Looks like the 'transformers' Z1000 but cannot wait to see the new retro Z900.

This one ! Yep me too looks my ticket (each to their own eh). But this we will have to wait for, earliest seems to be 2018. Also as this concept bike stands, it is a totally different engine and displacement is 900cc. Allegedly first to be produced will be without supercharger and then with, yum yum ! I'm saving up already but it may never make Thailand for 'on sale' as its led to believe it will be produced in Japan.

     and no abs

It appears that earlier reports in October said 'optional' but the three bikes in OP at both prices 'appear' to come with ABS as standard (from a thai article dated yesterday). Can have a look yourself ..also in link embedded official Kawasaki video.

    http://www.mocycmai.com/kawasaki-z900-abs-2016-2017/

Oh also FYI: 210 kg kerb weight and 124bhp.

  2. New Kawasaki Z900. (4 cyl, 948cc)In two other colours for 399k and this blue one with a few extras etc. rolls in at 429k. Just been shown at a hotel show in Bangkok 2 or 3 days ago. Also will be in the showrooms next month as I was told by my local dealer.  Will also have a demo model too so have been promised a slot when it happens next month to take out for a spin. Also the dealer said that the Z800 is discontinued and the new Z900 replaces it. Not OTT in price for a bike this size eh.

Edit: The two other colours, grey with green frame or flat black.

  3. Nice looking new ninja and about time it was revised. Must admit though, I prefer the old exposed rear shock but cannot be done on this one as configuration has altered with the new frame. 15k baht more and 18kgs down (which is a shed load). Take it on sale from the beginning of the new year?  Worthy of consideration for a 300k bike.

I have tried the Z300, and I don't feel comfortable on - or should I say in it, as I feel like I sit in it, not on it.
I will try and have a look at the Yamaha.

I have seen quite a few Benelli's driving around, and they sound very good - but it seems that there has been some minor quality problems with them, when doing a bit of googling - and they're still not available with ABS?

When is the BMW available? I have seen it mentioned a few times online, but have only seen a release date in India mentioned.

A 1 year old MT03 (best of the bunch)  will set you back the price of a new CB, Z300 personally wouldn't bother ....Benelli 300, minor quality probs: Early versions in the Indian market did have a few problems, later versions in Thailand are so minor they are insignificant (There is a thread here on TV "Benelli TNT300s" with some owners views and quite a few pages of ...cough ...opinion by posters that have never owned one ...go have a look at the later pages) ...compared to quality problems of a dodgy crank on CB then well....

As for Benelli not having ABS then I personally am very happy it hasn't got it, but each to their own eh. As for price, about 7k more than the CB, comes with 3 year warranty, 1 year breakdown cover, 1 year free 1st class insurance ...comparing these two I know which is the better deal.

As for how the CB's are now, I would say they are fine as they wouldn't keep churning them out with the same problem, would they?

Out of the 4 possibles (as BMW not here yet) above I'd place CB 4th ....twin over a single any day in this market segment, but up to you.

I will go, but with the current situation, I'm not sure they will do it. Need to find out...

EDIT: Just checked their FB page and there aren't any updates yet. Let's hope for the best.

Yes and thank you for your comment. It may still go ahead as I am under the impression that the government has said "not for 30 days" and this would fall just past that being the following weekend 19th November.

Also Omega, do you have a link for their FB page, I can read Thai so I could look for myself too. Thx in advance.

  6. No great loss if indeed it is the case. ...gave up on it several years ago, troll central.

    1)Absolutely not. ...

2)We have small restaurant here where her two dogs sleep on the tables, needless to say I never go there. One of these little shits bit a small girl, made a real mess of her and nothing was done. .....

3)This is their country so you have to live with the situation, or "ga bahn".

    (Numbers inserted to reply)

    1) Umm, that's a 100% condition ....My wife's story is not a work of fiction, probably still got the medical records in the wife's paperwork in office @1800 baht. To clarify further: Yes it was my village and we did not know the owners of the dog beforehand ...I went round with my wife while her leg was still bleeding and they were eventually apologetic and offered her some money plus all the medical bills were paid once we showed them reciepts over the course of about 2 weeks (have to go to the hospital over 3 intervals for shots from memory). So 100% nope ... as to how the law stands on this I am not sure, but thenare you a lawyer or do you have a proper written down in law legal answer? I assume you do not.

    2) That's a shame but I hope the child's parents did try to claim against the owner ...or did they just say mai bpen rai thiii muang thai?

    3) Oh noooo, better pack my bags then lol.

Did find this just now ....

Any dog in the street is a hazard until in the mirror, and owners that let them roam are criminally liable in my book...

I do believe the owners are responsible, that is if they have an owner. I hit a dog few years back in a pack of dogs that ran out of a main entrance to a mubaan ...unluckily colliding with the biggest dog wearing a collar. After picking myself up I could see the dog was in pain but managed to scamper away ...some locals helped me too and I asked who the owner was ....blank looks. I'm pretty sure they knew as was not a big village (some 40 houses) but no one really wants to tell you as the consequence is their neighbour would lose money and a bit of face too IMO.

10 yeaes ago, the wife riding a dream was bitten by a dog on our mubaan right outside the owners house .... result all her medical bills paid for shots etc. and some 2000 baht.

So if you can find an owner they are responsible IMO.

and it for 1 year or 5 ?

Your first Thai license now is a temporary 2 year license

The test is not hard, it's real basic stuff, if you can't pass it you shouldn't be allowed on a bike anyway.

Yep, but it's a right ballache ...I did this year as couldn't convert my paper license from UK ....10 hours and 15 minutes later and done. So if there is an option not to have the life sucked out of you for an entire day then well ....

And i don't want to learn Thai, they see me as a ATM-machine anyway ....

See your own post/rant and experience post#25 and your above Thian. I think you have answered your own question as to why.

Plus nothing wrong with my local Honda dealer either ...nothing to do with brand and moreso your attitude, sorry.

Even if i buy me a new bike can i get such service?

Benelli give you a 1 year free breakdown service on a newly purchased one. Limitations are you and the bike to one destination be it your home or authorised Benelli dealer up to 300kms nationwide ....afaik more than 300kms at 5 or 7 baht per kilometer (did ask when purchased was one of those 2 figures). As for English speaking doubtful but then tell em where you want to go and youll get there.

Any other manufacturers offer similar to this? Honda as to above post by eisfeld....any others?

. Also was given 300 baht and I have no idea why.

Good that it's done and I guess 300 baht is for the inconvenience waiting a month to get it finally sorted. Happy riding now Rev.

BTW & FYI : My local Honda chief mechanic said that there are 20,000 recalls in Thailand (the figure by op is for US only) ....that's a lot of busy Honda mechanics nationwide eh !

  13. Sry mods, but since the 'update' lots of ads plus notifications bell is on top of an ad, thus sometimes click but go to an ad not notification (on a tablet by the way). Yep yer gotta make yer dosh but its gone a bit mental since yer update ...nope no infections or change my end otherwise. Please take this as constructive criticism and Im with DKB on this.

Took mine and dropped it off and was told it'd be done in 5 days.

Good luck for you. Local in my town dropped his off at the local dealer (where I get my little Wave serviced) over 2 weeks ago ....still sitting there, hasn't moved: "waiting for parts" so the mechanic said today. Oh dear, I wouldn't be happy with that kind of turn around of a fornight and still counting.

    Geared with clutch....

....and 5 speed. Also disc brakes front and rear plus twin spark single cyl.. Looks quite small the same as MSX's but quite a looker and will sure pick up some of Hondas trade ....looks as if price is also about 9 or 10k less than a MSX. I was in my local Benelli dealer Saturday, not there yet but I did hear 'late 2016' ... so soon?
