfer amounts)

I just called them to complain, their reaction was that "oh, we only did this one time"!!! Are they 5 year old kids??
A service outage I can understand, there are no guarantees with DSL, but this is willful behavior on their part! This sort of stuff wreaks havoc with things like long FTP uploads and their method of getting your net back is not at all straightforward to the average person, I got 3 calls from non-techie friends yesterday and today about this crap.
-
It redirects all HTTP traffic to a page similar to their "Overdue balance" page and blocks traffic on all other ports as well...I can't believe they expect people to actually react nicely to this "invitation" and register!
And as Sabum said, you need to manually disconnect your DSL connection (by unplugging the router or what not) to get it working again...and they mention that you need to do it this way even if you do follow their link and register for the convention!
-
NEVER, EVER HAVE AN ISP CUT OFF MY INTERNET TO SHOW ME SOME SPAM ABOUT SOME MOTHER****ING CONVENTION!!!!!
This happened both at home and at the office, in different areas of Bangkok...all Internet traffic gets cut off and when trying to browse you get nicely redirected to a lovely little page which encourages you to register for some bloody convention that they're part of...in fine print it is mentioned that if you want your net back, you need to reconnect your DSL.
At home I didn't mind so much, but to cut off whole offices from the net just because of their goddamn SPAM is unacceptable!

Found the company and e-mailed them, thanks!

What a retarded, xenophobic article...care to post the source while you're at it?
I especially loved the "it is only 20 years ago that these guys were queuing barefoot for bread in the snow" comment...I can't say I'm a fan of the New Russians, but this piece of trash journalism makes my blood boil.
If someone decides to go to Pattaya or Ibiza on holiday, what do they expect?? Places like that are full of trashy people from all over the Northern Hemisphere!
Rule #!: Never ever miss an opportunity to trash Pattaya!
(The Russians have come, and they are loud.)
So hold on, what you're saying is that Pattaya does not have trashy people?
I'm not saying everyone is like that, but there are PLENTY of people like that...and not at all limited to Russians. I agree that they're loud and obnoxious, but I think no more so than any other drunken idiots trying to get laid in places like Pattaya.
-
I second the request, living in a condo the concept of a small, easily-sustainable garden sounds great...anyone with experience?

One particular feature which I find very handy is the extension to the amount of text you can paste into a Messenger window, I often stumbled into the character limit that MS had implemented.
Neeeeeeeed Pizza!
