Democrats who might run for president if Joe Biden does not
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Saw him too and I like his ideas but he was really, really trying too hard. Maybe had a bit too much coffee in the Green Room before coming on. He needs to tone down the glib delivery and stick to his record and his ideas. -
Spy balloon sent data to China in real time - report
Hanaguma replied to webfact's topic in World News
...so the President was... lying to us when he said the balloon was harmless?!? Say it ain't so, Joe! -
getting a tourist visa outside my contry
Hanaguma replied to pierrenoel's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was wondering the same thing. Applying for a 60 day tourist visa in Japan is ridiculous - you need to submit 10 separate documents, including a guarantor and proof of employment. Much easier from SE Asian countries. Potentially, could I enter on visa exempt for 30 days, renew for 30, leave the country, get a 60 day tourist visa, then renew IT for 30days. Total stay of 5 months. Feasible? -
I preferred the 7.62 NATO round. It hit harder, and for longer distances. I could shoot effectively over iron sights out to 600 metres. Cant do that with the 5.56. But it is heavier to tote and would be terrible for personal defense. Miss with the NATO round and it will travel a LONG way before stopping. This is why hunters generally spurn the 5.56.

According to Statista, the NRA spent a max of $5 million per year in lobbying in the past 25 years. Average is about $3 million. By comparison, Big Pharma spends over $200 million a year. https://www.statista.com/statistics/249398/lobbying-expenditures-of-the-national-rifle-associaction-in-the-united-states/

Chump change. You want to know the REAL big spenders on lobbying? The NRA isnt even on the list. Top is the Chamber of Commerce(nearly $60 million per year), National Association of Realtors, then several Big Pharma/Big Medical groups. https://www.statista.com/statistics/257344/top-lobbying-spenders-in-the-us/

As a card carrying member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, I agree. Not a fan of his politics, but let the voters decide. Being crude should not be an automatic DQ. As for Fetterman, it is obvious that his team hid the truth about his health from the voters. They should be ashamed. All with the willing help of the mainstream media, whose lack of curiosity added to the deception.

I have been staying in Chonburi for a while now. Each time I go to the beach it is overrun with incredibly unhealthy and rude Russians- grossly obese men wearing banana hammocks (budgie smugglers to my Aussie friends), aged babushkas with their leathery skin flowing out of too-tight bikinis, nasty. Plus not even bothering to throw on a t-shirt if they go to a restaurant or shopping center. Grunting away in their primitive tongue, barging the cues and frightening the children. And littering the place up with cigarette butts. From what I hear, Bali is rescinding the visa free entry for them- Thailand should do the same.

Joe Biden's Student Loan Forgiveness Plan Receives Huge Boost
Hanaguma replied to Scott's topic in World News
Similarly, money not budgeted by the government for this plan will be spent elsewhere. Either in lower taxes or on more worthy programmes. This seems so simplistic. To the students: you took out a loan. Pay it back. What is so hard about that? -
Student loan forgiveness: The Supreme Court challenges explained
Hanaguma replied to Scott's topic in World News
...or have prospective students approach financial institutions and make the case as to why they deserve student loans. Show a plan to pay it back, proof of future income, etc. Decide based on merit and not on whim. Costs are increasing at universities for sure. A bit part is that university bureaucracies are exploding. The problem is not teaching staff, it is "support" staff driving the cost. -
Michael Knowles Says Transgenderism Must Be ‘Eradicated’ at CPAC
Hanaguma replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
I am not actually sure what the LGB and T communities have in common. The LGB all need reference to 2 genders in order to make sense. T and the rest of the alphabet soup of identities are the opposite. Just ask a lesbian if she were cool with dating a trans-woman who still had the man-bits attached and a lovely beard. As for Knowles, he wasnt being hateful. He WAS being provocative in the sense of "tired of the hypersexualization of society". In particular the normalizing of unhealthy and what he sees as deviant behaviors that should be treated as mental illness rather than accepted without comment. -
Where were these people when there are more than 20 entire countries in the world where abortion is considered a crime under ANY circumstances? Or the dozens that allow it only if the mother's life is in danger? Nah, easier to whine about the US. Even when many, if not most states have laws that are comparable to supposedly "liberal" western Europe.
