Source: The American Prospect So consider Tom Homan, who yesterday was announced as Trump’s choice for “border czar,” and put in charge of Trump’s mass deportation regime. Homan was Trump’s acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) early in the first term, and he was the architect of the infamous family separation policy that Trump halted in 2018 after relentless criticism. Homan swears he is going to carry out Trump’s plan to deport 15 to 20 million people, or about 4 to 6 percent of the entire American population. There are only perhaps 13 million unauthorized immigrants in total, but the discrepancy might be explained by Homan’s plan to avoid family separation by deporting whole families even if some members are citizens.

I'm the guy to the left of you ... the thing is you died a few years back?

The irony is that many who voted for him will see themselves or members of their families deported. Some of these people deserve to go but there are many others doing the jobs in fields and construction sites that many American's don't want to do - when they get kicked out the economy starts to get impacted ... come back "Sleepy Joe", all is forgiven?

Minister launches emergency plan as deadly dust chokes Thailand
AlexRich replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The worst air pollution that I experienced in South East Asia was in Kuala Lumpur, followed by Chiang Mai. Having experienced very little of that in life it was a horrible experience, and I feel sympathy for anyone who has to live in such areas. A lot of the KL smog came over from Sumatra, Indonesia, where farmers were burning fields. It’s a problem that requires coordination and political will … which I see no signs of. -
I hope not. Having said that no one could be worse than the one we have.

I read that last year, but some of his claims (top trader, etc) have been contested … so perhaps he has exaggerated his performance.

Just read Opus by Gareth Gore, about a Catholic sect called Opus Dei, and their criminal activities. Character Limit by Conger and Mac. It details the story of how Elon Musk destroyed Twitter. Currently reading Rinsed by Geoff White, about money laundering in the world of crypto technology.

No, it merely confirms that you have zero sense of humour. No one “insulted” you, all that happened is that someone pulled your leg about not knowing anything about the Pelicot case. But of course we now live in a world we’re everyone is “offended”, and they are offended and traumatised … even when in reality they are not. Welcome to 2025.

Says a guy who’s never heard of the most publicised rape case of the year?
-
Is that you forming an alibi?
-
It was a very curious and strange case. I did wonder whether Mrs Pelicot ever felt the physical aspects of these events afterwards or indeed ever felt drowsy or drugged? I can understand why some men would participate in a sex game involving a husband and wife but once they arrived and realised the wife could not give consent what were they thinking of? They all deserve to be jailed and publicly shamed.

Wife Attacks Husband with Knife After Argument, Near Pattaya

True love. -
I wouldn’t put a number on it, as that doesn’t make sense. I’d like to live as long as my mind is sharp and I have good physical capability. I wouldn’t like to live with advanced dementia. Life is a gift, we should try to make the most of it for as long as we can. I was queuing for my first covid jab in the Sun when an old man and his daughter walked to the front of the queue. The lady explained that her father couldn’t stay out in the Sun on account of being 103 years old. His mind was clear and he was in very good physical condition. It shows you what is possible.

Hong Kong master’s student duped into Thai nightmare
AlexRich replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think anybody can be scammed, although this one was a bit elaborate and many people would have smelled a rat well before they sent any money. Scammers try to catch people unawares, and then scare them into acting quickly, not giving them time to think. -
