It is not known yet for sure if this virus can spread via aerosol or not:

As for surfaces of objects (called "fomites" in the medical field), it is not clear yet either. Experts think it probably doesn't spread that way, "probably" being the operative word here:

Just a note of caution so that people don't take for granted things that have not been fully established by scientists working on this.

My post was about "why i'm not worried about travelling to Thailand" and the steps i take to lower my chances of contracting the virus and nothing else. If i wanted to be technical i could have searched the 2,160,000,000 results and put links up my self.

  2. I'm flying in Saturday and not worried one bit, if the virus was airborne yes i would be worried, as the virus lives droplets and its highly unlikely you will catch it unless someone coughs or sneezes within 3 meters of you, A mask alone will not protect you as the virus can enter through your eye ducts, wear glasses and a mask and you be ok. As for door handles tables etc, after the droplets have dried the virus is dead and that won't take long and make sure if you use wipes or spray its alcohol and nothing else other wise all these so called disinfection wipe will only spread virus, bacteria germs etc. Just go on with your normal life with caution.

Only our whole country, The Chinese don't give a <deleted> about the Australian people they only want our resources and the government are playing right into their hands by selling off our land off to them. Unless our government stops this selling off you might as well kiss Australia's <deleted> goodbye in the future. The Chinese are a threat not only to Australia but any other country will be in their sites as well.

How sad. All too often, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Do you think a normal person would just jump out of a window after an argument? Mental Illness is a big factor in suicides, its real and its happening to thousands of people everyday and sadly, some don't even know they have an illness. The only other two reason probably drunk or drugged off his head.

Had the joy of seeing this guy recently in Khao Yai NP.   Elephants how they are supposed to be.

Most captive elephants (including all performing elephants - ie: accompanied by a mahout) are tortured from a young age using "bull hooks".  The 4 inch spike on the hook is jabbed in to their hide, their flesh ripped, and they are shown the blood.  This is repeated until the elephants perform unnatural acts out of fear compliance.  This includes the elephants in the parade.

Nice gesture from the children, but I suspect the wild animals of the Australian bush are shedding a tear for the captive elephants.  I certainly do every time I see one.
