The red shirt senators that just got elected will be really pissed off that they won't get any return on the money they spent to buy votes.
Funny thing is, you will see people, who have complained most of their lives, about the outragious salaries and pensions politicians receive, but as soon as all these corrupt polititians are taken away, they start to whine. People are so used to having a "Nanny State", that they are willing to give away all their money and freedoms, in order to preserve what they have.
I have always said, that a "benevolent dictator", is a much better political system than democracy. Democratic systems keep getting fatter and fatter on the back of the average working people. Politicians live in luxury and from our taxes, while they give all the benefits to the rich industrialists and bankers, literally "biting the hand that feeds them", but the masses normally just stand by and accept it, without much resistance.
As long as our beloved King remains the head of State, I am fine with whatever happens, in the next little while.

Thank you, PDRC and members of the Democratic Party, for hanging in so long and for making so many sacrifices, in order to get rid of Thaksin's cronies. Our thanks to the military and General Prayuth, for finally stepping in and stopping the bloodshed.
Let's hope that Thailand will move on, in a positive way after all this. Long Live the King! Long Live Thailand!

hmmm...first martial law, then probably a new PM appointed by the Senate...this is all playing out nicely and more or less as expected.
In fact, it means no such thing. The govt remains in office even in the context of martial law. This simply removes from the streets the groups in conflict.
First of all, there is no legitimate Government, at the moment. Secondly, declaring martial law, pulled the last few teeth (CAPO and the ability of the Reds to mobilize) from Thaksin and his cronies. The logical next step, is for the Senate to appoint a Prime Minister (who of course will not be a paid puppet of the man in Dubai)
Looks like you have your choice of either the Upper House (Senate) or the military making the decisions, but it will definitely not be the past Government (Thaksin)

Suthep's huge demonstrations against the Amnesty Bill, initially got Yingluck to step down. As a Caretaker Government, she doesn't have the influence to change laws anymore, which stopped her and her team in its tracks.
Thanksin's cronies were busy, trying to declare Amnesty for him and to change the Constitution to suit them. All that, thanks mostly to Suthep, has ground to a halt.
So I believe, that Suthep is doing his job well. Keeping people motivated and out on the streets for six months is not an easy job and I am not sure if it had been done before anywhere, on this big scale and for so long, before?
I believe, that things will unfold very similar to last time, when the PAD took over the airport and the Government was forced out by the courts. Both forces, Suthep and the Courts, work in harmony. The courts will get the credit, yes.

Quite a double standard, I would say. I would say a lot more, but it will get censored by some go-gooders anyway, who think they have to protect everyone else.
I will say this...when I was living on the Reserve years ago, in Canada, I had a lot of people call me honky. I could take it as a joke and laugh with them or I could punch them in the head, but not once did I go whining to their Elders or anyone else about it.
If something is not done mean spirited and without intend to harm, I have no problem with it at all.
We don't all look the same, we are not all the same gender, or the same sex orientation. There is nothing wrong with being "different". Variety is the spice of life.
To point out the differences, in fun (for both parties involved) ways, is fine, as far as I am concerned. To do it with the intention to put the other person down or to cause them harm, is not o.k.
Society, in my opinion, has gone way overboard with it's so called "Political Correctness". I see nothing wrong with old nursery rhymes, great literature of old, such as Mark Twains writings, etc. and to me, the thing that covers the pipes under the road, will always be a "Manhole Cover". I heard, they were even talking about changing the name for that, in the West
What a crazy world we live in.

Never mind the never ending last battles. I want to see pictures (of the actual rally), they claimed just drew tens of thousands of reds. For some reason, those stories never seem to be verified by pictures
