  1. Of course they don't consider themselves prostitutes, it's an outdated term that refers to dishonest, immoral activity. Look up the definition, it describes the activities of lawyers and politicians, not those providing a service. A better term is sex worker.
  2. The figure of 90% was being used 25 years. Since then there's been the closure of cheap brothels, a massive increase in tourism and sex before marriage is now accepted. Many or even most of the karaoke bars in villages were closed after 2014. So I doubt the figure is correct now (or possibly ever), but it has little to do with the issue. Education is free until university, there are plenty of jobs around and the World Bank classes Thailand as upper middle income. People are doing this work through choice, which is up to them, it's wrong for others to try to control the sex lives of adults.
  3. Actually you said it lacked empathy, which is not really true because it was a blunt statement of fact. So what if they're not classy.
  4. Whenever this topic comes up there's always posters looking down on ppl, trying to show they have more class. Her statement was blunt, that's all.
  5. Assigned? Weren't they born with a sex that doesn't align with their gender identity?
  6. I'm curious where your from to have such antiquated ideas that have long been given up on in most places because they are ineffective. Maybe it's your age?
  7. Alcohol? It's a drug (didn't you know?), probably the most damaging to society (not just the individual).
  8. I think you're the only one talking legal executions, it's not what I was referring to when I bought up the deaths. There is only one developed country in the world that still executes, doesn't seem to do much good, as it's also got the world's largest prison population and a massive drug problem. Some call it the Land of the Free, but they're joking. Executing drug dealers didn't solve the problem, but for those who believe killing is the answer, the next logical step is to go extra judicial. Which didn't work here, but they still adopted it in the Philippines. It's disturbing that people are so keen to see others dies over what is a health problem, while ignoring other successful strategies.
  9. I gave it a try, works wonders: "A government anti-drug campaign resulting in as many as 3,000 killings has driven drug users underground and away from lifesaving HIV prevention services. The 60-page report, "Not Enough Graves: Thailand’s War on Drugs, HIV/AIDS, and Violations of Human Rights," provides fresh evidence of extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and other human rights violations by Thai authorities. The report contains first-hand testimony from relatives of people killed during the drug war, as well as drug users who endured beatings, forced confessions and arbitrary arrests at the hands of Royal Thai Police." https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/newsroom/thailand-report-documents-abuses-drug-war
  10. Singapore is an island state know for it's lack of human rights. Death for just over a pound of ganja, <deleted>. Why do other countries not sanction it for such gross human rights abuses? For a successful drug policy, try Portugal.
  11. This is simply wrong, a war on drugs here killed around 3,000 in as many months. Still plenty of drugs around.
  12. People have been selling and using drugs for a while now, the harm to all is much worse when they're illegal.
  13. Can it be used with a Shopify online store? It's not in the list and I couldn't find anything searching.
  14. My online store currently uses PayPal for shopping cart payments. I need to find another payment provider. Can anybody recommend one? I am received payments from all over the world. Thanks
  15. I have a Ltd Co. registered in Thailand with an online shop currently receiving payment from PayPal. Can anybody suggest alternatives?
  16. I honestly don't know, but there are plenty who support bones and raw meat diet, saying it's closet to their natural food. The quality dry food has blood meal, bone meal, chicken meal etc., I think fresh stuff would be healthier and cheaper, last time I checked water was part of a balanced diet. As for locally produced dry food, I think it's mainly corn, salt and sugar. Thais eat almost all parts of an animal, so not much left for the dogs.
