Thailand has the 8th largest economy in Asia and most of the income comes from industry. Only 20% from tourism and most of that from China.
Now they have competition growing in both Tourism and Industry, couple that with astonishing debt issues, and they are primed for implosion. I am just waiting for the other shoe to drop (world markets collapsing), its way overdue! Right now is a good time to stockpile cash and get ready to buy into stocks when they collapse.

Do you know what it is like to be poor, and expect to be for the whole of your life.
So why not buy a helmets for the children, not for the parents? Are they expendable?

Well that sure sounds like democracy, right? SMH.

Yup, they seem to have no problem attacking each other (rival university students), but they can't muster enough courage to confront a dictator and his minions.

I do a lot of walking in Chiang Mai and have noticed more motorists are yielding at crosswalks.
In Bangkok, they actually block the crosswalks, people can't even use them.

Notice it's the pterodactyls in the company getting their work issue pantihose in a tangle.
God, this place needs a youth revolution like Hong Kong's urgently!
Of course they are, they want to be respected for their age and seniority, not because they have earned anyone's respect.....sort of like the Junta Government.

I personally would love to see the sidewalks go back to the pedestrians, start prohibiting the shops to take over them.
I would like to see them not used as a driving lane for motorcycles. Every time I see one coming at me on a sidewalk or crosswalk, I make sure to call them an idiot I'Kwai, still waiting for one of these idiots to step off their bike and confront me, it will be Epic!

So older Thai's are still showing signs of indoctrination, and younger Thai's are open-minded, so the supposedly older/wiser employees are harassing the younger ones? Nothing new here, welcome to Thailand, the land of smiles!

Yes, deputies for everything. Even the cleaner women in the 'Parliament' - exalted skivvies, all lavishly salaried relatives, of course - will have deputy cleaner women at their beck and call!
Yes, those military guys love their glorified stewardess types, some even become royalty overnight.

This also means that any member of the junta who is not in that list or an elected MP is now "retired".
All this means is that a dictator and his cronies are backed by a higher authority, someone who obviously has a special affection for Military Dictatorships.

if the police are serious about this issue, then one could say it's never too late. at any case, the priority should be given to the pedestrians because they are the most vulnerable
Absolutely nothing will be done, but it made for good grandstanding, should help with the next promotion or raise.

The most foolish thing is assuming they'll stop when the light is red.
The most foolish thing is believing any Thai driver will follow any road rules whatsoever, in fact, you should assume they will not follow any of them.

That being said Pol Col Krissana then made a comment that will resonate with many people regarding the danger of Thai roads.
"It's all about enforcement," he said.
Oh good, they've identified the problem.....but as usual, nothing will ever be fixed, and no laws will ever be enforced, just more hot air being expelled by a mouth breather.

Normal everyday driving here, I can post "Nutty Driving" videos every day, there is no end to it, most Thai's shouldn't even be allowed to drive. I would guess if you gave an International Driving test to Thai's, that 90% would fail the test, Thai drives are completely out of control, and lack any type of training whatsoever.

What other police force in the world has a 1.1 Million Baht airplane? How many other 3rd World Countries have these, I mean I am sure the rice farmers agree this was a justifiable purchase made with taxpayer money.

You said there were so many chemicals in Thai food that you would get cancer.
Yes, did I stutter? Even their "Organic" fruits and vegetables have shown a huge percentage as having chemicals on them that would make them dangerous, surely not "Organic" by any metric.

I am sure eating Pad Thai is not going to give you cancer, or have a high chance of food poisoning if you think about it logically.
I'm not sure how you came to the Pad Thai and cancer correlation, but OK.
