  1. "More factual than Fox" is perhaps the epitome of damning with faint praise. Like being the tallest midget. The links nearly all merely led to yet more Media Matters stories. And as I said, they did not even bother to show in its entirety the message in question. That says a lot to their credibility and honesty as journalists. My response is as above. Tucker was not being racist. "White" is as much a cultural marker as racial, especially in the United States.
  2. Are you seriously using Media Matters as a credible source? Cmon, man! They didnt even have the journalistic integrity to even PRINT the entire message that Tucker wrote. Instead, they selectively cut out bits to make it seem as if he were applauding the violence he witnessed. You can do better than this.
  3. As much as Asians do based on their "Asian-ness". No bucket will hold all cultures. But the anglosphere "white" culture is predominant in many countries. Specific to what Tucker was talking about, I think most of the countries you mentioned would agree that men should fight one on one and not take the cowardly approach of ganging up on one victim. Clearly "white" is seen as a culture, otherwise it wouldn't be used by non whites to disparage people. African Americans regularly look down on each other for "acting white". Certainly this means through culture and action, not physical appearance.
  4. White is also a culture, just as Chinese is. Chua used Chinese and Asian interchangeably to make her point. Ever hear about black people criticizing other blacks as Oreos? Asians criticizing other asians as bananas? Because they were acting too "white". Meaning culturally white, not racially. Tucker was lamenting the lack of fighting fair in the three idiots. A very common trait valued traditionally in quote unquote western countries. Fight fair, dont cheat, be gentlemanly. Code of chivalry, man to man duels, all that kind of thing. Traits that are not race specific- anyone can exhibit them.
  5. Race or culture? Interchangeable in both cases. Tucker is not saying that only white people fight fair, same as Chua is not saying that only Asiakidsn are smart.
  6. So when Amy Chua, the "Tiger Mom" expects her kids to do better than those from other ethnic groups, she is racist too? Any talk of how successful Asian parents are is racist? Please.
  7. Perhaps it does. I would hope to feel the same as you, but these days it is hard to ignore how race gets injected into every possible nook and cranny of life. Yet imagine if a black man saw a group of blacks swarming and attacking someone, and he said, "hey, that's not how black men fight", would HE be racist too? By expecting better behavior from his fellow African Americans?
  8. He has high standards for his own group. Is that a bad thing? TBH it may be more of a generational thing. No respect for a 'fair fight' like in the past. People complain about it in Thailand all the time- the way Thai men all pile on when a fight breaks out. No honorable single combat.
  9. How is it racist in any way? He was not maligning anyone, he was just showing his disgust at members of his OWN group. Wishing they would do better.
  10. Could be a chance for a split decision. No to the battery, yes to defamation. Also, this is not a criminal proceeding, so the standard of proof is different (and lower).
  11. Before we all start celebrating, you should know that Tucker has NOT been fired yet. His show was pulled off the air, but he is still an employee of Fox. He and Fox are currently in negotiations as to the terms of his departure, that is why he can't just fire back at whatever allegations come up. He has one year left in his contract with Fox, it is possible that Fox will just string him along for that year, keep paying his salary, and hope that the passing of time will hurt his chances to land another plum job somewhere else. As for bringing up skin colour the way he did, that is nothing. It is common for people of all backgrounds to do the same thing, especially to show either their pride or their disappointment in members of the group they belong to.
  12. You answered your first question with the second one. That is the purpose of charities- to step in when and where governments are not doing enough. People who think the Florida law is inhumane can certainly protest and try to get it changed. But, in the meantime, they could also take the practical step of helping people who may be effected by it. And you are right, it is not incumbent, but it might be the nice thing to do.
  13. What a bombshell report! Could this be the beginning of the end for the Biden administration? The walls are closing in...
  14. This seems like an obvious place for pro abortion charities and donors to step in. Offer financial assistance to people like this who are in financial need.
  15. 100% agree. Be calm, be polite, but assert your rights. Sadly, many American police forces do not recruit from, how can I say, the better members of society. Nor are they trained all that well, especially local and municipal police forces. They learn far too much about the "us vs them" paradigm and not enough about "serve and protect".
  16. Good Lord, we agree on something! I like it too.
  17. I would say that linkage of the crime problem with the illegal immigration problem is the truth.
  18. It is a civil trial, not a criminal procedure. No chance for jail time, just a monetary settlement. Interesting that the statute of limitations for both criminal AND civil trials has long since expired. Yet in 2022 New York passed a law that allowed people to file claims for otherwise too old claims. So here we are now.
  19. Hey BLM protestors: play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Try to damage someone's car and this is what you get.
  20. Exactly. Any "reform" needs to start with securing the border. Then, processing the people already in the US illegally. Then, deciding what level of immigration is best for America. Finally, open up to people who meet the requirements of the US economy. Any other answer is doomed to failure. Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million people in return for reforms. The amnesty was done, the reforms never came.
  21. Good. Hope it was excruciating. If anything good can come out of this, perhaps a number of his fellow terrorists will starve themselves into martyrdom.
  22. Probably works up quite a sweat just breathing. Best advice for 'happy time' would be to roll her in flour and aim for a wet spot. And pray you don't get an armpit.
  23. Pure legend. No evidence. No photos of him with an inhaler. No medical evidence from his younger days. No mention in his autobiography. Nobody remembers him suffering from it. He managed to be a lifeguard and play football with no trouble. Give it up.
  24. I know what you mean. I didn't really appreciate his music when I was younger, but I yearn for it now. Awesome stuff to play on a sunny day, driving with the windows down, heading to the cottage. "Carefree Highway" makes every road tune playlist I have. My next trip to North America, I will play the Allman Brothers' "Pegasus" while cruising through Georgia and some Gordo on my way to Muskoka.
  25. Yes, I know. Same as Trump. That is what I said. He and Trump received identical medical classifications after they ran out of deferments. Both underwent medical examination and were classified 1-Y, which means unfit for service except in case of national emergency. I am not sure why that is hard to understand.
