Best I've seen is a couple of dove looking birds.i think the stray cats keep the bird population down.anything with four legs unless it's a dog is living on borrowed time.

  2. And heres the latest from yesterday at immo.the insurance required is only valid if you get it through one of the government recommended companies...don't just go out and get your own.also my friend phoned a company and asked them if this was good for his visa and he said yes but mt friend looked through the list and that company wasn't on the list.if he had taken it on the sales mans word he would of been throwing the money down the drain and conned.ahyway he went into immo in udon and she demanded his health cover but my wife said it don't start yet and after the immo losing face she had to issue his extention.she even knocked him back on the 12 months proof of income and said it's only 2 months so my wife looked and pointed the 12 months of payments.again losing face.

  3. My friend went into udon immo yesterday.hes a retired US major.asked him for bank proof of pension which he easily covered but they said he must get a letter from his US bank to say where the money comes from.then said where's his medical health insurance as he's on a non AO.he pulled out his Medicare and his army health insurance and got the knock back on both of them too.

so the latest I can report is you need health insurance today.

Not easy since the 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year at land borders went into effect in January of 2017.

They would need a multiple entry tourist visa to do it now. The embassy in Vientiane will issue one for those living in Laos due to that rule going into effect.

Not correct since January of 2017.

Sorry about the wrong info.ive never had a problem but I'm on a marriage visa multi entry.i didn't think about only 2 land crossings a year.so it's still possible but through obtaining a multi entry visa?

i have never had a problem with immo and I now go savannaket for 12 month multi entry based on marriage.i have to leave the country every 90 days and I'm an hour from the Vientiane boarder so make a day trip for duty free, the best bread in Asia and a couple of hours in the casino.

How does that work with visa's from Laos to Thailand weekly for Farangs if they wanted to live in Laos and shop etc in Udon Thani? Is it a big hassle?

Very easy to come in through Vientiane the only problem is going back in to Lao as they stick a huge page stamp in your passport and charge $20 to enter the country.im in the uk at the moment and I'm getting a new passport with extended amount of pages in it.i suppose it's different if your just a day tripper going in and out every couple of week rather than someone coming in and out for 60-90 days at a time and look like your trying to live in Thailand.
