What truth? Climate changes- always has, always will. That's nature and humans thinking they can actually do anything about it is Tower of Babel thinking IMO.

Fires- always been fires- part of nature

Temperature- in first century AD Romans grew grapes in Britain, then it got too cold in dark ages; all before "human made climate change".

Climate normally, in the planet's history, changes gradually, over tens of thousands of years due to solar variation unless an event such as a meteorite strike should.happen and cause mass extinction. What we have now is a mass extinction event caused by the burning of colossal quantities of fossil fuels. If you really think that is untrue then you haven't really thought about it. Energy companies spent millions 'debunking' the obvious facts in. the 80's and 90's and unfortunately some stubborn people still refuse to accept the obvious.

Grapes have always been grown in the south of England although it's much easier nowadays of course.

The Dark Ages are so-called because of the lack of written records due to a breakdown of societal culture, not because it was dark.. There was a medieval warm period around 950-1200AD and mini-ice ages in human recorded history but none of these were. global, just localised and caused by sea current anomalies.

Seems unlikely the outboard motor propeller would have been out of the water?

The current is quite swift in the Chao Praya, I expect the motor was in the water

Why do you think the propeller might have been out of the water? Being as usual less than a foot under the surface whilst driving the boat would be quite capable of causing severe trauma when fell upon.

I would be surprised if the one day quarantine isn't suspended for an indefinite period.

We have seen three groups of guests who came under the Test and Go umbrella.

They tested negative on their first  PCR test.

Left quarantine but tested positive on their second PCR test at their holiday accommodation.

They are then in quarantine for between 10 - 14 days at that accommodation. ie until they are clear.

So they probably caught it after arriving in Thailand then.

OP your observation could be a result of the environment and individuals you associate with.

my thai friends are generally well educated (at universities in thailand and abroad), professional, many widely travelled and mostly read books in both thai and english.

many of my friends have children at school and university and they too read books in thai and english, often asking me to recommend books.

there is a wonderful thailand out there, just get out of the bar!

My experience too. My wife and both of her sisters read a lot. When we first met my wife had a reading room in her house lined with bookshelves. Mainly in Thai, but lots of foreign authors. She even had everything by Jeffrey Archer! And she had never met a farang.

    hence my maybe, apparently, ?

perhaps others can provide the answer.

    - Yes. However, flight changes are permitted within 72 hours after the original flight time registered in the Thailand Pass without the need to apply for a new Thailand Pass QR Code, provided that all other required documents remain valid.

A lot of people should be very worried now. Many people were booked to go on the test and go after 10th January. These people will now be cancelling flights like mad, and in all probability the airlines will now start cancelling flights due to mass cancellations - you may book you phuket sandbox, but you may not be able to get there potentially !

I can imagine flights on and before the 10th might now be a bit busier..

    Same here mate.
Was supposed to arrive January 13, Test & Go as well...
I'm still sleepy so my brain cannot quite process the news...
I'll probably have to cancel everything, I don't want to quarantine

The wife can wait another 3 months right...

Maybe both of you could bring your flights forward to the 10th? Thailand Pass is still valid for 72 hours either way.

There is a difference between an insurance policy and a certificate, certificates are usually single or double page.

I had my insurance certificate reissued from GBP to USD in less than an hour, although cover will always remain in the companies base currency.

It is quite straightforward to change PDF or other formats to JPEG if necessary.

None of my documents, which all started off as PDF, were accepted by the system after changing to either JPG or JPEG. None of them could be opened on my MacBook either. It seems they are all protected from alteration in any way as they are official documents. I'm presuming they all have to be printed then scanned in JPEG/JPG first. I ended up taking photos of my computer screen and sending them to myself as I didn't have access to a printer at the time. Hopefully this will be accepted. I will of course print them all out before I fly.

I don't wish to shift too much from the main issue here, which is essentially the possible imposition of restrictive & puntive social sanctions against those unvaccinated, but could someone just explain to me why I might be incorrect in thinking that if vaccinated people can still become infected with C19.....and if vaccinated people can still infect others with C19, why should it be assumed that UNvaccinated people are a particular risk to others? (A risk to themselves, yes.) It's a genuine query and I am happy to be shown up as having faulty logic or as being uninformed if that is the case.

(I am fully vaccinated btw, but only cos I could see exactly this kind of s**t coming down the road.....and lo, here it comes.)

Unvaccinated people pose a much higher risk of passing on the virus than vaccinated people, yes.

  10. I looked at other policies too, and Cigna seems cheap, but again no mention of asymptomatic cover.

Also I don't know how much cover I need. I have a non-immigrant 'O' 90 day visa, single entry. I will arrive about the 25th of November, but not sure exactly and double jabbed but not fully vaccinated (no choice, so AQ, although I may well be fully vaxxed during the 10 days). I will be leaving again within 30 days though.

My questions are: do I need insurance cover for the whole 90 days of my visa although I will only stay for about 30? Do I need separate policies for each trip? Or can I get a Thai-approved Covid-19 policy that will cover me for the whole period - Thailand, Malaysia and back to Thailand again?

If you're set on going to ... ah, sorry, I forgot your vaccination status. Mentioning "sandbox" threw me.

Yes, understandable. The authorities here are unbelievable, it's caused so many problems for yacht crew here. Can't travel, can't get crew in, can't get other jobs, not to mention the restrictions. I'm being investigated by immigration, with no timescale stated, for talking to a friend (he's also in trouble but he hasn't been paid for 7 months and can't leave) on a marina pontoon. We're allowed to walk around and go to the shops but not allowed to talk to anyone, which they seemed to make up as they went along. Could be months before I'm allowed to leave although my job finishes next week. The British Embassy are being very helpful but the authorities here are totally ignoring them.
